I do think that Seth MacFarlane sort of ruined the sitcom format, but Family Guy injected culture into the brains of millennials through the horribly unfunny and forced musical bits in the early seasons.

The first few seasons aged very poorly. There wasn't much comedy, just edgy humor that made 13 year olds laugh. The evolved and became pretty good.

i remember my grandma loved OG south park. she'd watch it with us at her house and bought us mr. hanky shirts. maybe it doesn't hold up to today's media oversaturated with edgy humor, but back then it was special. i'll always appreciate it.
