I wasn't huge on Talk to Me, but Bring Her Back has me super hyped. I saw really positive feedback from early screenings too. I love horror that oozes evil and dread.

First of all Get Out is a satire, not a comedy. They technically belong under the same umbrella but not every piece of satire is meant to make you laugh which is what's implied in the word "comedy". There are numerous examples of satirical horror movies from decades ago that aren't meant to be "haha funny" comedies like Dawn of the Dead and Child's Play which were satires on rampant consumerism played completely straight with very few if any outright lol moments. Although I suppose nowadays everything is a dark comedy to someone.

Peele approved of Blumhouse/Universal when they submitted the movie for the Golden Globes under the comedy category, something that also happened recently with The Substance which is another satirical horror. You're making up stuff in your own mind to get mad over.

I don't even like Get Out that much and think it's extremely overrated solely due to being racebaiting drivel made by a black passing mulatto director in the BLM era which is the only part of your post I agree with, but it's not a comedy anymore than Black Christmas is (released a year after Roe v Wade). Even if it was a comedy that doesn't mean it isn't also a horror movie. Horror being used to satirize culture or as a metaphor for something is not a new concept that was invented in the 2010s by The Babadook like this board would have you believe. The original The Thing and Invasion of the Body Snatchers novels and movies were metaphors for McCarthyism and the paranoia and fear of a communist infiltration into American society in the 1940s and 1950s.

Btw isn't it kind of a funny coincidence that the lead of the '56 Body Snatchers also has the last name McCarthy?

I've liked some of Perkins' films but they always seem to be a handful of creepy bits and a bunch of dead air inbetween. In terms of bang for your buck I'm sure Final Destination Bloodlines will be better.

Making a Final Destination film is like having training wheels on, the formula does all the work for you. It took a lot of work to make the 4th entry bad (Terrible lead actor, awful cinematography, shot in the ugliest parts of New Orleans, 3D gimmickry).
