"It's not deliberately camp. I made the film in a 1930s style. It's based on a Saturday matinee serial from the 1930s, so the acting style is very 30s, very theatrical, very old-fashioned. Method acting came in in the 1950s and is very predominant today. I prefer to use the old style. People take it different ways, depending on their sophistication."

He obviously did this with the OT too. I'm not sure how people didn't notice the acting and dialogue was similarly "stiff". SW has never been carried by Oscar-tier acting and screenplay.

the OT characters behave like normal everyday Americans.

the OT characters behave like normal everyday Americans.

No they don't.

t. never watched The Empire Strikes Back

yeah they do, I was watching the storm trooper disguise scene the other day where Luke persuades Han by telling him Leia is rich, it was like overhearing a conversation in a bar.

I use a lightsaber all the time

Okay? Fuck off.

Actors in the 30s were loud and animated because they were used to acting on stages in large auditoriums. Everyone in the prequels acts like they're falling asleep from antidepressants.

No person other than Americans in the world would tell somebody you might get a monetary reward if you help out

You're a fucking retard. Die.

fuck off, you're probably Scandinavian.

Watching Faint by Linkin Park with scenes from the Clone Wars was peak

Disney shills have really been working overtime lately

whats wrong with scandis?

I'm not but at least I am not fucking delusional making completely retarded statements that everyone knows is stupid. Like some chink or African or literally any ethnicity wouldn't be motivated by money. You're an idiot.

they're not real Europeans but they defend Europe with feral intensity.

Uhm but they are northern Europeans

Post about Americans

Lmao, retard

You must be Scandanavian!

You're on crack, nigger.

Not at all. I remember my parents would chuckle at some of the lines and scenes. Luke is actually a whiny bitch in ANH but that somehow gets forgotten.

Everyone in the prequels acts like they're falling asleep from antidepressants.

Most of the characters are literal monks.

There's a species of heartfelt...guilelessness, I suppose, to the presentation of AotC that I'm fine with
The problem is that it's plotted stupidly and inconsistently and doesn't take itself as seriously as it should, which is to say that it's the silliest of the prequels in a way that is not flattering

That movie felt very long to watch. I appreciated the worldbuilding but some CGI aged bad (especially on Geonosis) and Hayden Christensen's acting was very cringe. I understand that you cannot imagine that guy will be Vader.

This is still better than Disney sequels.

Luke is actually a whiny bitch

Wow you mean he had a different attitude as the story progresses? Who would have thought? I guess in your world character arcs don't exist and Luke should have been whiny the entire trilogy.

Luke is actually a whiny bitch in ANH but that somehow gets forgotten.

Because the dorks who self insert as him are whiny bitches too.

I loved the gladiator battle

it's cool that you remember your parents but I'm remembering a scene that I watched 4 days ago.

He goes from whiny bitch to weirdo autist. Not appealing to anyone but nerds.

SW has never been carried by Oscar-tier acting and screenplay.

Well, yeah, Oscar-tier acting and writing is shit and boring and Star Wars prioritized fun

I, I, I purposely only pretended to be retarted

DELETE THIS

Klar.jpg - 720x960, 61.76K

Who cares? It's still a fulfilling arc until Disney. He was just some dude who had no idea of his origins and his adoptive parents were murdered. He was autistic BEFORE about piloting, just like his father.

Apparently you don't understand the implication of what I'm saying. Yes, our POV is our POV. From my POV, and I've watched Star Wars end to end over 10 times, the OT is obviously quite similar in terms of camp, acting, dialogue. It has never been sophisticated or a strengthof the series.

From watching boomers (who are neutral and never became big fans of the show), they think the OT is just as silly as OTboomers think the PT is. Because it is. It is objectively a silly fucking concept. It's space wizards and space knights and it ends with the big evil space wizard getting bested by the power of love and some tribal teddy bears.

You're just being retarded for the sake of bait.

Boomer boomer boomer

Will you just shut the fuck up? My father was Gen X ('65) and took me to see TPM and he was quite ecstatic to watch a new Star Wars with us. We had already been shown the OT at that time. Just shut the fuck up with your multiple "boomer" labels. You're insufferable.

He was autistic BEFORE about piloting, just like his father.

Sure, but he isn't compelling like Anakin was and doesn't look like Hayden Christensen.

My father was Gen X

Gen Xers arent boomers.

What. The only reason Anakin is compelling us because the mystery behind how he turned into a Sith Lord. Don't get me wrong, I liked him. But his motivations were ultimately a let down.

Why are you getting so mad fuckwad

No shit. But you not only typed boomer but "OTboomers."

Because you're a gigantic nigger faggot. Happy, nigger faggot?

This is my issue with the rape scene in Andor. It's just uncharacteristic of star wars, it should've just been implied. It really speaks to how retarded Hollywood has become that not a single director can make a fucking star wars movie.

that's why his star wars movies are timeless and appealing to all ages

I barely paid attention because my gf was watching it. I thought she lied about being raped raped to distract the imperial officer so she could shot him. Did he (the officer) actually rape her?

has an incest storyline

they don’t act like Americans

Oi brava. God save the fookin' queen.

But his motivations were ultimately a let down.

How so?

Because Padme died anyways then he didn't even question it and his children were taken away by Obi-Wan.

this. there is no difference between the acting in star wars and other contemporary films

Everyone in the prequels acts like they're falling asleep from antidepressants.

to the envy of the audience

despite having three entire movies for development his switch feels rushed and even out of character
he literally goes from being furious about not being granted the tile of a master to kneeling before some half dead nercomancer and calling him his "master" like the obedient slave
I understand the irony of the dark side only promising, never delivering and only taking but it would be more in character for him to just go for the sheev right after offing windu
but then his downfall just came down to muh pussy imma go kill children now this will definitely save padme

You don't even understand the concept of "contemporary" considering you typed "other" despite it being from 50 years ago.

weirdo autist

RLMfags are really the worst posters here. he wasnt autistic he was reserved, disciplined and controlled
normal people don't behave like your spastic kind

he isn't compelling like Anakin was and doesn't look like Hayden Christensen.

bwahahahaha. what history revision is this? luke was the hero of at least 40% of the fanbase
christensen is a literal who for anyone but retarded millenials. and HE IS NOT darth vader

You're sperging and sharting your pants like a retard while completely missing his point. Acting like a whiny bitch, just like Luke in ANH.

The rebels do. Luke and Han mostly. Leia switches around at random I guess because she's royalty.

The Imperials are led by guys like Peter Cushing, James Earl Jones, and Ian Mcdiarmid. All classically trained stage actors.

then his downfall just came down to muh pussy

We get it, you're a loser.

Yet here you are replying. Stay mad.

Why didn't you reply to me, the original poster who brought it up?

he wasnt autistic he was reserved, disciplined and controlled

Hamill just couldn't pull it off like Liam Neeson could.

please be bait

contemporary /kən-tĕm′pə-rĕr″ē/

adjective

Belonging to the same period of time.

"a fact documented by two contemporary sources."

I am going to murder innocent children and all of my former friends, lose all of my remaining limbs, get immolated and encased in a metal cage until I die because of a vague dreams about a dying woman I later end up killing anyway

yep, it's winner time

hamill was excellent while neeson was mediocre
this is reflected by the legendary standing of the OT while TPM is considered meh

Yes, you retard. There are vast differences between the films released in the same time as Star Wars.

Ok coon

Ok nigger. Bye.

do you want to gloss over the fact that you're a retard? okay
nobody back then thought

oh the acting in star wars is different from the acting in other movies

and in fact nobody does today either

Some things you missed

his mom already died, after the Jedi forbade him visiting or protecting her

he was a fatherless slave boy so already deep rooted insecurities regarding control and safety

He wasn't allowed to publicly love or protect Padme either

the council weren't friendly to him at all, only Obi Wan. They treated him like an outsider even after years of loyal service in war, and even turning over Palpatine himself.

finally

all of these fears, insecurites, and premonitions culminate in a heated moment where Mace tries to extrajudicially execute the chancellor without a trial, confirming Palpatine's claims that they were out of control and power hungry

From there, obviously, things happen too quickly, be it adrenaline, force intoxication, whatsoever, he is taken over by a mist like a berserker. But there was tons of buildup that you apparently missed. You haughtily assume he can see the future like you can, since you watched the OT already, he can't, and contextually speaking the Jedi are not his friends, are not helping him, and look power hungry and crazy too.

Seems like you are coping because The Shining, Smokey and the Bandit, etc premiered at the same time. Star Wars was new and fresh and completely overtook them though those two are still remembered fondly.

vague dreams about a dying woman

His wife, sperg. And he had similar visions about his mom dying and those came true.

I am going to murder innocent children and all of my former friends

They weren't his friends and he had to do that to grind for Dark Side EXP.

It actually made less sense to me as a small minded kid than it does now. It makes perfect sense now. Remove your viewer biases: knowledge of the OT, of the emperor, of the dark/light side. Look at it neutrally, contextually, there is tons of pressure on him to flip sides as his side was doing nothing to assuage his anxieties or even look anything other than corrupt and useless at best and power hungry at worst. This incarnation of the Jedi is one of decadence. They are blind, apathetic, and arbitrary with their rules.

They were initiates in a dogmatic religious cult that acted as enforcers for the previous regime which Anakin correctly identified as being unfit to rule the galaxy. As is the theme with his whole life up until he chucks Sheev down a hole, Anakin didn't have much choice in the matter.

That said, I think the scene would've been improved by him ordering the clones to firing squad them rather than doing it himself.

I HAVE THE POWER TO SAVE THE ONE YOU LOVE JUST KILL DINDU FOR ME

Okay I killed him please help me save Padme's life

Oh right sorry I can't actually save her but I'm sure we can figure out how to do it before she pops in the next few days just betray all your friends and kill the younglings for me

Prequel fans WILL defend this but go into hysterics over Holdo not telling Poe her plan

hamill was excellent while neeson was mediocre

You're showing your bias, bro. Nesson had the presence, look and attitude to pull it off. Hamill just came off as some weird robot.

Wait no. I'll admit my mistake. The Shining came out as the same time as RotJ, I think. But still it is within the OT range.

Or perhaps Sheev insisting he get his hands dirty himself, as proof of commitment to their movement. A "can't turn back now" moment.

He was desperate. He'd try anything to save his wife's life.

this is why I wrote that despite having three full movies the turn feels rushed
utlimately it isn't his implied authocratic tendencies shown in episode 2 that lead him to his downfall
it isn't his frustration with jedi cold indifference towards feelings
it isn't the war trauma
it isn't the trauma of being separated from his mother
what is shown is him getting mad over not being mastered by windu and then sheev manipluating him into believeing he can save his wife
he trusts a sith lord he knows for certain at this point is a proven liar and manipulator instead of confiding in Obi
I can understand he didn't want to reveal his secrets to Yoda or Windu, but he didn't even trust his best friend of all people when he has zero reason not to

I assume Anakin expected Palpatine to help him oversee the childbirth and work together in the moment to keep her alive with magic. By the time that moment comes up, Anakin is already going full Isildur and having Dark Side influenced delusions of grandeur. Padme very quickly becomes a secondary goal to the acquisition of more power, which Palpatine likely predicted.

But of course. They saw how successful the rerun was last week and realized nothing they’ve made since 2016 has been received so positively.

A "can't turn back now" moment.

Given that he just killed the Master of the entire Jedi Order, yeah.

That too. Either way, Anakin never stopped being a slave his entire life.

It also looks awful and the characters are terrible.

it isn't his frustration with jedi cold indifference towards feelings

it isn't the war trauma

it isn't the trauma of being separated from his mother

It is because of all that. It was a combination of factors that led to his fall.

Then Anakin is not a good person who did not deserve redemption

You know there’s a difference between these things, right?

Thanks for your input Yoda now go back to your shitty hovel.

and yet what is ultimately shown is him making a decision pretty much on a whim instead of falling bit by bit

That could conceivably be defended though in the heat of the moment with Mace himself about to commit a crime. It isn't truly despicable until you are slaughtering Jedi youth in their temple.

but he didn't even trust his best friend of all people when he has zero reason not to

Because Obi-Wan follows the code and Anakin thought he'd snitch, when he knew the whole time and never said anything out of love for the man he sees as his little brother.

Spoken like a true virgin. If you wouldn't genocide a galaxy to save the life of your pregnant wife then you've clearly never even had a non-prrgnant wife.

there's theatrical acting and there's shitty acting
some actors, mainly the older ones, did great "theatrical acting" in it
the younger actors were just shit and sound like they HDR all their lines and the HDR is horrible

PREGANANANT?

There is ~8 hours of screen time showing the build up actually. Apparently you have never heard of a "culmination" or "climax" or maybe you have memory loss, who knows.

It's a straw that broke the camel's back situation, bro. Use your head.

I checked.

So you definitely didn’t watch attack of the clones, got it.

It's all of it. It's literally all of it. Are you incapable of having tons of things pile up and drive you over the edge ever? Maybe this is an issue with your own thought process but most thinking people don't snap because of one thing, lots of things build up and then the "straw that breaks the camel's back" arrives.

ADR*
im dumb

I wouldn't murder children to save my wife from dying of natural causes, ESPECIALLY not based on the false promises of an obvious charlatan. You're just another narcissistic sociopath who feels seen by Anakin and enjoy that he is constantly rewarded for his awful behavior

constantly rewarded for his awful behavior

Is this bait or do you actually not know how things went for Anakin after that?

They weren't "children" they were "Jedi in training." Let me try to think of an analogy that might work for your reddit brain: imagine the SS brownshirts had an academy where they brainwashed kids to be special forces from a young age, this would be like Jewish Anakin busting in and shooting them all knowing they would pose a threat should they survive and go on to seek vengeance.

the culmination point should've been him getting "leaked" intel about separatist leaders being on mustaraf, going there and deciding that the best course of action is just offing them all right there, which is the point of no return
then he comes back and instead of being hailed a hero the jedi look at him in disgust and there's only palpatine to back him up
what happens is him being a jedi knight, cutting windu's hand and then suddenly becoming the dark lord, simple as

Are you incapable of having tons of things pile up and drive you over the edge ever? Maybe this is an issue with your own thought process

What?

but most thinking people don't snap because of one thing

You just snapped over a post and went on a rant. What else is bothering you then, anon? And no, I am NTA.

It was all necessary because he was fulfilling LE PROPHECY and he gets to go to heaven because he murdered another bad guy for selfish reasons at the last second.

should've been

Like clockwork.

It was all necessary because he was fulfilling LE PROPHECY and he gets to go to heaven

Not actively, dipshit. This isn’t like the Kylo theories where he was supposed to be a double agent playing a long con. He lost everything and decided to just commit to evil until his son begged him to renounce his evil ways.

no argument

as expected

Seems like you are under the assumption that Anakin wasn't overdosing on redpills since he was a teenager. The guy wanted the Republic to be replaced by a totalitarian state before the war even started. Finding out that Palpatine was pulling the strings behind both factions probably didn't bother him. He might've even been impressed by it.

i3nEvwn.jpg - 407x407, 15.95K

But it was never implied she would die from natural causes. He had no idea how she would die. Then in the end she didn't die from particularly natural causes but a broken heart after giving birth. No dying from a dude you love strangling you and causing you stress right before giving birth is NOT natural causes.

You just snapped over a post and went on a rant.

NTA, but that guy didn't snap or go on a rant.
Bro, your issue is that it wasn't something you would've wrote. That's not a criticism. Judge it by what's actually there, but do it competently.

Prequel Anakin is a malignant sociopath who revels in cruelty and there is no actual "redemption" for the character. I have to completely compartmentalize and separate Vader from prequel Anakin as different characters because RotJ's ending is hideous when paired with the heinous shit Anakin does in the prequels

This basically happened anyway. By all accounts he was a war hero, and Palpatine vouched for him. But the Jedi didn’t trust how close Palpatine was getting to him and trying to influence the order, and so in turn they didn’t trust him. This lead to him feeling alienated with only Palpatine to confide in.

Prequel Anakin is a malignant sociopath who revels in cruelty and there is no actual "redemption" for the character

You didn't watch the movies. Or if you did, you didn't understand them.

The guy wanted the Republic to be replaced by a totalitarian state before the war even started

and he did nothing to bring it about until after he turned to the dark side

Finding out that Palpatine was pulling the strings behind both factions probably didn't bother him

he seemed pretty bothered about it and even considered killing him on the spot

This lead to him feeling alienated with only Palpatine to confide in.

They alienated him from the start, all the way back in TPM when they rejected him.

He literally went on some existential bullshit and claimed another person wasn't capable of his supposed higher level of reasoning.

I made it bad on purpose, therefore, it's good

Obi-Wan refers to Anakin as the senate's poster boy after he saves Sheev. By this point in the movies, Anakin is definitely a known war hero especially since he's so friendly with all those politicians.

he did nothing to bring it about until after he turned to the dark side

Because he wanted to be a good Jedi so badly. He'd just ignore those thoughts since they went against the Jedi way.

I wonder if prequelcucks can understand the concept of liking a movie while admitting it's flawed

I understood them fine, I'm just not a sociopath on the autistic spectrum like most Anakin fanboys

No matter where you are you have about a 1 in 5 chance of fucking your cousin if she of the same ethnicity. Almost all historical relationships are incestuous. It would take thousands of further generations to get to our current global population without it.

He literally went on some existential bullshit

No? Are you that low functioning? People break down after getting piled on by so much bullshit in their lives. That shit happens all the time. Why is this so difficult for you to understand? Are you not human?

revels in cruelty

No. Not at any point. He’s on the verge of tears when he confesses his crime against the tuskens as well as when he slaughters the separatist leadership. The latter even shows the tears go down his face after the deed is done. The music choice for both scenes don’t paint these as positive moments either. These actions aren’t supposed to be interpreted as anything other than Anakin dooming his own soul.

Yeah he was trying to play by the rules as much as he could at least in public. By the time he kills Windu, he can go all out and goes crazy with power. But he wants to kill the Emperor just to take his place, not for any of his malfeasance.

I'm just not a sociopath on the autistic spectrum like most Anakin fanboys

That's rich when it's the fugly dorks who go around claiming the tall and handsome Anakin is a creep and schoolshooter. Know your place, freak.

friendly with all those politicians.

Playing devil's advocate here but who is he friendly with in the movies? Sheev, Padme, and JarJar? I don't honestly recall him talking to other senators (in the movies)

Do Americans Really offer monetary rewards for goods and services?

I'm a Jedi... I know I'm better than this

the chief complaint back in then was they cast this actual FAGGOT as Darth Vader. you wouldn’t remember.

Well, you talk like a fag and your shit's all retarded.

Camp, cope and camp again

George won, seethe about it disney shills

I like attack of the clones while recognizing its flaws. All you’re doing is saying

durr prequels bad becuz [headcanon][copecanon][spicfiction][NCB]

and you need to be told you’re retarded.

I don't honestly recall him talking to other senators (in the movies)

Bail Organa was literally the first senator he spoke to when he got back to Coruscant.

You misunderstood because you are that anon and in your vast comprehension of the human mind and universe you didn't really how hypocritical you were. You got mad again and resort to name-calling.

Anakin is based on both Jesus and Lucifer. Both are meant to be pretty boys.

You misunderstood because you are that anon

Nope. Different guy.

You got mad again and resort to name-calling.

Bro, grow up. You're talking like a child. Come on.

Don't worry, scrote. There are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick-ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded. She's a pilot now.

You're right it's mostly just Sheev and Padme. But he doesn't act at all shy rubbing elbows with the politicians after he saves Sheev and he's pretty brazen with his secret marriage with Padme in front of them too. Jimmy Smits is standing right there watching him when he goes to make out with his pregnant wife. I'm sure they were all aware of it but they've all been to Palpatine's Island so they aren't going to throw stones in that glass house.

I like episodes 1-6 while admitting all are flawed. It's silly. But I love it. I didn't even realize a prequel hating contingent existed until like 2015 when the sequels were being announced. I just assumed everyone realized Star Wars was Star Wars and not serious atmospheric drama. If you don't have the autism for it you just don't.

well of course, the best camp comes from a place of sincerity. fake camp is a complete gamble. you either get danger 5 season 1 (classic) or you get kung fury (complete and utter dogshit)

what is bothering you then

People claiming that things that did happen in a movie didn't happen and then acting coy after getting called out for it

How the fuck is saying "name-calling" talking like a child? Would you rather me saying being a bitch prick? What?

Ah right. He does do things with Padme so it wouldn't be surprising he runs into other senators. Fair enough.

People take it different ways, depending on their sophistication.

Uncultured prequel haters btfo

How the fuck is saying "name-calling" talking like a child?

Are you seriously asking me that?

Then you should neck yourself because you are here forever and this is the norm. Sorry, bud.

Yes. I really am considering it is a legitimate phrase. I ask again what would you use as a replacement? "Talking shit"? What? That makes you more of an adult? You're absolutely pathetic.

Do we still think the name "Sheev" is funny? Seems like everyone is used to it now.

I like to imagine a world where the first movie flopped at the box office and sorcerer became the template for hollywook blockbusters and we got a few decades of lucas being a working director.

"Talking shit"? What? That makes you more of an adult?

Yeah.

You're absolutely pathetic.

Bro, you're autistic. Your opinion means nothing to me.

Yeah

How fucking ironic that some little faggot calls another person a child over basic language skills then calls me autistic. There is something wrong with you, kiddo. You're probably 18 or some shit and want to give off the idea of being an adult despite,.again, being a little faggot.

But he wants to kill the Emperor just to take his place, not for any of his malfeasance.

the most illiterate take itt
palpatine isn't even the emperor at that point, Anakin is furious standing in the presence of the very person that started the war, his "I would certainly like to" doesn't come from him wanting to take his place, he is clearly angry
you didn't watch the movie

Whether you like the prequels or hate them it's pretty easy to ignore the people seething about other people's opinions on the matter.

rogue1 is best star wars

When is Luke a whiny bitch?
The cantina scene when Han is obviously fucking him and Obi Wan over for more money?

Calm down, bro. It ain't that serious.

Not a good movie.

The power converters scene.

Then why did you reply in the first place?

From my point of view it is a good movie

The Imperials and Jedi are all Shakespearean Brits to convey a sense of ancientness, exoticness, and sophistication, in contrast with our rebel protagonists like Luke and Han, who are supposed to be relatable working-class laymen. The problem is that the protagonists of the prequels ARE the weird autistic Jedi, so it's impossible to get invested in their conversations or dynamics. Maybe that's why Clone Wars is better. It focuses on the clones, who make for more relatable main characters than the awkward space hippies

Ah I see you want some (you)s to build you collection. Here you go, homo.

there's a difference in a kid growing up on a farm whining about wanting to break out and a kid jedi in training whining about nobody understanding him and it all not being just a phase, padme

I was talking about after he killed the separatists. He didn't kill Sheev after it was revealed he was the Sith Lord they were looking for for a couple reasons: Palpatine was the only person in the whole galaxy who was willing to help him with his issues more than to just tell him to have a stiff upper lip and deal with it, and he was disillusioned by the Jedi and didn't have the loyalty to them that he once had. He was still very confused in that whole scene. He let Palpatine live with the last vestiges of respect for the Jedi way that he had only to walk in on Windu electing himself executioner. That was the hypocrisy that broke the camel's proverbial back. By the time he was killing separatists he had come to view the ends as justifying the means with a sprinkle of Dark Side meth on top.

A desert farm harvesting moisture with sand people constantly mucking about and Jawas being total Jews to them. HOWEVER you can say the same thing about Rey before she became a Mary Sue which did not take long.

I liek discussing star wars even if it's just autists shitflinging :3

I also enjoy flinging my shit at you so it's a symbiotic relationship, faggot. Thanks for watching! Don't forget to hit like and subscribe. Or whatever those niggers say.

a kid jedi in training whining about nobody understanding him and it all not being just a phase, padme

You mean the former slave who was forced to leave behind his mother and was treated like an outcast by the other Jedi? The guy who was plagued by nightmares of his mom dying, only for them to come true and losing control because of it? That guy?

Because why not?

he's full of shit

anyone remember the scene in sw77 where han solo is negotiating with obi wan kenobi? The scene is noirish and han seems like a dangerous guy. But then immediately after that scene we see han talking with chewbacca and he's acting really light and boyish talking about how the money is going to save his ass and it tells the audience that the scene with him acting dark was just a facade. there is nothing with that kind of simple wit at any point in any of the prequels

if Vader wanted Luke on his side in ESB to overthrow the emperor then why didn't he let Luke just slice the emperor in ROTJ but blocked his strike instead?
all he had to do was do nothing and win

Because you're probably in school right now and you should really focus on your History class.

Deep down he was conflicted about his son falling to the Dark Side which killing Palpatine would have 100% led to. That whole plan was just a way for him to avoid having to commit more filicide. And Vader was a very loyal slave his whole life. Old habits die hard.

a very loyal slave his whole life

he threw a tantrum because he wanted to be a master

Yeah he's unstable. Also, the council was a bunch of shitheads who didn't know how to handle him properly.

Then stop being simple, midwit.

which killing Palpatine would have 100% led to

It's kinda implied due to Vader tossing him but I disagree to an extent. I feel like it was more of Anakin's regrets and realizations of his own mistakes that made him assume Luke cutting down Palpatine would absolutely lead him to the dark side. The Jedi fucking slaughtered people en masse, even Yoda. Luke theoretically should be able to recover from justly killing a horrible dictator.

another ep 2 thread

Is this Anon Babble's favourite film now?

Oh wow, Luke was upset his Uncle slapped more chores on him when he wanted to go out. What a whiny bitch. God forbid anyone show any fucking dissatisfaction when their boss tells them their closing depsite already having plans.

Anon Babble's

Anon Babble's I meant to say

Why wouldn't Han lighten up when talking to his best friend in the entire fucking galaxy?

It's bad on purpose

Oh, okay.

fuck off rich evans. your takes on star wars suck and have always sucked. stick to fucking star trek

by who? a 20 years past-his-prime writer/director/producer? whoop-di-fucking-doo
next you're gonna quote cameroon and that old crank ridley scott

it's just one or two baiting retards

It's a comfy movie.

You're a fucking idiot if you can't realize it's dozens of people based on their posting. A genuine fucking idiot.

The Jedi going to war is a whole mess of character flaws and hypocrisy on its own. I don't think that story was there to give Luke an excuse to enforce his will upon the galaxy by killing its emperor. If anything that was there to present more caution against it.

But it's a good scene specifically because there's so many ways to look at it. It's pretty nuanced.

I think Luke needed to be the better version of the Jedi in the end of that movie. To do that he had to forgo attachment and ambition, including even killing his ultimate enemy. Sounds silly but when you consider that the optimal Jedi are those that don't use their power to enforce their will on anyone else because that fast tracks you to the Dark Side, a political assassination becomes an unfitting start to the rebirth of the Jedi.

Optimally, though, Jedi are also the gatekeepers to other Force users using their abilities to dominate others, so killing Sith is a matter of course. Luke optimized that function by redeeming his father rather than killing him as his masters wanted.

lol no. it's always the same one or two people who create these idiotic prequelbaits

Luke optimized that function by redeeming his father rather than killing him as his masters wanted.

I think people misinterpret this despite RotJ itself making it clear. They thought killing Vader was the only real solution, and it's not hard to see why. Even Luke almost dies and it didn't go how he thought it would. It's not as if Yoda and Obi-Wan were cynical assassins. Vader was a monster. Obi-Wan had already tried and failed the redemption strategy.

I HATE THEM

Yeah he feels soooo guilty about it lmao

Anakin Skywalker created a generation of incels. They think that being a fascist and screaming at women is how you get them to fall for you, but since they don't look like Hayden Christensen and they're not in a movie, it doesn't work and they freak out

I mean Luke practically singlehandedly blew up the Death Star which was home to what, a couple million people? Why the fuck would he suddenly be a bad dude for justifiably cutting down Palpatine? It really doesn't make sense when Luke had already personally killed millions. Maybe some justification in "well he just shot the lasers and didn't ACTUALLY kill anyone with his own hands".but come on. He directly killed millions and honestly this should have been used as justification for him becoming insane but nope. He just had le vision.

Yes he would, the point is that it's not 1930s serial acting. Because that's just post facto justification from a fat old retard that can't handle that the movie that made him richer than god was mostly just amateur serendipity

They think that being a fascist and screaming at women is how you get them to fall for you,

do zoomers really

Also he wasn’t a Jedi at that point. But anyways the final confrontation was about resolving the themes of the Jedi and the Force and the Skywalkers. Less about winning the war. That torch was picked up by Han leia and lando.
