I went in with tempered expectations, but it's actually solidly entertaining, never drags, good action without the usual shortcuts, the actors are all clearly into it, avoids the usual superhero movie cliches like the Giant Explosion.
Alexei was never a villain, he was a Soviet patriot and is the soul of the Thunderbolts/Avengerz.

I haven't seen enough of Yuen to know if he can do outgoing genuinely charismatic and extroverted characters in live action. That's not to say I had those expectations for Sentry, I'm only curious if Yuen can pull off such roles. IRL he is pretty deadpan also (which is also funny when I remember his skits with Conan)

Wondering about this myself. Falcon being butthurt indicates they'll get fucked over and he'll come in with his "real" avengers to save the day. There was a poster claiming to be a leaker saying everyone but Bucky gets killed, and that Walker is screwed over particularly badly. I would not be surprised if they do that as a "fuck you" to his fans, like in Joker 2.
"Good" meaning better than anything post-Endgame, yeah. Possible exception for the Spiderman one with Defoe and Maguire. Feels similar to Guardians 1.

They aren't superheroes, they are a bunch of Assassins and ex-Assassins, only Walker and Alexei have been anything close to a superhero briefly.
The Guardians of the Galaxy were nothing like superheroes either.
This movie works better than it should. Every character is elevated from the material they were introduced in, the pacing is excellent, the fights are good, devoid of quick-cuttery and shakey, everyone is really putting effort into their roles and the plot is solid.
It's just a consistent thing in the MSheU where they intentionally go out of their way to make the characters look as inaccurate as possible. They did the same thing with Bullseye in Bored Again which annoyed everyone.
The movie is dogshit. It's full of glaring plot holes, an ensemble that doesn't really learn or develop significantly by the end of the film, a phoned in performance from the main lead, shitty ps1 looking fight sequences, and the "antagonist" isn't even that strong of a lead in the sense that he's not really a clear cut obstacle for the protagonists to overcome to further their development, but just a sad white boy that they lazily come to relate to in order to save the day. Feels really cheap and half-assed since there would've been no other way for them to stop him. The only other major antagonist is some boringly unfunny politician chick who's so forgettable that nobody's even discussing her.
So yeah......it's the worst Marvel product since......well, the last Marvel product. And sadly the producers and writers who churned out this stinky piece of corporate slop will learn nothing from it because too many sandniggers and basedfaggots keep patting them on the back for making a 2/10 filler episode at best.
