Elden Ring Movie might be real
Who will play the loathsome dung eater?
what kind of ring are you?
do you have to see the movie in 200 different theaters, often multiple times per location, in order to understand what's happening?
Only if you cant summon friends to fight the movie for you
It'll be as good and successful as the WoW movie
I'm your man
How would this even work? It shouldn’t be live action. Some of the characters are just too out there. Also the plot isn’t even meant to be totally revealed. If’s meant to be ambiguous to a fault.
OOF! RIGHT IN THE GREAT RUNES!
No thanks
TORRENT JOCKEY
Who should play my waifu?
Snood, already decided
You could do it really well by keeping it vague and mystical like the green knight if that wasnt gay and retarded.
But instead there is a 100% chance it'll be just generic
oh no we need a hero to defeat this evil
bullshit.
Belle Delphine. Totally serious and the movie would make 1 billion on the opening night.
Zendaya
Who will play the tarnished?
Zendaya as Ranni
Bella Ramsey as Melina
Florence Pugh as Malenia
shut up and take my money!
He did have that Asian guy playing DS2 in Devs.
I dont even like DS2 but its very based having that one in particular.

Margit/Margot should def be liam neesons
I've heard he's got some experience with a shillelagh
reddit ring
i fucking hate all of your tourists
Who will play Rennala
If Alex Garland is doing it, I would imagine this will be a smaller-scale story and none of the major characters have appearances.
I want to see some glintstone pebbles being thrown
will the merchants that want to burn down the world as revenge for their persecution be in the movie?
you all know this movie is gonna take place before the Shattering...right? It's the only way an Elden Ring film makes sense
They’re going to leave out all the cool shit and focus on muh characterization, even when most npcs are like “althoughbeitfully, heh heh heh…”
Yep. They’ll show shit like Rennala being woo’d by Radagon.
Her. Already confirmed.
Who will play Zanzibart?
Is that really him
Who will play Bambishart?
What am I looking at
jessu fucking christ you can't even tell AI from real life anymore
Is the female Dumbledore lady really more powerful than Marika since she 1v1’d her male alterego
Hey Tone...
Jared Leto
Black Radagon
Mite b cool
the actress that voiced her should reprise the role obv
can someone summarize the plot in a short paragraph? I played the game and I can't.
No. Maybe. We can’t really be sure how that war transpired. Wizards and warriors also fight completely differently. Don’t let the clank gameplay fool you into thinking otherwise.
Health bars don’t exist in lore. Malenia was losing to Radahn so she set aside her pride to use a three slot spell which took out Radahn in one hit—she also jabbed him with her sword once—meaning even a demigod can get stabbed.

Does that mean we're getting this kino?
Would a single glintstone pebble to the face take out a demigod realistically? It’s like a bullet no?
Probably. If Scarlet Aeonia could take out Radahn then I guess Comet Azur can vaporize anything.
Rennala isn’t Dumbledore, Lusat is
TARNISHED DID YOU LOOK INTO THE PRIMEVAL CURRENT
Lusat asked calmly
Ok but who's playing best girl
Meghan Fox
George R R Martin is on record saying he hates Harry Potter and Rowling
Makes another Hogwarts
Bravo Miyazaki, Bravo George
nah her fingers and toes look deformed and disgusting. Nowhere near Miyazaki-approved
It's "real" but she has an Instagram filter, you can see it flicker when she rolls her head around
astronomically based post.
instagram filter
Might as well be AI
Thus the quotation marks
What would the story even be? There's plenty of lore but none of it really works as a feature film. The only souls games that might make good movies are Sekiro or maybe Bloodborne.
Just like most of these games, the only way a series can work is by focusing on the time before the world went to shit
You have zero imagination. There's millions of ways you could make an actual story out of the games' lore
I don’t think he hates her, he’s just a lot disappointed in her. He also doesn’t like overly institutionalized magic that’s overly understood, or taken for granted. By that point you have to rely on the academics to continue calling something magic, and this is a lot more easily said than done. It is often ignored that humans are hateful and dissatisfied creatures, reluctant to see the magic in life.
I feel like there's one of these news articles every other week "<VIDEO GAME FRANCHISE> movie is in the works!" and then literally none of them ever come out, or if they do they're 1/10s like Borderlands
@grok can you confirm?
a movie about leading up to and the night of the black knives would work
He’s disappointed about her not showing up for her book award. He’s angry about her nabbing his award.
Not without losing the feel of the game. The ambiguity and conflicting narratives is a big part of the tone. It's not really a story that unfolds, it's a world you're plonked into and you just sort of vaguely make your own decisions about what happens and then an outcome just sort of happens that you barely had any control over unless you read a walk through or spent huge amounts of time and effort deciphering everything yourself. The appeal of those games is that the experience is very active, and you need to be actively choosing to read into things as much as possible to understand what's happening, whereas a film is usually an extremely passive experience and you're having all of the story given directly to you. Unless they take a huge risk and go super avant garde and try something unique and groundbreaking I don't see it really working.
That would dispel the mystery so no
I'm talking about miyamoto
not fully, as it's probably the most solid explanation for a big event in the story. ranni's questline fills in most of the gaps missing in the intro and webpage lore. it allows for the big characters to take center stage, gives people their blue waifu doll, godwyn, marika, destined death being stolen, and so on.
you'd need grrm and michael zaki on the writing team for it to be any good though (mostly zaki).
Anon, everyone wants to see what the demigods' personalities and dynamics were like pre-Shattering. It's not fucking rocket science. Any decent writer could pull it off
No it would sorry nope
I don't think they do, not in an explicit, definitive way. I don't. You do get given all of that information in the game but it's deliberately vague so you have no choice but to not trust anyone but yourself, or to blindly put your trust in whoever sounds the least dubious. If you're going to create a defined narrative like that you may as well not make it an Elden ring movie and just come up with your own original story.
everyone
lore autists are a minority of the fanbase, most players don't pay attention to the story at all until a youtuber retells it to them
Actually, most ER fans like the lore as much as the gameplay, and they did that poll to confirm it. This is funny since Mike Zaki has said before that gameplay comes first, story/lore second or third. He wings everything, and he doesn’t actually care about the lore nearly as much as his fans do. “Haha funny gold tree” “OMG THE KABBALAH THE TREE OF LIFE”. His lore is about as serious as his love for coomerism, and you see this with crap tier characters that ruin the integrity of their world, like Rellana.
How much longer will you faggots stand Fromsoft's lazy storytelling, or lack thereof? It's insane to me how they DON'T tell a story and everything applauds them like they're fucking geniuses, and they've been doing this since 2009. It was nothing but a budget limit in Demon Souls-- not an artistic decision, but they're still doing it. It's like a blank canvas being hailed as a masterpiece. Sekiro was a step forward; Elden Ring was a step back. This whole multi-media milking thing might squeeze some actual fucking story out of Fromsoft for once
personally I like their style of storytelling because I don't give a shit about hte story in these games and I can just ignore it
So why the fuck do you want a fromsoft movie then? It's like you're incapable of understanding anything other than linear storytelling, you definitely lack reading comprehension seeing as you've had this explained to you several times now and you keep defaulting back to the exact same points.
Please, anyone but Alex Garland. He's going to turn it into some dumb ponderous sci fi slop
It’s the ideal form of videogame storytelling. Cinematic games that focus on story are lame as fuck, particularly because they’re almost always written by hack writers who couldn’t make it in Hollywood and their stories are full of cliches taken from much better movies. Fromsoft’s storytelling technique is the equivalent of when D. W. Griffith invented cinematic storytelling techniques.
