Is this show worth watching?
Is this show worth watching?
Never heard of it
Very much so.
Yes, anyone who says otherwise is just being a massive contrarian
No not really watch the Sopranos instead
Skip the Wire too
Eastbound and Down is good though and early it's always sunny
Sopranos
Overrated and boring slop
Very much no.
Very much yes
Better Call Saul outshines it.
I didn't think it was possible, but somehow, it did.
I would start with that. You will get a different perspective to the original viewers, and probably hate Walter as the unhinged wrecking ball that he was.
Isn't better call saul designed to be watched after breaking bad though?
Jesse makes it hard to rewatch.
Objectively, there's a lot of stupid shit in there.
how about watch it and form your own opinion you fucking npc retard
Whos asking this question?
If you like the first episode you'll like it
I think it works both ways. But I bet you will hate Walter more if you start with BCS.
Checked
Yes of course
Yes. It's one of the few shows that lasted as long as it did, five seasons, and each season gets better and better, for the most part. Season five is by far the best season, even though I didn't like the way it ended.
Jesse is worse than Skylar, desu.
No. It's a goofy live action cartoon for adults.
two face gus
i am le one who knocks
bbbb-bonfire
machine gun in trunk killing nazis
magnets bitch
any scene with le 4d chessmaster gus
it's not le meth
the two assassin brothers
Name 3 good TV shows that aren't like this?
Being goofy is bad or something
Yes, but it doesn't have rewatch value like the other highly praised shows. Maybe you can rewatch it once after a couple of years, but you'll still remember most of the twists and cliffhangers.
Yes it is.
You can tell they tried to make it stand on its own with the first 2 seasons even if it followed BrBa characters. But after that they just went full knockoff breaking bad. And in the last couple of seasons, you really do need to know the events of breaking bad for it to make sense.
All kino
It's pretty much reddit meets netflix meets globohomo feminism. Basically it's feminism the show made to hypnotise the viewer into thinking "white men bad" and "POC women good". There isn't really much more to this dreary show than that.
"white men bad"
Lmao what? Most of the cartel villains and goons in the show are brown hispanics
other highly praised shows
Such as?
In the early seasons they also introduce characters with the expectation you know who they are. Mike's introduction is like this, he's just some random boomer they spend too much time showing his sticker obsession for no reason. Unless you know who he is in BrBa ofc.
Sopranos, Mad Men, The Wire. These shows rely more on character study and dialogue whereas Breaking Bad relies almost entirely on cliffhangers and unexpected turns of events.
Breaking Bad is also a character study, it just has more action and is generally more entertaining compared to those shows
It's worth watching once. It's a show that actually feels planned out and has a satisfying ending unlike 99% of TV shows, probably why it's had a lasting impact unlike so many other shows. It doesn't feel like they're just making it up as they go (even though I'm sure there was some element of that like there is in all tv shows), it feels like a natural progression of events that wraps up nicely at the end. Plenty of kino moments, and most of the criticisms are little nitpicks about realism, so if you're expecting it to be a documentary you might be disappointed. I liked it.
I like how police in this universe basically don't exist organically outside of being plot devices. it feels like a video game where NPCs only appear during scripted encounters in missions but nowhere else.
in fact, nothing feels organic. it's like each scene is just a le clever leeway into something else. It's a gimmick that never fucking stops
bravo vince
This
Yeah but just stop at season 4
A show being goofy is fine if it's not extreme. Not everything has to be super serious no fun allowed grimdark like your favorite reddit shows.
Shows like The Sopranos is even more like this, if anything Breaking Bad actually handles it quite well
I actually disagree. Mike is introduced as a crabby old parking attendant and then his backstory slowly unfolds far beyond what was told in breaking bad. There was also an episode where Tuco appears, but you never need to know more than what is shown. To the novel viewer, he is an insane violent criminal, no more knowledge is needed. Of course if you already know breaking bad then you have a different perspective. Yet a novel watcher still got their own experience.
But by S3 they stopped bothering trying to make BCS its own show. When Gus was introduced, they immediately made him look evil in his first scene whereas in Breaking Bad he was first shown as an unassuming fast food manager. Plus they didn't reveal anything about his past that wasn't already covered in Breaking Bad. And then Gus acts like a psycho killer 24/7 even though in breaking bad he was behind his civilian cover 95% of the time.
Season 5 is also great so it's still watching maybe as like a nice bonus and you can consider season 4 to be the real ending in your head cannon if you want
Why didn't Walter claimed he had bought Bitcoins 20y ago.
