Where did they film the exterior stuff for the Senate? I would have guessed somewhere in London
sploosh
:(
What the fuck were they thinking?
the massacred our/boy/
Turn-The-Lights-On.jpg
Hair down Kleya is hot.
Chu lookin' at, whyte boi?
Andor has a whole new structure built on the front of it.
Fun fact, that structure is an irl building in Valencia, Spain. You may also recognise it from one of those windows wallpapers
OH N-
I love Andor because it specifically tickles my "Love to compare fictional military units" autism, tell me I'm not the only one who like doing this, even when I was a kid seeing episode 1 I was already doing that...
So did he only have two of his original staff at this point?
wonder what happened to the rest of the imperial civilian bureaucracy on Ghorman
Cassian is one evil mofo. First he erases Kyle Katarn from canon, only to erase Star Wars Rebels shortly after. We have reached Gundam levels of contradictions
I love Andor because it specifically tickles my "Love to compare fictional military units" autism, tell me I'm not the only one who like doing this, even when I was a kid seeing episode 1 I was already doing that
And that show has so many new units and soldier types...
no idea but it looked so fucking good, it was so nice to see expansive locations for coruscant, star wars media world building since disney took over has been cramped and low budget as hell.
Gave me real Iraq in the occupation vibes
Probably evacuated
Has any of the Andor stuff been added to Star Wars Wargames like Legion?
Will they release some kind of art thing or a encyclopedia book for Andor? they didn't release one for S1 so I'm hoping they were waiting for the whole thing
the force runs girthily in you...and veiny.....slimy....pulsating...
It reminded me of the final season of Westworld.
Why do droids need to sit down?
because they were ordered to do so
Where was the Gorhman stuff filmed? Man this show truly shows how the volume technology, while it can be used for good things, also has a lot of limits compared to the full set way
It's neat how they showed that force users were already considered sharlatans only 20 years after the public saw the blast through hordes of droids using magic like powers.
htarv
Syril's worldview completely crashed down. He believed in the rule of law, right and wrong.
When he found out that the rule of law he was upholding was actually more criminal than the Rebel he was opposing, he unravelled. Seeing Cassian broke his stupor and he reverted to baser emotions.
The galaxy is big, so in a way I feels like many people have never seeing Jedi in their entire lives
the stars of the clone wars, weren't the Jedi, it was the clones
he was so happy being on a field assignment...
The last episode literally refers to Ezra's crew from Rebels.
Now I'm wondering how Andor will lose his Bryer Pistol before Rogue One
What the fuck was this guy's backstory again? Was he even in s1? I totally memoryholed him
I think it's more that he attacked Cassian because in his breakdown, he blamed him for fucking over his life and leading to this event, if he had not pursued Cassian, he still would have stayed a regular corpo agent and living a relatively mundane but orderly life.
ourguy speaks
"I think Andor has opened up a new avenue for Star Wars to explore. When I was watching season two, I got really affected by it,” Soller recalls. “There were moments where I felt like I was just watching an exceptional piece of television, and then I was like, ‘Oh yeah, it’s Star Wars.’ Andor has actually transformed the medium of this universe into art, and man, I am just proud to be a part of it.”
hollywoodreporter.com
Just one of the many many many examples of wasting time showing something that could be grasped in 10 seconds.
Art book with stuff from both seasons got announced at Star Wars Celebration. Current release date isn't until March 2026 though. Probably no encyclopedia since those are marketed for kids.
He, just rewatched S1. He's a lot younger in that.
Kyle was never Disney Canon, and it's for the better that he is in a better place being the deadlist Jedi in Legends
your picrel is from S1 so yes he was in S1
it looked so fucking good, it was so nice to see expansive locations
Somebody PLEASE throw The Volume in a dumpster and set the ashes on fire and bury the ashes in a landfill in the worst part of Iran or Iraq or something to keep Disney execs from digging them up.
It's cool. Go watch the Acolyte or Ahsoka.
His backstory is that he's based
When he found out that the rule of law he was upholding was actually more criminal than the Rebel he was opposing, he unravelled.
When specifically did he find this out?
they were for kids??? I remember those actually being really good even for older fans, they had load of cool details
Isn't it weird how every blaster pistol Andor ever owned is actually a modular blaster?
You can just say you forgot who that guy is, zoom-zoom.
I think Kyle in current canon would only work if he's basically a legendary person who doesn't actually exist, like a fictional character in-universe or a rumor everyone keeps spreading around about the dude with enormous exploits
There is literally nothing wrong with the Volume.
Disney and Filoni just suck at using it.
Lived on Ferrix. Father got killed by the Imperials. He was the guy who threw the bomb that escalated the riot even further - recorded speech by Andor's mother, Imperial covering up the droid and then kicking it, Brasso bashing the Imperial with the brick and riot begins and responded to with riot police, bomb thrown, Imperials start shooting.
and Andor was like .."bro wtf??"
I miss it bros. I miss him just walking around to work where he’s just comfy and in charge, occasionally seeing Dedra. Could’ve been a great slice of life
The Bryer pistol was always kinda meant to be a shortened Rifle, sort of like the Obrez in the real world.
I think Volume when well used IS very good, but it shouldn't be abused like what was done with Obi Wan and I think Boba Fett
they should keep it, but use it more sparingly or/and in tandem with full sets, Mandalorian season 1 made good use of it.
The big circular plaza was Pinewood Studios, apparently it took up the majority of the space that Lucasfilm had allocated for them.
When he confronted Dedra.
So how'd he turn from ferrix instigator into andors best pal?
He's Bomb Boy from S1. Arguably he's the reason for all the deaths at Ferrix
It's cool that places like this just exist in the world now. But sci fi productions rarely take advantage of these types of locations because filming abroad can be expensive to the point CGI is cheaper.
I wish it be possible to visit the set before them destroying it but it's probably already too late
they introduced jedi
Well we almost made it to the end it was a good run,
the Ghorman stuff was shot over a year ago in Feb 2024
Not sure I would say he is Andor's best pal but, basically off-screen between times skips yeah.
Cassian knew Wilmon for years. They then spent like a year together on that farm planet. And then an other one when they were both fully working for the Rebellion.
the force healer isn't a jedi and is basically a low tier users like the blind dude in Rogue One
because filming abroad can be expensive to the point CGI is cheaper.
especially now, thanks to emperor palpatrump
'''Jedi'''
oh the tariff shit also is touch this? fuck, unless they find god tier place in the unless this mean they will use volume even more
rarely take advantage of these types of locations because filming abroad can be expensive to the point CGI is cheaper.
You're unironically retarded if you think that, a shitton of European brutalist and futuristic locations are used in Hollywood productions.
Buffalo City Court Building is suited for dystopian police states.
I honestly though that Syril wouldn't put a fight against Cassian but he did, sure Cassian was much better but I didn't expect Syril to last that long to the point where he got the upper hand
Was anyone else bothered how slow the rate of fire was on the stormtrooper guns in this episode? It's like they didn't have a full auto mode.
Luthen and Dedra are probably going to fight in the last arc but I have no idea what Andor and Mothma will do. With Syril dead that also makes one less character to follow
Ghorman was entirely a set build I think. The plaza and the streets. It was the Ferrix of S2 which the crew also built the entirety of from scratch. The only real element of Ghorman I think is the geography which is ripped straight from Colico in Italy, the valley is identical.
Got the jump on Andor, rage, and Syril (even if not on the level of Andor's experience) reasonable has some training/experience given he was once in security.
He was pretty much in a complete autistic rage so I guess that helps a bit, dude was almost feral
Cassian was much better
Did you retards miss the point where syril was about to kill andor if it wasn't for him changing his mind and french deus ex machina?
The world would be better off if The Volume didn't exist. It's not like Disney is saving money or anything their budgets are still outrageous and The Volume just makes everything seem cheap and indoors even when outdoors.
The establishing shots are way more egregious
Syril might have been a maladjusted doormat of a person, but that didn't mean he was physically weak. Especially when fuelled with primal rage.
Do we see stormtroopers ever shoot at that rate in the webm in any films or shows?
So who was that Sniper anyway? A mercenary? A ISB special agent ? he wasn't a stormtrooper, a regular soldier or a security trooper
They were slow on purpose. To terrorize more.
Not the same gun, Anon.
So who was that Sniper anyway? A mercenary? A ISB special agent ? he wasn't a stormtrooper, a regular soldier or a security trooper
Why does it matter?
Describe a character's arc with a single image
Cereal
who the hell knows it changes every day but id say the odds are high... very very high.
A Sith Lord
Because I like to know about all the units I think it's cool
how does a blaster work and why is it nearly always one shot?
in my head, the blast is so hot it vaporizes some of your blood for an instant kill, but then Wilmon gets shot in the leg and lives.
Am I the only one who didn't really like the set design of ghorman?
I don't expect them worldbuilding an entire city, but it literally was
plaza
street leading to plaza
rebel bunkers
That's it.
Also why the fuck do ghorman, literal fashion moguls live in a drab and grey city with fucking dirt roads?
Just an Empire Sniper could have been ISB, could have been special forces, could have just been the best shot in the unit/company It's not like his shots were hard
The entire point was that Syril was fighting like a possessed maniac witch is why he won the fight. Plus he's an ex cop so its not like he isn't trained. The entire point of him winning was to make the point that Andor was like "bro wtf?"
depends on the blaster type, the one used in the massacre were all imperial weapons and some pretty powerful ones, so it was mostly one shots there, it's why the Ghorman managed to kill even a few stormtroopers
fuck game of thrones for mainstreaming the le unexpected death of a main character
Will our loyal Scottish sergeant avenge our boy cereal?
unexpected death
Literally everyone who doesn't show up in RO is expected to die
Whatever the plot needs.
Do you think Bix got B2 back ?
ISB special agent
I'm disappointed he never turned up again.
I guess someone will expand his story in a Comic or a book at some point, like every other Star Wars Side character
IRL, Blasters would be immensely powerful. Absolute game changers.
In Star Wars, their effectiveness depends on the plot.
Will the final arc start just a few days before Rogue One or there's still another time jump between the end of Andor and the movie?
Yeah, that makes sense. I just thought there might be some super autistic lore to the blasters. I feel like I remember seeing people in the movies get shot in the shoulder and living.
A Sith LORD?
Gundam’s contradictions aren’t of the impossible variety, just unlikely. Star Wars’s contradictions are basically game breaking.
That said, anything Filoni made deserves to be de-canonized.
Luke, did I ever tell you about Exogol? A shrouded world, lurking in the abyssal depths of the Unknown Regions. A nexus of pure, unadulterated darkness. The Emperor... Palpatine. He isn't merely a man, Luke. He is a formidable master of the Force, a conduit of the dark side's most terrifying powers. He delves into forbidden, unnatural secrets. He has woven a web of immortality, creating clones of himself. Palpatine cannot be defeated by normal means, Luke. Whatever this so-called Rebellion might achieve will only be a fleeting moment of peace before the weak Republic inevitably faces a new Empire, born from the shadows of Exogol. And he was a good friend.
Truly has the false flag look to perfection outside of the imperial logo
they've said it'll run right into whatever Andor is doing when we first see him in RO on the Ring of Kafrene
Syril's ark was over.
The only things left for him were to be killed, suicide or to become a bitter Rebel.
not Andor related but I just watched Skeleton Crew because Gilroy recommended it and it actually was quite good, I feel a bit bad about the show ultra bombing as a collateral damage of Acolyte
It wasn't Andor level and the tone was very different from even regular Star wars but it was nice
Three more episodes of Andor next week until it's done forever
It's wild that these fags don't wear masks. Like bro. All the police and special forces in the world wear masks. Always. Especially on protests. You know why? Because they can dox you and come for you and your family. Basic opsec. Yet in Andor, only stormtroopers are masked.
How will Dedra end ? death star agent? killed by Luthen? Suicide out of guilt for Syril ? killed by Syril's mother?
the ghorman front old guy knew syril planted the bait
so the fucking French knew it was a trap by the Empire but they still went ahead and went to the town plaza and protested? they brought their downfall on themselves
This is now a Skeleton Crew thread
neel before us
Thank God
I recently looked at Disney's Star Wars selection, and other than Andor and maybe Mando, it was abysmal. I will check this out. I ended up replaying Jedi: Fallen Order instead of watching any of these terrible looking shows.
I'm sure Marvel will produce some Andor comic out of notes Gilroy left in Lucasfilm offices about what arcs they didn't bother producing due to cutting it down to 2 seasons
the movement from the start had clear issues and even just before the attacks they kept bickering with each others, it wasn't a well planned rebellion.
I'm gonna watch rogue one and episodes IV-VI right after
Unironic confession: I've literally NEVER watched the original trilogy in its entirety. I only know the "famous" scenes, stuff like the father reveal, Luke training in the swamp, the ending, destroying the desthstar or the snow battle
I had a sneaky feeling Bix was going to be the Final Girl and survive.
Getting tortured then raped and then murdered on top of it all would have been too dark even for a show like Andor.
Building the plaza with the connecting cafe, hotel and bureau interiors would've been a lot of work but yeah the plaza doesn't feel as big as should be for the city center. But then I realize that also serves the story because it traps the Ghormans in with the stormtroopers. If it was too big and open it wouldn't hit as much.
But we don't see as much of the city as I would've liked. You can make out the giant promenade up to the plaza and bridges. Plus the area where Rylanz's shop was looked a lot more spacious but I'm guessing that was an actual location shoot because they shot from limited angled and I could make out some ordinary look buildings through the glass they forget to edit out.
Yeah I thought it was fun. I liked the droid. I hope Starfighter has a similar just fun, standalone adventure feel.
Logically, promoted, respected, feared, dead inside, but sitting in a very high ranking position on the Death Star.
uncle harlow
Only the old guy knew. The rest just didn't listen.
The Ghor's undoing was their pride.
the animated show beside that sequel one were pretty decent, but many star wars fans refuse to watch them because they are "for kids"
(while some of the same also refuse to watch Andor because it's "too serious" ? I don't understand them)
Some of Visions iepisdoes are pretty good
Uncle Harlo
kek
Starfighter will either be this or it will be another Gosling Literally Me "Drive in Space" (that's good too), but I'm not expecting a classic star wars story out of it
ya clone wars has some really good arcs that are very adult at times but also has alot of filler childish shit
Yes Skeleton Crew is one of the best Star Wars streaming shows I think but I think it being led by kids and coming after Acolyte hurt it. The creators even have second season for that planned with the kids being older but who knows if they'll make it after they cancelled Acolyte when that had higher ratings. I think it's for the best Andor wrapped with two seasons considering Disney seem to be pulling back on the streaming shows now.
what did he do for him to be considered a "very low criminal" ?
I have nothing against the animated shows but I have zero interest in any Republic era Star Wars content. I'm one of the "Prequels have no redeeming qualities" boomers.
Clone wars pretty much is better if you grew up watching it, the show gets darker as you get older.
Skeleton Crew
when is this show set? post-Empire?
Dedra is like that German grandma who used to work as a secretary in a concentration camp when she was 17 years old and was charged with murder by the New Republic.
yeah some period as Mando
I think it was more Dedra trying to demean Syril's mom.
We don't know what uncle Harlow really do, but he does have connections within the government and the underworld.
the Senate interiors (with the actual pods) looks so flat and boring compared to the prequels.
oh well it's TV, i guess it has a lower budget.
i thought. but then the exteriors are gorgeous as fuck and full of aliens and shit. especially these last couple of episodes.
what's going on?
The slide in quality from promising start was epic. Like truly something else. I've noticed a lot of these Star Wars shows have no knowledge of how to end the seasion so they just kind of shit the bed and peter out. Same thing happened with Ashoka.
I think it was confirmed canceled, at best they will get a cameo in that final Mando movie and that's a big if
Around the same time as Mando, but in a completely different part of the galaxy and a different cast
prequels are peak star wars content you fucking lead brained retard.
would it be gay if Uncle Harlo is just one of Luthen's other codenames? I wouldn't put past him to use his own family to fuck over the empire
She lives. Some press lady who'd seen all the episodes gave away that Dedra survives the show when interviewing Denise. And the fact that they built up this big thing about killing Dedra this week and Cassian kept failing just clinched that for me. But if she does get assigned to the Death Star that's still ambiguous because Tagge survived in canon.
what's going on?
The empire happened
Sets versus actual locations
All the empire exteriors outdoors especially in the last episode are irl locations
Tagge survived in canon.
only so Vader could kill him later, and he was defined in ANH as the guy who thought the Death Star was dumb.
Rape and Jar Jar exist in the same universe
The way they did Jude Law's character at the end was retarded and it basically ruined the show.
When you accidentally crush your finger but not enough to cause serious damage
HIS NAME WAS SYRIL KARN
HE WAS A HERO
oh man fuck imagine if AMG hadn't mishandled X-wing so bad, we'd get Cassian's Avenger, Luthen's freighter, maybe some extra stuff.
i mean i'm glad, don't get me wrong. but look at these couple of clips:
youtube.com
camera actually moves about and such. close-up shots of actors' faces. more establishing shots in general. (show the mushroom building. do a painting, everyone likes paintings.)
i can close my eyes and i know exactly what Mon Mothma standing in that pod set looks like - and only EVER looks like.
tfw running low on rhydo
Guess they had to redecorate after the Sidious/Yoda fight trashed it
I kinda liked it desu, he wasn't a complete monster but him staying a giant selfish bastard to the end is cool, not everyone need a redemption.
Yeah he had a very incel rage moment and it cost him his life. We all have to be better men.
George Lucas here. Luthen lives, and he's getting a spin-off. It's why he's taken a backseat in the rest of Andor. His backstory is yet to be revealed. He is not a Jedi. Stellan is nearly 80 so the show will mostly be a set-up for Bix and Kleya focused content post Rogue 1.
Starfighter will be half Drive half The Nice Guys.
Lastly, currently I have Kathleen Kennedy hooked up to a Gorst torture machine, and she has yet to cry out or scream, and this is concerning me far more than I ever could have thought possible.
G-Luke, out.
To make people think they're more human and not just metallic death.
Dedra's last shot being smug but sad about Syril aboard the Death Star would technically be surviving.
why did Palps stopped using these niggas? they were fucking throwing people all over the place and no blaster could kill them so why the fuck would you replace that?
b-but money
what does he need money for he's a fucking wizard
Nah. That entire turn sucked and was complete dogshit.
is it true you knew the man, the myth, the legend: SuperShadow?
how is he these days?
The time skip was felt more with this one as packed as this arc was. I think Syril's actor implied he'd had a relationship with Rylanz's daughter which is part of why she slaps him and his discomfort when Dedra kisses him. And I was also bummed we didn't see Perrin at all. Not even a shot of him watching Mon's speech. Some people speculated she'd divorced him or sent him to Chandrila to protect him but they gives us no hints there. Their relationship seemed to be improving in the last arc and then he just vanishes from the plot.
my guess is that the empire simply was too smug and thought they were winning, and they put more and more resources in the two death star
Daedra is pregnant. There will be a spin off show of her in command of a fleet wearing an imperial baby harness.
He allocated the budget to huge 4 legged monstrosities that could be easily tripped by some wire.
what does he need money for he's a fucking wizard
why does he need an Empire then?
Mick's a cool guy. Drinks a lot now.
the robots were stupid.
but to be fair i completely forgot Andor had a robot friend in Rogue One, so i guess they have to explain it.
Oh I'm not letting you trash my glorious AT AT like that
Palpatine was supposed to protect the Empire (Republic) from the Confederacy in the early days.
Him using droids to as tools of war would be extremely popular even among his supporters. The droids on Ghorman are more akin to a "fuck you" to the local populace. "The Empire won, you can't do shit" kind of thing.
The actor must have had a stroke or something. Luthen now has a lazy eye he didn't have in S1 and some shots sound like adr
scene of Dedra being denied maternity leave by the Empire, another travesty she has to witness and mentally sweep away.
I come to these threads to see tomato
In my head canon they are exactly as deadly as bullets but have some sort of shock that knocks you out or hurts a lot more, explains why there's almost no people writhing in pain and when it hits someone they notice instantly even in high adrenaline situations where you might not notice a bullet
who was the kid Andor killed?
why does he have the scar?
it's Star Wars so i'm not keeping track of what's 'important' because the rules are all over the place. (sometimes people get hit in the arm and fall down because it's kids' cowboys and indians stuff, sometimes it's a serious wound that might also get infected and cause PTSD.)
Stellan did have a stroke. He mentioned it in the press for S2 he had to have an earpiece feeding the lines to him in case he forgot them.
Hopefully she is gone for good now and the last arc isn't about her.
Why does he wear the mask?
for me it's the one Forest Whittaker scene where he isn't doing the voice.
what happened there?
(glad that Moustache Turncoat got acting lessons between the two series - good for him.)
He did have a stroke, a few seconds after Kleya got in his face. You can actually see his rock hard boner in one of the scenes.
Comics have them still in use throughout the Empire's run. So it's just one of those things where Lucasfilm shrugs and says they're around, they just happen to never be visible in OT movies.
they killed my goat he was just like me fr
Oh shit, that sucks.
I didn't feel it as much with some of the other time skips. Andor killing the kids felt like good backstory to create some drama between him and Bix. I felt lit more with Syril mainly because I found his whole arc with the Ghorman Front interesting but then he fucked off back to Coruscant. Would've been more interesting to learn about them through his eyes and become sympathetic to the rebels but that was skipped over.
THE SHOW IS LITERALLY ABOUT TO END NEXT WEEK AND WE STILL KNOW NEXT TO NOTHING ABOUT HIS MISSING SISTER
Nah, he just didn't want to learn them, simple as
Do you really want them to spend time on stupid bullshit like that? It's not compelling. She's lost, it's a big galaxy and sometimes you have to let go.
In a world without the empire he could have spent his time fucking Bix and searching for her, but no.
it's Daedra
He was slurring his speech too but he's probably too famous to record his dialog again and Disney was forced to use what they had.
Those are like big heavy machine guns.
t. Played a shit ton of Battlefront
You faggots better pour out a cold one for the death of Stellan's acting. Kino has been dealt a blow.
cereal slowing realizing the truth
the false flag shooting
the massacre
the radio transmissions
"who are you?"
star wars is never getting kino like this ever again is it
Seems to be so fucking random.
I really love, like those zombie stormtroopers with the gold armor, this was really cool,
BIX IS HIS SISTER
its so star wars
How long were they together? There's gotta be like two years of Syril/Dierdre relationship lore for the franchise to mine in the coming decades. No way we've seen the last of them.
massacre
A massacre is an event of killing people who are not engaged in hostilities or are defenseless
They clearly had weapons and were preparing to attack.
god i love this show but i also hate it beacuse i know damn well we are never getting another star wars in this level of quality now the bar is set too high
by Azura's Star!
i dont fucking care about tying the story to some shitty movie I watched 1 time years ago
dont ruin what was a good show just for the sake of continuity
who fucking cares except manchildren?
they stopped telling good stories in favor of aligning with a terrible one
all of those people had no idea the rebels were planning to go loud
replying to imperial disinfo posters
C--C-Cassian, where are you....?
No, they were just going for a sing-a-long.
was he just off on planet leave this whole time?
i just assumed travel in Star Wars took days tbqh. i know they have hyper drives, but still.
I was at the massacre, yesterday!
i swear getting around Coruscant takes longer than just zipping to another planet. wouldn't mind some more space travel downtime in Star Wars, but they 'skip to the good stuff' even in-universe.
disney and rogue one/andor is one giant anomaly in the disaster of disney star wars. i dont know how it exists.
what the fuck was going on in episode 3
grandma moth wigging out to fucking skrillex on the dance floor and the rape scene back to back
which episode?
do you consider the newbie imps that were sacrificed to set up the false flag good guys or bad guys? obviously they were set up but they are also imperials so what now huh Anon Babble?
watch some imperial shows up and rapes B.
if there's a downside it's that this is starting to look more like Star Wars. i liked how much of S01 was innawoods and maybe a Stormtrooper/alien would walk past. a lot more of that is up-front-and centre now.
music has been a huge downgrade too. BRING BACK THE SYNTHS.
You're a moron, lmao.
It fires superheated tibanna gas in the form of a short plasma bolt that's roughly a million degrees hot. The shock to the nervous system would probably make everyone pass out or die.
i mean that's the implication so they just don't give a fuck. they're loyal to the Empire: not to every new recruit. nobody stops to mourn Stormtrooper UIK-2249, why would they care about random Palpatine Youths?
Did anyone else notice one of the senators was the Spice King from Game of Thrones?
Before I pass on from this mortal coil all I want is a Jedi story Andor style. Specifically an original KOTOR era story filled with GoT style political intrigue.
i WILL will ths info existence.
kotor was disneyslop before disneyslop, zoomer.
Mon was coping that her childhood friend was about to get murdered.
bombing as collateral damage from Star Wars 'fans'
ftfy
always go full Andor.
Shut up, retard.
the dudes are emerging
Nice argument, shit for brains.
his speech at the end of S02E05. the scene starting 45 mins in.
really sounds like he's straining his voice: rather than doing the husky, crazy yelling. maybe it's meant to be muted and more understated, but it sounds like a non-actor talking in 'the acting voice'. he lapses in and out of it.
i mean i'm sure he has no idea what the fuck he's saying, just that he has to put SOME kind of inflection on it. but shit's weird. (maybe it's just me.)
did monkeyboy forget about ROTJ?
Man, that girl was always a bit retarded.
But I didn't expect her to be as retarded as Star Wars Theory.
They do, but they have to balance it out with other considerations. Your example pic is some jap shit right? They wouldn't shoot in Japan just for one building. Think of the travel costs as well as the difficulty in hiring production staff that can understand English.
If you're a canuck, you'll know that Hollywood uses Vancouver all the time and the unique buildings there.
We all want that. None of that High Republic trash tho. Go back to... I'm no expert but I think 6,000 years before Yavin. Sadly it's probably never going to happen, or maybe as a cartoon showed to test audience and dismisses as being to niche. Why even live
rapist in a story does all the trademark Rape Theory stuff
i mean would she prefer it if they DIDN'T write it that way?
(rapists i've known IRL were drunk and/or mentally ill. they knew the victims and wanted sex. there wasn't some mystical 'it's about power dynamics!' nonsense going on.)
I have seen every SW movie at it's original theatrical release. I know what I want. Which is a story set in The Old Republic told Andor style. I don't even care about the KOTOR story. I never played the games. I just like the setting from the cutscenes. The setting would be perfect for something like Andor.
Same.
What did the people who control hollywodd mean by this?
Way too many 'member berries and "stepping around" Rebel's canon.
Both are problems with getting too close to established canon. Andor was at it's best when it just did it's own thing.
I'm now convinced that season 1 was good by complete accident.
I mean, it was clearly an allegory for a South American migrant getting raped by ICE just because the ICE agent could get away with, which does happen in the meat-packing industry in the U.S.
Feels like attack of the clones dialogue, too high concept so the actors don't know how to say it.
How?
Can?
She?
Slap?
Lol
I don't think it's going to happen. Disney simply does not understand good Jedi lore and neither does Filoni.
For me it would be the great hyperspace war with the first season devoted to Sith Politicking around the title of the next lord of the sith with the season ender being the arrival of the hyperspace scout twin tards
too much
literally just one thing
Okay
was he about to betray her? why was he so salty
Bix
glup shitto
star wars names really do be like that
High Republic
No for the love of God no. They would have to go back like 4000 years. To the Old Republic area so they could tell their own stories with their own stakes. No limitations of being tired to the current era.
yeah i unironically agree with the parallel, i just don't get the wording of her tweet. if she had written something like
and it was portrayed as titillating the rape victim fell in love with her rapist and Tumblr University taught me that's WRONG
then i'd get it.
if her objection is just that rape does not belong in Star Wars (or media? ever? does she read books?) then why include that specific detail? surely it should make the rape scene better if it's all ACCURATE to REAL RAPE and WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON.
Kotor is Disney slop
Calling someone that knows Kotor a zoomer
Ok zoomer.
Rebels isn't canon.
he tried to pull out, Mon doesn't like that.
The whole point was we don't know. Tay Kolma was talking about business with a known scumbag who has a vested interest in blackmailing the Mon Mothma and the Rebellion if he ever were to find out he was unknowingly financing the Rebellion.
Mon believed his death was unnecessary, Luthen wasn't ready to take a chance.
i like boobs
Bail Organa
Mon's Speech
Ghorman
Yavin 4 base
Robot
I see why your being so defensive, but this has been the entire season.
Season 1 randomly went off into a multi-episode prison-escape plot line. And it was new, a bit pointless, and yet incredible.
yeah maybe it's just that when he's saying these things to characters in the scene, it's all there and then, happening in the scene.
when i was a child, i saw my father die!
is just telling a long, rambly story. guessing the actors/extras were just sat there doing nothing.
i would like some consistency. how many times has a stormtrooper get hit in the shoulder and drop dead? if they were as effective as bullets, it'd still be cooler to need a couple shots to take someone down. it's energy and plasma, so lean in and show the smoldering burn effect to show it's painful to get hit.
leia got shot in the same place as many characters who got instagibbed
Andor is the Chosen One who will get the Death Star plans.
Screenshot this.
I was worried after first 3 episodes but it's actually crazy how good this show is.
You sound mentally ill. Don't gaslight yourself about something if it's only gonna make you upset, anonny.
Rebels isn't canon.
Then they shouldn't have been so careful stepping around it in episode 9. Like just have Cassian retrieve and deliver her to Yavin. Make it a whole episode. They'd have more time to talk and we'd learn something about our characters who have had very difference experiences.
High Republic
It was fine in concept, but they never managed to direct the ideas into a strong story. The books/comics were a jumbled mess and Acolyte was a wet fart. They had plenty of room; they just dropped the ball. Going back further in time wouldn't guarantee anything good. I don't think the old TOTJ comics were that good to begin with.
Are you okay, Anon?
So the humans have to stand.
Filoni
Definitely not. Filoni is for animation only. A live action Old Republic drama would have to be from an outsider with true filmic kino credentials like Gilroy.
ok rlm shitbaby
i bemoaned the same thing earlier in the thread.
it's tonally different and all that, i mean Han did get shot and it was just a wound. but i dunno this series HAS had armoured characters just fall over, so i don't know how seriously to take getting shot with a laser blast.
equally, i'm just assuming the tall robots were flinging people to their deaths: they died of blunt trauma. but part of me was expecting them to stand up and go back to fighting/running. maybe with a slight limp.
Mon's cousin in Yavin picks up a blaster, seems like she recognizes it
Asks who it is
Pan to some guy who raises his hand and says "it's mine"
Scene ends
What the fuck was that? Is this some reference to something?
those are toilets, anon. that's why everyone looks so uncomfortable.
the start of season two was a bit shaky cause of spamming characters, then i looked up who the fuck they were even talking about most of the time and uh... yeah...
It's a Rogue One reference.
Same guy also show up in the prison in season 1.
Snee
d
He was never canon to Lucas either.
*looks into camera* :|
Add it to the list
at least Orson Krennic is a good name, imagine if he was called Snur
I'd be up for this but only if they keep the crazy pseudo-Egyptian aesthetic.
Who belongs to this?
swing-and-a-miss at a radicool line.
but yeah i guess it was her gf's, or something? he inherited it?
or/and we're suppose to know who the fuck he is.
omg it's Krokodile Dunoon from Rebels!!
The Empire is lethal in the Andor-verse. Plenty of good guys have died from just stray random shots.
Anon, you're watching a prequel show to Rogue One. And it's about to get "worse" next week.
actually yeah my bad on this. it's clearly the prison bloke, just forgot him.
3manycharacters5me
The same reason he stopped using these niggas, apparently. Because they did not exist in 1977.
just noticed in my screenshot
poon tip
what the fuck hahahaha
Orson
Luke
Actual Earth names are rare in SW.
Dedra is so fucking hot I’d eat her tastefully styled pussy from the back.
Syril didn’t know how to handle that woman until he choked her. Imagine how wet she got.
None of this was forced.
who the fuck remembers Rogue One?
i barely remembered Andor, and he's the main character.
Then you can watch the move right after episode 12, Anon.
I get what you're saying, but the meaningful stuff that makes the show compelling has been between the momentous established bits, for the most part. It's using that material as narrative yardsticks or deliberate contrast. Chewbacca showing up in RotS is retarded memberberries. This is just the story going where it always was headed.
Where would these niggas show up? they were strike force rather than defense, so they wouldn't be on the Death Star.
Hoth and Endor I suppose.
why didn't they (Disney) use the ones from Dark Forces?
If there is a more kino stormtrooper design I can't think of it from the top of my head.
This is my favorite trooper design.
Could be Army Special Missions, they did false flags (or “Political Gain Operations”) in Legends.
Oh wow, that egregious. The scene hinges 100% on having watched Rogue One. That must be the absolute worst callback (callforward) I've ever seen.
Is Luthen a Jedi or not
Also why does this season suck ass so much compared to the first
yeah i'll rewatch it. maybe i'll appreciate it more, or something. i'm one of those killjoys who didn't like it. but i'm enjoying this a lot more.
still, even as a big epic prequel to a prequel, i don't remember Andor's reprogrammed robot friend. i vaguely remember a blind monk guy. that's about it, from the team.
only thought during that reprogramming thing, "oh i guess that was a Rogue One character" and sure enough...
Hoth
What are snow troopers
Are you retarded?
Stormtroopers but with snow equipment/training?
Answer my question
Why does this season suck so much
Death Star, anywhere with Tarkin and everyone else at the Death Star room, Hoth, Bespin, Endor. Literally anywhere.
i clocked him as a jedi in the first episode
its obvious to anyone with double digit IQ
its you who sucks
Is Luthen a Jedi or not
A Jedi? Jedi have a code! Luthen doesn't have the soft luxury of a code. He does what has to be done when the time calls for it.
(or some other ambiguous non-answer.)
It doesn't. Next question, retard.
i think a reasonable explanation is the amount of force needed to quiet the rebellious parts of the galaxy dropped over time. palpatine converted a fully stocked and teched military down to a flattened military force with a few scary machines. at the start, you'd need drastic measures like death troopers and super droids to take control. not to mention the recruitment potential of seeing those and wanting to join the empire. it started out as a powerful, self-feeding machine.
over time, after you gain control and stamp out sparks of hope, your powers shift from dominance to maintenance.
Luke: Your overconfidence is your weakness
and that proved to be true. he thought the galaxy was his, he thought the rebel alliance was a pitiful little band. granted, at the time of death star 2 it was, but it's a space movie and i aint gotta explain this shit
RETARD ALERT
And also Tantive IV.
the first one ended up being popular so they did 'populist' things. if this had a series 3 you'd get a lightsaber fight (but with an Andor twist like it's really quick and brutal rather than twirly. or they use them as bayonets.)
I enjoyed it quite a bit. What did Gilroy say about it?
I want to see that cold bitch dedra cum and her cheeks flush with orgasm
What’s the anime trope for melting the ice queen with your penis
That is essential
Cyril dead
And I should give a fuck about the rest of the season… why?
I liked Purge Troopers from Jedi games, though they are just reskinned Utapau clones.
Dedra actress never watched Rogue One, but said she will after she watches Andor s2.
I like that Steve Urkel was in it
You shouldn’t. They killed my chud bro. The rest is just rushing to connect to Rogue One
his based scottish sidekick's revenge
Is Luthen a Jedi or not
Also why does this season suck ass so much compared to the first
he SHOULD be an ex Jedi who has fully cut himself off from the force to stay hidden. I have a feeling they were originally going for this but changed course due to fan backlash about some gay purity ideal of no Jedi in Andor.
S2 also has a chance no match S1 in the number of quality story arcs for the season. S1 had two out of four arcs (2 and 3) that were kino. After this weeks kino S2 has a chance to catch up and tie with it's final arc but who knows it will be kino or more meh like S2 arcs 1 and 2.
It will all be kino if Luthen turns out to be ex Jedi though.
Probably after Mando s3, but it's self-contained. There is a nikto pirate in both shows, and the female bounty hunter from SC is rumored to be in Mando movie.
These same people are the ones laughing at you when you say it's a children's series and they retort with "no it's now adult, grow up chuds".
You wanted a mature Star Wars, so you'll get the whole package, faggots.
so we can find out if his uncle is Andor's sister.
The one thing I dislike about Andor is that it's a constant reminder of how bad the sequel trilogy was and how little worldbuilding they did. The quote about working around Rebels canon confirmed this for me. The fact that we've had to go back between the prequel trilogy and a prequel to the OT and find a sliver of time in which to tell a coherent and interesting story instead of with the swathes of new lore that the sequels were supposed to create is embarrassing and immersion-breaking. Why are we still talking about the Death Star, the Rebel Alliance, and Stormtroopers? I honestly feel apologetic towards Gilroy and the other writers he's working with, as if they had just stumbled into my untidy house. What a gargantuan handicap the sequel trilogy is to any talented creator who wanted to write something original in this universe.
Unfortunately they can never fix the damage Sequels did to SW lore. Even watching something good like this you keep thinking it all leads to complete retardation.
His investments went bad due to Rebel activity, ironically, and he wanted money, from Mon or Sculdrun or whoever.
since this will go on forever they're going to start doing stuff about the First Order and who the hell will care? i couldn't even care about them in the films (were they just a lil group, or had they retaken over the whole Empire, or what?)
She's definitely the aborty type.
They can always go a 1000 years in the past or future. Old characters are dead anyways and remaining actors won't last much longer.
K.K. is the only person in the company keeping the ST alive. They clearly want to steer clear of it but she keeps pulling them back like gravity what with all of her lame Rey movie announcements.
Maybe a dozen people in a crowd of hundreds were armed.
THE EMPIRE DID NOTHING WRONG
It’s a corpo blaster that Andor stole from Syril, used on Aldhani, then hid on the beach planet. Later he gave it to the guy he escaped prison with (Melshi) when they were on the beach planet.
That movie is dead and Mando movie is going to be a giga flop burying that period of SW forever.
If only my king Syril would have looked the other way for five seconds.
The entire Mando storyline is a prequel buildup to Snoke and TROS. Just pretend in your headcanon like it doesn't all end in a trainwreck.
3d-mon.com
and it can be yours for only 15USD plus tip.
I'm trying to get Cassian and Syrils blasters but I can't find Syril's one for free
So glad she confirmed it for the world two days after most people already watched it.
this
those "peaceful" protesters started throwing shit at the troops. fafo
Tony Gilroy draws a lot from real history with Andor and while I don't think he's said this out loud Luthen seems to be heavily inspired by Jean Moulin;
Jean Moulin met Charles De Gaulle, a WW1 and WW2 hero and future French president, in London. De Gaulle was at the time the head of the Free French Forces and gave Jean Moulin a secret mission : to unify the various résistants (because at this time there were several cells operating on their own) and create a secret army for De Gaulle. He was trained for several months for combat and spying, and returned to France anonymously using a cover : he changed his appearance, his identity he passed himself as an art dealer, and opened an art gallery. Jean Moulin also used various codenames with his fellow résistants, his most famous one being Max.
From that you could extrapolate a general idea of what Luthen's backstory might be.
Stellan did have a stroke
he had to have an earpiece feeding the lines to him in case he forgot them
Man...
Yeah that was weird, nlike what about that blaster specifically made her ask? But the guy was Meshi who escaped Narkina V with Cassian, which you should have remembered.
hes a legend, no one even noticed.
Retard, the scene hinges on having watched season 1.
what's going on?
THERE’S BEEN A REBELLION SIR
that's horribal, that is happening in my country right now :(
who the FUCK has Chekhov's kyber crystal right now?
You are weak minded. You control the story in your head, my guy. You can choose to ignore anything you don't like and go with what you do like. It's fiction. None of the sequel movies matter if you don't want them to.
STONE AND SKY!!
Even watching something good like this you keep thinking it all leads to complete retardation.
yeah like this Rogue One prequel they've put out.
eternal victim anonymous
ROCK AND STONE
Where the hell do you live anon?
better watch out or ill make a brick out of you early
he lives in amerikkka
the UK, in real life.
but i'm just assuming
SIR
is implying i'm an ESL Indian.
i'm just retarted.
The problem with that show is that it was marketed as Stranger Things and with kids as protagonists, I have no interest in that to be honest
my favorite line so far
what kind of being are you?
You guys should be so lucky as to have a rebellion. From the outside it looks like you've collapsed.
I think he was going to be ex Jedi but I'm worried they chickened out. It's literally the only thing that makes sense and any other explanation is simply "subverting expectations". What really has me worried that they chickened out is this season they stopped dropping subtle hints like they were doing in Season 1 which makes me think it's a preemptive retcon.
I can't believe Lando Cassian owned the sky palaces of Andor the whole time. He probably hung out with the ewoks.
My initial take was that he had a relative who was a Jedi, maybe a brother or a son, and them getting slaughtered pissed him off.
He had a relative or a son
The Jedi don't really operate that way. All family are cutoff.
I know im the only one on the planet but Ahsoka was kino there I said it
if you look at the history or rebellions irl, people hide in the plain sight of their previous lives. Luthen was a lover of history and of antiques. That's what he did.
Learn to compartmentalize. I do it with the prequels and sequels.
when I see kino I post, "damn, that was kino"
when I watch shit I post a lot about how upset it made me
For example I called the show Blandor and went on alot about how much I hated the first 6 episodes
but episodes 7-9 were pretty good
Agent's campaign in SWTOR is the closet thing to this, and nothing will top it. You don't play as the Jedi, but force users are heavily involved in the story, especially on the Imperial side.
Return of the Jedi already damaged the lore even more. The Death Star was supposed to take an enormous amount of work to build over 20 years and then somehow they're able to build a second one in 2 years without much effort plus the whole Ewok thing
A guy carrying around Kyber crystals and an empty hilt with a ship that shoots lightsabers out it's side and he was set on his current course right around the time of Order 66
Not a Jedi
That is some moon sized subverting expectations. There is ZERO doubt in my mind that is what they were setting up from the onset. They only question is wether or not they changed course since then.
I can remember nearly every line from GoT/house of the dragon, I could name almost every character and their relation to every other character, their house, sigil, words, and general themes
I couldn't name more than 2 characters in this show including the main character, when people talk about random characters from earlier seasons like that guy in the prison or that bomb kid I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about
I get really bored and start having trouble following this show
Is that other idiot Rick Worley still seething over Andor?
that doesn't mean he's a Jedi. Luthen was already collecting all sorts of rare things so it's not surprising he could get kyber crystals and hilts.
He hasn't seen Contact
Why build one when you can build two for twice the price.
shoots lightsabers out it's side
They're just basic lasers. It's not even the first time we've seen them in Star Wars.
imperial agent was kino
tfw manipulating sith like they're my puppets
getting revenge on those pieces of shit who brainwashed you and made your character say different things than you choose in the dialogue wheel was also extremely satisfying
tfw clue ignorer
Kyber crystals and hilts and a ship THAT SHOOTS FUCKING LIGHT SABERS
Did you believe her when she told you Tyrone was just a friend as well?
Can I get a webm of "Colonel Yularen's on Line 2"?
Where's the excitement, where's the key jangling?
There is not key jangling
You shall be... Blandor
It's okay anon, that just means you're retarded.
Mothers and NFL players have a lot to answer for.
