So what exactly was the message of the show?

So what exactly was the message of the show?

You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes you just might find, you get what you need.

There wasn't some "message". What show has a message after multiple years and dozens of episodes? You fucking retard.

Ego is le bad or something

The best revenge in the world is success

Don't just sit there and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, do it right away. Do it when you can. It's the only way to live a life without regrets.

America Bad

Cause the guy who wants too much risks losing absolutely everything. Of course, the one who wants too little from life might not get anything at all.

Being driven completely by pride and ego will lead to self-destruction.

that Waltuh could've more or less gotten what he wanted all along by giving Beaver and Buffcoat a laser pointer

Some shows can have a central message, but most shows are too disorganized and don't have anything focused and meaningful to say.

But the whole meth thing was bad

Bad how, he got to do cool shit and then die

There was no message. Vince wanted to do a show where the protagonist went from being a likable underdog you rooted for to being the villain.
He didn't really succeed at it since everyone still saw Walt as the likable underdog, including Vince himself, hence why he felt the need to give him a relatively benign ending where he accomplishes his last goal of finding a way to force money he earned himself into his son's hands, kills the gang threatening his family's lives, and dies beside the kind of chemistry equipment he loved.
But even though he didn't succeed at making a hero you like become a villain you hate, he still made a show that was entertaining.

go bald, go bold

Innocent people le suffered and died

he didn't succeed at making a hero you like become a villain you hate

Has any show succeeded in doing this? I think Vince got pretty close though, Walter genuinely was hateable at times.

Bravissimo, Vincente.

Nothing lol, it was equivalent to marvel movies and amusement parks, just media to turn your brain off and consume
At least Sopranos had something to say

Sonic CD?

Be gay, do crime

At least Sopranos had something to say

What was it?

Walt is literally not responsible for even one innocent person’s death

Having “something to say” is grotesque. Great art exists in itself on its own terms and meaning is derived from the audience. The idea that something could have a “message” delivered by the “artist” is why millennials never made a good movie.

He was indirectly responsible, and he potentially could have if Brok died from the poison

ayyy gabagool

Kino

Buy land. They’re not making any more of it.

meaning is derived from the audience

Thats what I was hoping to hear itt

Meaning =/= “message” or “point”. Meaning is derived throughout the show. Its about ego, family, masculinity, addiction, wrath, greed, revenge, modernity, art. Theres a million things you can derive from the story of breaking bad because its a good story told honestly with honest intent and doesnt “have something to say” or a “message”

People can have differing interpretations on what the point or message of the show was though, there can still be discussion there. And honestly i just thought wording it that way would get more replies

Don't surround yourself with incompetent chumps and marry an evil whore.

why do they never explain what happened to his wife's face?

i get she's an actress, playing a character. but it would be like if they had dialogue about what a great sprinter their son is.

They are minerals, not rocks.

It's ok to destroy your family if that gives them millions of dollars

nooooo! breaking the law bad! think of your horrible wife's feelings!

Crime can pay, as long you don't let your pride, your ego get in the way.

become a villain you hate

Everyone that still liked Walt in season 5 is either a mentally ill retard or a normalfag that just has to cheer for the protag, in the show's defense. Even if Walt ate his daughter alive, people would have worshipped him because he is the protagonist. That's how humans work. It happened with Tony soprano, 2

He didn't really do that much wrong. At no point am I ever really convinced he's a "monster", as much as the show really tries to push that on you. At worst, he's an idiot who gets in way over his head.
At no point does he ever go out of his way to hurt someone who doesn't kind of deserve it. They were too coward to cross that line.

Marie's tight purple pussy

At no point am I ever really convinced he's a "monster",

whistles after a kid is murdered in front of his eyes

Yeah....

In the end, what The Sopranos had to say was th

Anon...he didn't sell weed, he made and sold METH, that shit kills, but, sure if you are in the school of "only junkies who are all idiots and deserve to die" then my words will do nothing to change your mind.

Watching a tv show is a waste of time though?
This is like when FFVII had themes about naturalism and the dangers of technology despite selling itself at the time of release as a cutting edge technological achievement you have to own.
Or that Stone Cold movie The Condemned which is a dumb fun movie selling violence to teenagers up until the end when they shoehorn in a meta narrative about how you're actually the villain for wanting to see people fight. But fuck you movie you made your profit off of violence and then blamed me for it.
NHH

I don't recall that happening
Yeah, if you're willing to take it, that's kind of on you

Jesse is a piece of shit annoying dickhead betrayer loser

Humiliation of a white man many kicked around husbands identified with.

What show has a message after multiple years and dozens of episodes?

The best one.

what the fuck is meth

American candy

If you believe in yourself, you can accomplish great things

Make meth. Break up your family. Kill beaners.

meth kills

after like a few decades of abuse

police killed more people on accident due to the war on drugs than meth did

ohh we have that over here, now.

(really it's an excuse to embezzle money from selling smack, speed, and whizzers.)

o.jpg - 750x1000, 199.34K

Do what you think is cool and don’t let cancer or family or criminals or police stand in your way.

I never understood what people meant when they say walt is the villain. Everything he did was necessary

One might make the argument that health care CEOs kill more people than meth manufacturers.

no, not really

I don't recall that happening

The episode after the train robbery, Jessie is mad at Walt for not feeling bad about the dead kid and leaves the "lab" angrily, and then Walt starts whistling happily

Not really his fault.

locke from lost?

Everything he did was necessary

Everything he did was unnecessary. He could have just taken Elliots money and then roll credits

a stimulate drug that increases dopamine in the cns. it's a more potent version of "speed".

i was given it once as a freebie (just want a £20 bag of weed) and it was absolutely because of the popularity of Breaking Bad.

with the -amphetamine suffix i assumed it was a stimulant, either like speed or Ritalin or similar. but all this "it ruins your life! it rots your teeth! homeless meth addicts!" stuff makes it sound like a heavy dissociative, a super addictive painkiller or some such?

it's just turbocharged ADHD meds? the fuck?
