Again, I didn't get that at all from the movie. What I got was the effect of neglectful/absentee parents from a teens life, troubles with being an outsider during teen years, longing for our past, never wanting to grow up, etc. Unlike you, I don't look into what directors want, say, think, etc. Hell, other than the most famous directors, I can't tell you what 99% of them look like because it doesn't matter when it comes to the movie.

Wasn't a fan of the first two but Excision was surprisingly good. I laughed more than I expected and it's got a handful of hot scenes plus a sufficiently fucked up ending.
Next up is Antiviral.

I watched this the other day expecting it to be generic boring exorcismslop and was pleasantly surprised when it ended with the protagonist stabbing the devil and also God Himself Incarnate with a magical knife like a shonen anime
