Thunderbolts*

Finally saw it. It's probably the best MCU film since Infinity War, but that's not saying much since they were all trash after that.

Good points:

great first half, didn't really feel like a Marvel film, just about mercenary super-soldiers fighting each other, then escaping the villain who set them up

luckily they kept the whole quipping bullshit down to a minimum, it was mostly just that red super-soldier who did it and he sucks anyway

the first half felt more "grounded" than most MCU films, probably because they didn't have any aliens or weird monsters or anything too supernatural, just super-soldiers

the design of Void and the way he kills people was cinematically interesting

Taskmaster's design was also good

Bad:

they killed off Taskmaster immediately (probably to prevent the "New Avengers" being made up of 50% Russians)

the Russian accents were bad, I don't get why Hollywood insists on doing this shit when they could just hire people who are actually from those countries

the second half was bad, it felt like two separate movies stuffed together

they kept side-lining Bucky, instead they shoved Yelena into the spotlight but he was so much more compelling than her still

there was no real build-up or chemistry between Bob and the mercenaries, so it made no sense when they all hugged him to defeat the Void (seriously)

using the Watchtower again was just nostalgia baiting and it failed

the sudden jump from Bob not knowing how to use his abilities to instantly knowing all of them was ridiculous

Sentry's design was awful, and his power-set was so misplaced for a film about super-soldiers, it was like when they put Adam Warlock in GotG3 and he was massively underpowered and misplaced

they really needed to focus more on the Void being "empowered" by shame and misery, and so would feed on the Thunderbolts to get stronger, forcing them all to face their own pasts and come to terms with it (Bucky should be the first to overcome the Void, as he has progressed the most in that already, then he helps the others)

the ending made no sense, they had the villain cornered in front of cameras and STILL let her lie her way out of it, they could've just detained her publicly after she tried to claim credit, and then told the world she caused the problems and they had to fix it

the end credit was a massive spoiler and made it pointless to watch the new Fantastic Four trash

That's probably me done now for Marvel. I don't see it going in any direction where it will be interesting any more.

capeslop

grow up

i was pleasantly surprised by it as well
all the characters were new to me, except bucky
hope they will keep climbing up and away from the slop pit they dug themselves into years ago

olympus.jpg - 930x767, 106.11K

It's the best post-Endgame if you don't count Guardians 3
But the fatigue is real, so nothing can save the franchise now

they killed off Taskmaster immediately

Fuck off with that. I haven't seen this shit but that wasn't Taskmaster

Whatever your opinion on the gender-swap, this was still a great costume design.

..People still watch Marvel?

I thought Endgame was trash, it was little more than a parody, and Guardians 3 was terrible, so for me Thunderbolts has been the only thing to actually seem any good.

goes on Anon Babble

sees a thread about Marvel

knows he'll be upset

still goes in to get upset

"grow up"

Yeah...

Yes.

describe in how many words you need to how great it is.

With English that bad, I doubt you'd understand even if I did.

I'm glad the movie finally came out. I was sick of seeing all the ads for it.

filthy people doing things

girlboss scream

more filthy people

was there a request from the fans for this?

This shit is so ugly

It’s the dc fag who spent years spamming BVS threads.

filthy people

What an odd thing to get hung up on.

I guess the new cope is “it’s not as shit”.

No cope involved, just pointing out it was surprising even half of it was good considering Marvel's current trends.

The poster for the movie looks like a bunch of homeless people trying to figure out where they are.

Well basically have to 3/4ths of the film spoiled to me by the internet and trailers/marketing. Why does touching Bob flash back walker to his wife being bitchy instead of Walker losing his bro to the terrorist he fought while he was Cap?
Not really. It't just ghost's costume but with a hoodie and a skull mask

Yeah, the poster is shit.

Why does

Apparently, the Void draws out people's most shameful moments, not their most depressing or heartbroken ones.

Not really. It't just ghost's costume but with a hoodie and a skull mask

So... not like Ghost's costume. Otherwise, you might as well be saying Yelena's is just Bucky's but without a metal arm.

yalena looks boring but is pretty fun and sweet
ghost is a bad bitch
walker is an asshole
dad is fun and sweet as well
bob did it well with depression
bucky looks too old

bert4.jpg - 680x620, 87.63K

Guardians 3 is the only marvel movie in years that has any soul. I guess you're just not a fan of the guardians

I liked GotG 1 and 2, but 3 was a terrible mess.

I rank GotG 3 above the first movie. The first one is the weakest of the three. It's only beloved by the mainstream because it was memed into your brains that it was the second coming of christ or something. It has all the problems of the following movies but also suffers from being the prototype for all the things the sequels did better

Apparently, the Void draws out people's most shameful moments, not their most depressing or heartbroken ones.

Okay, got it

Otherwise, you might as well be saying Yelena's is just Bucky's but without a metal arm.

I'm tempted. Though one is like a greenish jump suit and another is just a dude in a leather jacket/t shirt and pants. I kind of wish they kept his arm silver.

bucky looks too old

He's literally in his 90's!!

Who is the blonde boy in the middle? Looks like my anime.

Yelena is the mc

nope this zoomerbait industry planted bitch is shit

From a character perspective, this movie is better than Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers, or Winter Soldier.

true

I hope Avengers Doomsday opens with Bob giving full on backshots on Yelena, he whimpering "I love you" and then she with a russian accent saying "you better finish inside this time or we are going another round"

Hollywood is deluded about superhero designs

movie with dark gritty designs fail

Better go bright and colorful!

bright and colorful design movie fails

Better go dark and gritty!

both dark and colorful films fail on Marvel and DC sides

Must not have been gritty enough... time to go full hobo
Meanwhile the comic designs are all distinctive and iconic having sold millions of comics long before cape flicks became a cash cow.

If selling comics and movies were the same creature, Marvel Comics would be ubiquitous and fantastically popular.
The cinematic experience is utterly different, with a much wider and different audience.

No, this movie is making even less money than Captain Nigger despite much better reception

was there a request from the fans for this?

No, the entire thing is about side characters that people didn't like(and Bucky) trying to find their place in the MCU

And each of them gets better treatment in this film than they've gotten in previous movies/shows.

I teared up when they hugged
Sebastian Stan phoned it in but he did some awesome shit
Red Guardian was alright and Yelena was great
Why the fuck did you tell me this movie is bad? Why the fuck are YouTubers trashing it? It wasn't perfect but it's a good movie

file.png - 495x283, 229.85K

An audience that demands characters all dress identical? Even when Marvel had colorful, distinct characters it was making the villains into random generic mooks. Half the time people didn't even know they were meant to be comics characters.

Why the fuck are YouTubers trashing it?

????
Every youtube reviewer except Nerdrotic and Critical Drinker is praising it as the best Marvel movie in years.

This scene had weight. Bob becomes the Tulpa for all their individual regrets, despair and sadness, at first they are cheering him on violently beating on the Void, until it starts dawning on them that all their lonely anger has gotten them nowhere and is just self-destructive.

kek
What's really bizarre about Marvel movies like Thunderbolts is that they go for this grimdark greyslop look but then have a lighthearted, snarky tone no different from the goofy marvel movies. It makes these things impossible to fucking watch and I'm glad this shit is finally flopping.

youtubers are imbeciles.
it's a great movie

Falcon: BNW made $190m over 4 days opening.
Thunderbolts made $160m over 3 days opening.

Lone starr's kid hard carry

Even when Marvel had colorful, distinct characters it was making the villains into random generic mooks.

What the fuck are you even on about?
It's like you are inventing shit to get angry about.

I’ve developed a 6th sense about these marvel movies. I could tell this one was gonna be decent.

It would've had more weight if they'd actually built up and relationship between them and Bob. You can tell this was supposed to be 2 different films, but they panicked and dropped the Adamantium stuff and just tied the whole Sentry line into Thunderbolts instead, which is why it feels so disjointed.

the design of Void and the way he kills people was cinematically interesting

That was the highlight of the film for me. Less is more in this case. The way his victims just suddenly disappear without any crazy effect, leaving behind a black smudge on the ground was pretty cool and understated.
The rest of the movie was okay. Not something that'll leave much of a mark, but a decent bit of entertainment, and certainly much better than anything else Marvel shat out in the last 5 years, which is admittedly not a high bar.

A lot of YouTubers are controversy farms now, they make their money by being contrarians, hostile, or intentionally rage-baiting. You shouldn't give a shit what they say, it's all bullshit to make money off of your views.

The point is, they don't know Bob, or each other (except Yelena and Alexei) but they see Bob as a mirror of their own personal darkness and despair.

I recoil in shock every time remember Steven Yeun was cast first for the role of Bob.

, this was still a great costume design.

Not taskmaste gender, no taskmaster personality

I like to think that they realized that he's just beating himself up, literally, which is the reflection of his terrible childhood experiences and his abusive family, this is what the void is, his sorrow/anger/sadness, which you can't just burry deeper or run away from or beat it up. It's like trying to escape from your own self or beat it up, both of which are not the way to deal with inner turmoil. Accepting the parts of yourself that you taught yourself are bad is the first step towards love and healing

The list goes on.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 had many great points, and a villain performance that went the extra mile.
Not every bit of Multiverse of Madness hit, but it had a lot of good moments in it.
Deadpool and Wolverine gave people everything they wanted in a D&W flick and then some; I'll accept that you didn't want a DW movie.
Far From Home and No Way home were great for most except the die-hard Tobey-babbys.
Shang-Chi was a great kung fu movie that sorta degenerated into CGI-slop in the third act.
Black Widow was too little too late.
Love and Thunder and Quantummania and BP 2 were never going to be fantastic with the premises they went with.
The Marvels and Eternals were totally misguided from the first.

I'm impressed by the dedication of your cherry-picking here, even as far as going to a spin-off television show. Lol.
Do better.

This is the first cape movie I've seen in years that I don't feel ashamed to recommend.

Blink and you miss it

True, but moving the overarching story towards endgame in these series of movies was worth it

Unironically one of the best parts of the movie, nay, the MCU as a whole. Defeat of an antagonist that does not involve an actual defeat or a sky beam.

As a fan of the original Sentry comic run: they did my boy good for gis MCU incarnation.

I don't understand what he's supposed to be doing with his jacket in this page...is he zipping it up with his powers? Should I read it reverse-Manga style?

becomes the Tulpa

Becomes the what now????

Any hints of the X-Men yet,how are they going to be in doomsday or secret wars?

No, you're right. I admit it. Marvel has great villains. I especially like that one... you know that one bad guy who was well fleshed out and designed... uh, what's his name again?

I still think that Bob should turn into Void before Sentry and Bucky spending more time with the Thunderbolts

Any hints of the X-Men yet,how are they going to be in doomsday or secret wars?

Nightcrawler actor leaked that he'll fight Mr Fantastic at some point.

Yes Stan phoned it in but honestly they fucking deserved it. That scene of him putting the arm in the dishwasher and spilling food on his shirt was so fucking stupid. All they needed to get across was that he is reading the documents, that could have happened however, why make him look like an idiot? Also it doesn't make any sense why he doesn't call falcon, they are supposed to be friends and sam works for the president but when it's time to bring in the corrupt cia chick she is nowhere to be seen? Ok lol whatever. That being said the movie is overall good and Yelena is a good character but you could tell they didn't know what to do with bucky. The terminator like fight scene though was sick I'll give them that.

Ultron?

Fine, Embodiment if you will. Bob's Void, his inner crushing darkness, is a reflection of what's hollowing out their lives as well.

to be honest I wanted them to show how scary Void can really be but it was alright given their track record of safe adaptations characters that are very comic book-y.
They also never explain where his powers come from or what the fuck kind of experiments can even make a superbeing with the power of a thousand exploding suns, hoping they reveal it was all mutant or cosmic powers at least in the future.
I want to see more Sentry.

You can tell an mcu projects quality from how aggressive the marketing is or isn't. For example, the Ironheart tv show comes out in a month and I bet you not a single person in this thread knows about it, because they haven't even posted the official poster or a trailer yet. But fantastic four has been getting nonstop promo since February, even in unique ways.

Is this worth watching for someone who hasn't seen a Marvel thing since 2021?

Thanos

This would be a cool one shot for a comic but in movie format it just doesn’t work. It just felt very underwhelming because ultimately its just the equivalent of a tie-in comic to an event (them bringing the help of the 4 to help with Doom)

Yep but might want to see Hawkeye first to see the new widow aka her sister

I really liked how they subtly nerfed Sentry by just saying a thousand exploding suns instead of one million.

Yes, don't read the thread's spoilers

Yeah, it's not perfect but it's the best MCU production since GoG3.

What previous marvel projects have you liked? If you like more of the magic shit then something like Loki or Dr Strange 2 might be more your style and if you want street level grounded stories then hawkeye and daredevil could work. Really just depends on what you liked previously from them.

Russian girls HATE having children

This remind me of MCU phase 1, low threat level that escalates but at the same time is quickly contained

but might want to see Hawkeye first

Theres a whole movie called Black Widow that has yelena playing second fiddle to natasha

yea but it sucks, hawkeye is at least cozy and Kate Bishop is hot. Plus who doesn't like christmas?

He's preparing to fly after panels of convincing himself he didn't have any powers

Black Widow is a waste of time desu, just read the plot on wikipedia. Also my brother didn't watch Black Widow and he thought that little girl on the woods was Yelena sister kek

Not that I've read a lot of comics, but Daredevil is one of my favorite heroes. Sentry sounds interesting as a character but I've heard bad things about him in this movie.

Not my Yelena.

I think a lot of the MCU's problems would have been solved if they had released Black Widow between Infinity War and Endgame instead of Captain Marvel. It would have given Black Widow's death more emotional impact and Florence Pugh is a much more likable actress than Brie Larson.

For me, it's my wife Ava

fatigue

People have literally died waiting for pic-related to finally get their big crossover film & they still haven't properly been introduced just endless teases like charles & beast, weren't the X-Men a gigantic part of the gem saga against Thanos & death?

Lots of characters were. Adam Warlock in particular was a major player in it, but he didn't show up until Guardians 3, and fucking sucked.

you know you're in a shill thread when you read this in the title:

Finally saw it. It's probably the best MCU film since

Bob can fix her broken womb ??

People have literally died waiting for pic-related

Good, Milennials deserve death

post mom

Retard

He wanted that (You), and you just had to reward his low-effort posting.

I am very easy to bait.

Kill yourself jeet

Haha you should post your mum as a joke haha

Seems like a good way to jeopardize his tendie supply.

everybody on the planet talking about how much they want to fuck Florence as Yelena

Maybe in Hawkeye before Marvel turned her into an androgynous dyke.
She was a cute blonde bimbo

960x0.jpg - 958x539, 43.56K

This. Why canonically would she even cut her hair? She was at peace at the end of the hawkeye show after getting closure from clint.

b-b-because she cut her hair irl

wig then

Lemme see your moms anon

Given how many "super soldier serum" results we now have in the MCU (Flag Smashers, Bucky, Red Guardian, Walker) it makes more sense to not just mention the Sentry serum.
Judging from Valentina's attitude it seemed like they made a psychic power they thought they could control but soon it blew it up in their face.
I really like how they reference Osborn's manipulation of the Sentry in the comics

...huh
After getting fixed, Ghost has been on Valentina's payroll as a killer for the past what? Seven years in universe?

I have a theory that marvel movies always use the change of hair to indicate the passage of time.

Any sites this on yet? I don't mind cam as long as its good enough

Also Hulk was super soldier serum + gamma rays.

ghosts fix is temporary. if she takes off the suit she is fucked and will die. she needs the suit on to live

Didnt Janet van dyne cure her

In all fairness I never thought Florence Pugh was hot and was straight-up repulsed by her in Oppenheimer. At first I just thought she was an ugly Anglo, then I figured out that she has some base appeal to certain men given she has medieval peasant physiognamy, and THEN I realized I'm personally repulsed by her sexually because she looks like my Mom.
It was an interesting process.

I forgot

Your mom still looks like she's in her late 20s?

i thought so but during thunderbolts she says something like "if i take the suit off my body will disintegrate"

I thought she was insanely cute and sexy in that see through nightie in Don't Worry Darling and everything else of her has just been a letdown.

Your mom still looks like she's in her late 20s?

She definitely looks a little older than Pugh but not by much. Milennials that work for her often think she's a Milennial in her mid-30s until she tells them she's a Gen-X oldfag in her mid-40s. My grandparents on her side have god-tier genes.
But yeah the hair color, the build, and most of the facial structure is all there. It's like a 90% resemblance.

Yeah, she had a better hair style there. Also is it just me or does she have a fake tan in thunderbolts?
Hope you and her have a nice Mother’s Day.

I have to wonder how I would've felt had I seen Brave New World first. Having "It's love TARS" being the solution again so soon might have annoyed me. I hadn't though so hey when you do a Care Bear stare right, you do it right. Helps everyone was good.

Who ever came to their senses and switched the casting deserves a medal. I don't believe the "schedule conflict" bullshit. Someone had the balls to say the truth. Good for them & I hope they get a high level job at the MCU because of that fantastic decision.

It was honestly done much better here. You actually feel the tension from the Void being something uncontrollable. Also the Sentry/Void was not overly spoiled, compared to Red Hulk for BNW

I like to think that they realized that he's just beating himself up

I think that is exactly what happened. It reminds me of a meme a long time ago I saw on pol, something along the lines of Jesus wondering what the fuck the persons problem is because they keep asking for their hardest battle & Jesus is all, "yo...haven't you had enough yet?" or something like that.
I swear to God, they either made this movie based off of Anon Babble posts or my own imagination because damn. Then I hear others say similar and it makes me realize I am not different or special, just a fucked up person like so many others. It's actually kinda disheartening.

just a fucked up person like so many others. It's actually kinda disheartening.

We all need a extra hug once in a while

Hope you and her have a nice Mother’s Day.

Fuck, thanks for reminding me. I'll get her something.

I tuned in for Sentry and surprisingly they didn't ruin him completely. I can't place the movie on a scale but it was for sure better than the last few.

Agreed
That was a HUGE dropped ball

It just dawned on me Bob in the movie wearing a blue sweater and being barefoot during the movie and when realizing he could fly should have been inspired by this scene. This comic is written by Bob's creator, who consulted the movie.

best film in the series since [insert unwatchable shit here]

Oh wow. High praise. I better rush out and get a Disney+ and reddit account right now.

>they killed off Taskmaster immediately (probably to prevent the "New Avengers" being made up of 50% Russians)

That was a good thing. Imagine gender swapping one of the most fun villains. Her getting killed off worked as it established what kind of people the Thunderbolts were, and getting rid of a poorly cast and written character. Not even reading the rest of your post.

sddefault.jpg - 640x480, 60.35K

Even the comics don't elaborate on what the Sentry serum is or why it does what it does, it's a besides the point thing, you're just supposed to take it at point value as a way to produce a Silver Age Superman within Marvel. I certainly wouldn't want to tie him to mutants (Rick Remender already turned him into a Horseman only temporarily), because his history is already kinda convoluted and would probably be handled by a hack writer. This is the best we got from Sentry's debut comic about what the serum does, and it's nuts.

This shit was so kino. One of the few MCU moments to make me emotional
Goddamit I remember crying in the theater when the guardians held hands and Peter quill saw his mom dying

Also the Thunderbolts scene where Yelena tells Red Guardian that her life is horrible and she wants to kill herself broke me a little bit

Daddy I’m so alone

The team already had a capacity of super-soldier/cyborgs, and her character wasn't even able to speak.

Bob in the comics cured his psychiatrist's daughter disease, which made the Void retaliate by giving incurable cancer to a random woman. He's a reality warper, if they really want to adapt Bob's powers he could even transfer his powers to Yelena and turn her into an edgy Sentress while Carol looks with envy.

I downloaded a camrip like a week ago but haven't found the motivation to watch it.

The Yondu/Rocket dialogue hits pretty good, and really Peter's whole relationship with Yondu right til his funeral.
Loki and his foster Mother in Thor 2, The death of Iron Man, the entirety of Green Goblin in NWH, the car scene in Homecoming...there are a lot good scenes in the soulful parts of the MCU.

Should i watch this with my wife?

If you can get the tickets for cheap, yeah I guess.

It makes the most sense, he is too powerful to have around constantly. Thor wasn't as powerful as him and they still had to use the Asgard excuse to keep him off world constantly
She is hot, although she could lose some way right bow

Unless your wife hates funny hairy Russians and the idea of watching the best Marvel movie in a while, yes.

Be sure to keep us updated on everything you haven't accomplished, ok?

You must be talking comics, because MCU Thor was debatably stronger than Scarlet Witch, who was around until she went crazy and died.

Seems like this movie will at best make a small profit, is Disney getting worried?

He is not stronger than the current scarlet witch.

is Disney getting worried?

Probably. Has this film had any major reshoots?

Bob Iger just praised the movie, if they didn't like it they'd keep mum about it, they clearly see it at least as a great direction shift.

At this point they need to rebuild their name, so anything that isn't a loss while reigniting interest is a big win for them.
And this movie being full of C listers never was going to be a huge financial success anyways, there is no way they didn't know that.
Although I wouldn't look down on word of mouth. This could make a good little profit for them

Thor is better in some things, like having a more stable mind (just don't let Scarlet Witch mess with it) and being a natural warrior, but Sentry both in comics and the movies (stronger than all the Avengers rolled into one) is always intended to be more powerful. Just look up how many powers has in the comics, they are legion and the only movie Bob has only scratches the surface.

will she ever get in shape?

I was simply saying that MCU Thor is debatably stronger than MCU Scarlet Witch.
Thor got his ass kicked thoroughly by non-Stone Thanos, whereas the Witch nearly killed him before he called in a bombardment.

Get fit? Maybe if Marvel cuts her a deal for multiple films.
Get skinny? No, why would she do that?

The actor for "Bob" is eerily similar to the one that played "Fun Bob" in a Friends episode like 3 decades ago.

Was this even voluntary? I thought I was tripping the whole movie. Or maybe I'm just too old

For reference

Fun_Bobby.jpg - 2712x1256, 427.3K

Not really, production was very smooth.

They marketed the movie very well and have Fantastic Four out next. They're clearly confident.

They're just both named Bob and have medium length hair.

And the scarlet witch that almost killed Thanos isn't even remotely as strong as the one in dr strange

Get skinny? No, why would she do that?

Because she is a fucking ex black widow, she has to be hot or at the very least fit

Pure coincidence, Thunderbolts' Bob is played by Lewis Pullman, son of Bill Pullman, and he was a late addition as the original actor for Bob was Steven Yeun.

Yes the marketing for this was very good, although personally I don't have much confidence in F4.
Much how this movie was a lot better than people expected something tells me F4 is going to be the opposite.

best MCU film since Infinity War

That means it's pure garbage.

I actually saw somewhere that there has been a pattern of a Marvel movie sucking, the next movie being good, and the next movie sucking again.

So we'll see if the Brave New World/Thunderbolts/Fantastic Four trajectory reflects that. It might be even better for the Bolts and Bob then if they return in Doomsday, no way they don't quality control that.

Yes the marketing for this was very good

market it for the gay letterboxd audience and "absolute cinema" meme

God has a weird sense of humor

Not really, production was very smooth

So all it needs to do is reach around 250 mil to have a small profit, right?

she needs to fit in Natasha's outfit for Doomsday

Such a greedy little guy, but here you go.

Taskmaster dying at the start was gay, overall clearly had the most care put into it

It's better than a lot of MCU movies that were received very well.
Much better than age of ultron for example and that was an avengers movie.

This is untrue, they've repeatedly had disappointing movies back to back, and great movies back-to-back.

What did you want, marketing little children? Minecraft is the kids movie right now and Lilo & Stitch will take over in weeks.

And the A24 was the marketing reacting to Pugh plugging her new A24 movie when she's already done stuff with them, that's just them not sleeping on their jobs.

It really deserves Love and Thunder/Wakanda Forever money, let's hope strong word of mouth gives it real legs.

Any theories on where they can go from here in relation to Doomsday?

Sam and Bucky's Avengers Civil War/Lawsuit with Matt Murdock and She-Hulk ripping each side

Doom manipulating the Thunderbolts with some sob story into helping him

Sentry taking Molecule Man's place in the plot

Bob/Yelena DOOMED love story akin to Bruce/Natasha or Wanda/Vision

steven

The guy who played hero in that tim show heroes?

Nah it was based, she was badly received by everyone and they already have enough characters that just punch and kick.
Ghost already was shafted, if task master was alive it would be even worse. Too many characters to feasibly develop in one movie, so may as well get rid of her in an attempt to create some tension while also opening the way for a proper taskmaster.

Yes the marketing for this was very good

It's like the 30-something highest opening weekend of the MCU, which would be fine if it didn't cost $180M.

sam will never have a team or become captain america.
Sorry but the fans have spoken.

no, the Invincible guy, he's Korean.

yes, they wanted to put a korean guy in a blonde wig.

As you said, Sentry is either becoming molecule man or he is just jobbing, probably both to be honest.
And the new avengers aren't much of a threat without him.

There's a real chance this movie gets bad reviews.

Critics have turned against the Russos

Overly convoluted plot

Expecting people to get hype about geriatric FoX-Men.

Story has had no build up.

So all it needs to do is reach around 250 mil to have a small profit, right?

Eventually maybe, especially because the Thunderbolts are returning in the next Avengers movie so interest will remain. But it's better if it does more than $400 million like Shang-Chi, which was also a debut movie and go a sequel announced, even if I don't think we've heard news about it due to them trying to figure out what to do next. More than $500 million would be peachy.

Honestly without a film prior to establish Doom who even cares?
Doom is the F4's villain, Doom HATES Reed, none of this doomsday stuff of Doom will have any impact without that knowledge of his inferiority/superiority complexs motivating him, if he's just AU Tony, it doesn't matter where they go because its already ruined.
It's not even about being different, they didn't even bother with the core of the character

True, ghost barely got much. Would have been interesting to see everybody in the void more, especially her

Marvel is for kids lmao the movie had that humor

They didn't bother because they couldn't. They fucked up investing way too much time trying to build up the dud of a character that was Kang.
Trying to build a grant antagonist around a man that simply has no acting presence and felt like a complete non threat that got taken down by one of the weakest avengers.
Because of that Dr Doom is more so going to be evil Tony Stark than comics Dr Doom. They simply don't have the time to build him up properly so they needed to make a patchwork version of the character to compensate and add context.

What if he took possession of a Tony Stark variant to trick the Avengers and gain their trust. Then we get the REAL Doom at the end of the film or in Secret Wars

Already having a melty?
Those aren't even movies, just pure garbage, Avengers, Ironman, pure garbage.

That's always been the point, in the Dark Avengers comics (which was intended to be a remake of the Warren Ellis Thunderbolts comic, down to keeping the same artist) it was said Sentry was more powerful than all of his teammates put together when Molecule Man defeated him (Sentry eventually defeated him back).

it's not outright bad but it just looks like some generic vaguely tactical thing. artstation dime a dozen

They should've recasted Majors, even tho he did nothing wrong

There is no MM in the MCU, but Doom will need to get that power source somehow. The only likely candidates are either Loki or Bob

The real doom is so full of himself he would never let another mans face take credit for doom's work,
"No one rivals doom".
It's AU Stark, boring safe and predictable

gets a better reception than the actual Cap in you're path

How does he do it?

Alright, how are these niggas gonna work in Doomsday? What will they even do?!

They should've recasted Majors, even tho he did nothing wrong

He was always a diversity hire meant to make them look good, so getting shafted when he no longer served his purpose was inevitable.
Beyond that his performance was extremely mediocre to kinda awful and he didn't have much merit as an actor beside his diversity hire status, although a lot of normalfags were somehow impressed for some reason.

Everyone fights eachother to get to Loki and then Doom takes Loki's god power.
Incursion bollocks from other film is two worlds smashing into eachother, Fox and Didney movies

I've been reading theories about them getting smoked within the first act, but I doubt it. The Russos are people pleasing fags, so if they brought them back it's so they can scream catchphrases and stuff.

Black Hawk could only dream of having the same charisma as this man.
Sam (both the characters and actor), simply doesn't have enough stage presence to lead anything.

he was awful
Thank GOD he beat his girlfriend or else we would have been stuck with that douchebag diversity hire.

Good movie. I liked it. OP's points are really stupid.

I did think it was weird the impeachment subplot just kind of disappeared. I get that the press setup at the very end was supposed to be the movie's resolution to it, but it's weird that they just kind of dropped that one congressman convening with the impeachment committee or whatever with a big press presence and his juicy packets. Just a single scene where that guy is watching the news of the press event and being mad or something would have tied it up.

Also, it's just a nitpick, but the post-credit scene where they talk about squabbling with Sam over the copyright for Avengers really bothered me.

Why do they even care? It's not like they picked the name or would be the kind of people that care. That scene was missing Louis-Dreyfus' character henpecking about optics and the Avengers brand while they didn't give a shit and were focused on other stuff.

Kang was just a shit pick anyway, like who even cares? Nobody thinks about Kang as one of the heavy hitters, Doom really should have been the pick day 1

The hug that saved the world :)

There is no MM in the MCU, but Doom will need to get that power source somehow. The only likely candidates are either Loki or Bob

It's got to be Bob. Loki is more about manipulating than being manipulated. It's too much of a hassle to introduce Molecule Man (a Fantastic Four character tied to Secret Wars events) in the time they have left, when Bob is already here and defeated him in a comic that also played the being manipulated angle, Valentina replaced Norman Osborn as the corrupt government employee that thought could control Bob only to be terribly wrong.

Does that mean they will kill Bob?
Because that would really piss me off.

I think this is what my mom wants to watch for Mother's Day.

isn't Franklin Richards in F4?

It wouldn't matter anyway since Secret wars ends in a soft reboot universe wipe so they'd just revive him

She'll like it.
It was very good.

Bob only stopped when Walker hugged him though

Sam

a very meh character that started to become outright unlikeable because of how forced his new role as captain america felt

not to mention his defense for literal terrorists

they decide to have him acting like a Karen against the characters of one of the best MCU movies we got in a time

even suing his best friend over a fucking name he claims to have ownership off when he doesn't

It's like they are trying to make us hate the character

I liked him as the Falcon.
I Hate him as the fake Captain America.
He is far too lecture happy. and he just sucks at it. The no power thing is GAY AF

I put it in my calendar with a try to get hype request on Juneteenth.

Also Bob already returned from death twice in Thunderbolts. Even more times in the comics. Sentry's creator Paul Jenkins has a contract to write a Sentry movie if they greenlight it. So if the interest is there it will happen, he's not getting the Taskmaster treatment.

Why is it when i see these panels of everyone shitting on spidey he's always in the right?

Bob clapping at the end was a fun bit

That was one of my favorite parts.
I love Bob so much, I would throat punch someone for him

That is Marc Gargan (Scorpion from Spider-Man comics) turned into Venom and being sold as Spider-Man. He's at the time heavily medicated to supress his man-eating symbiote impulses, enough so Bullseye starts bullying him and calling him a girl. It's actually a bit of a Bob situation.

won’t even break even

KWAB

Why does John still has his taco shield? It shouldn't be a problem getting a new one now that they are a team with proper funding.
I guess maybe the shape might give some perks but still

Ever heard of a riot shield?

Have you? His taco shield is literally nothing like a riot shield my guy

I'm surprised he didn't take task master's shield. Two shields are better than one, right?
Taco shield is more like an arm shield. I don't really see how it's better.
