i went through Arnolds filmography some time ago, Total Recall and Last Action Hero were some of the best films i've ever seen yet they're never mentioned anywhere

It's been re-evaluated for quite some time. Sadly, I've watched some reaction channels their reaction to it, and a lot if it is lost on them. It's a very timely movie. Some don't see the difference between 'Predator' and 'Last Action Hero'. Maybe you had to be there?

Nah, Jingle All The Way is better. Although 'Kindergarten Cop' deserves credit for the sudden and unexpected change in atmosphere after being 10 or 15 minutes in the movie.

The Running man was corny, even back then. I love it, but it's a product of a different time. Decent budget, but I can't take it serious. Of course the dystopian future where everything is in the service of entertainment and money elevates it again.

I've read that book. It was pretty short. Lets just say the movie is very, very loosely based on the book. The movie is more like a hybrid of Philip K. Dick and Stephen King. With a sauce of 80's cheesyness poured over it.

The book was pretty cool. But they were not ex-convicts. They were people who had to run in front of a car. They had to run a marathon. All of it was televised. The ones who stopped or fell too far behind got shot. That was Stephen King's book. So you see how the movie is only very loosely based on it.

Another funny coincidence is the movie 'Wedlock' where convicts are tied to each other that explodes the moment they are too far removed from each other. We see it in the movie 'The Running Man' where each convict has a collar around their neck and it explodes from the moment they step over the perimiter.

The movie 'Wedlock' did some cool things with that concept of an explosive collar. It has Rutger Hauer, so Anon Babble might like it.

Conan, Commando, T1&2, Total Recall, Kindergarten Cop, and Sixth Day are the quintessential Arnold kino everything else is optional
