everyone should be required to have something like this next to every post they make, so we can all see who's opinions can be ignored
and based on these replies, it's most of them, and it makes many of the threads here make a lot more sense

Aren't you a strange one?
Ben Hur is about a jew discovering Jesus is the real deal, so it's not about zionism. It's extremely uplifting and fills me with hope and wonder that "the world is more than I know". The Lion King is a gnostic movie imo, so is Saragossa, which is also schizo, and I feel embraced when I see a movie that functions like my own head. And Lawrence of Arabia is the rise and fall of an autistic man who leaves his basement and LARps as an arab in order to feel something, but with time discovers Schopenhauer's quote "a man can do what he wills, but he cannot will what he wills" and goes from a postmodernist who thinks he can identify as anything ("transracial") to a pessimistic materialist, and he also discovers that boomers don't care about young people, so he loses his shit. To sum things up, he's just like me. But his journey is a cautionary tale, which serves me as a constant reminder not to lose myself, thus also uplifts me. Besides all that, all 4 movies are visually stunning and artistically crafted.
Don't they push out a new Ben Hur whenever they need to rally evangelicals to support Israel? Movie itself is fine, minus the feces-looking brownface.
I'm not pro anything gnostic, although it admittedly usually makes for a good story. Recent big budget examples would be Attack on Titan and Raised by Wolves. Also, I despise the musical portions of Lion King.
Lawrence of Arabia is about a Peter Pan syndrome homosexual. His trivial death scene at the beginning perfectly fits this theme.
Ben-Hur
What do you think of Quo Vadis?
Idk how to do the pictures but
Lethal Weapon
Year of the Dragon
Rocky
Police Story
Rambo 2 OR 4
Paddington 2
Singing in the Rain
Napoleon Dynamite
Naked Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Rambo 2 OR 4
Because of the foliage? I'd have picked 1 or 3. Ranking them would go 1>3>4>2(>5)
I like the book much more, I don't like the movie
I'd say it's heavier on the cheese than Ben-Hur and has a much weaker lead. That being said, I found it to be a good watch. Haven't read the book (or any other of the author's).
Anyone could make a strong argument for 1, it's an almost perfect film, but to put 3 over 2 and 4 when comparing action hero Rambo is nuts
I love the setting of the 3rd, as well as the whole look of the movie.
