I can stomach occasional product placement. Lots of shows and movies I like sporadically have an episode that lingers way too long on a car decal or has some character making weird offhand comments about how much they love their new game console.
But I do think if we had to fully rely on product placement as the main means of funding entertainment, it would get so bad none of us could stand it. A pretty good example is the Chilean television channels forcibly inserting beer ads into old Star Wars reruns- I think Cerveza Cristal?
