All we know its that it will be adressed in the season. What I think will happen is: season 1 was the old DC, and our Peacemaker will kill the DCU Peacemaker and take his place (predictable but clearly Gunn wants this guy to be in the DCU)

I'm not sure I understand why the show went in this direction. The first one was pretty good because it dove pretty heavily into a man that was burdened with his father and how his life turned out, but this one seems to be a celebration of the fact that he's a broken man. This appears to be full-on "power of friendship" shit and I honestly hate that shows keep doing this. It's okay to write tarnished characters that try and struggle and fail, and they don't need a menagerie hanging around them to accomplish that.
