This smug fuck has been staring at me for over a week edition
/who/ - Doctor Who General
Well, well, well. The well is shit.
Oh yeah, there's a new episode. Have the leaks been confirmed yet?
Watching it now and yeah. It basically seems to be a Midnight sequel.
The monster shows up a few times in a loud = scary moment behind the Deaf girl
Season spoilers seem to be correct.
Well "seems" is putting it lightly. They hard drop the name by the 25 minute mark before everyone starts dying
Now I'm excited to see RTD completely shit his pants again with the finale
laughed hysterically when half the cast got culled due to the potato spinning around
the scariest thing about it is it will be the best episode of the ncuti run
They could've had me, but it bugs the hell out of me that the Doctor never asked why the Midnight creature was doing this weird standing behind you possession thing instead of stealing your voice like it did before
None of this needed to be a sequel to Midnight.
I'd give it a 4/10. Always found the first midnight to be an over-rated episode, but this very much feels like Russels version of Alien to Aliens but in all the worse ways and seemingly losing what made the first Midnight "good" anyway.
Next week's Rubys episode.
Kek he actually showed the monster. He's completely lost it
it might not be the same entity. maybe there's multiple on that planet. that or it evolved. it was stealing people's voices in the original to learn.
Long time no see, cunts. Have any of you watched S15 so far? Is it any better than S14?
Robot Revolution is a much better season opener than Space Babies. But still suffers from modern Russel doing Russel things, especially near the end on top of some pacing issues. 6 out of ten 10 depending how generous I feel
Lux is this seasons The Devil's Chord. You either like it, or dislike it. But even then like Devil's Chord there's some creative choices that are hard to look past. Pajeeta Pits out of 10
The Well's the latest episode and it's again one of those you'll either like, or hate. Try not to think about too much. Personally 5-6 out of 10 for me and looking at it as a sequel, I feel like I should put it lower.
Next week's Episode 4 and we'll be half way through the season. I'd say just hold off until Episode 6 airs, binge everything then join in for the shitposting of the final 2 episodes.
BOOBY CUMDAY
Yeah, that really does sum it up
I prefer S14 at this point.
even IGN is shitting on it
And they'll like anything. Ouch.
I've been watching Fifth Doctor episodes instead of the new season. It's much more enjoyable
I decided to watch some of Mr Tardis's reviews for last season out of sheer boredom/ morbid curiosity. He shits on Russell more than I expected, but watching him desperately trying to complain about things without being a heckin bigot is very funny.
I'm just glad it didn't ruin the original or give too much away. I'm not sure it fully justified itself as a sequel or needed to exist, could of just as easily been its own thing but I still had a good time with it. Obviously doesn't compare with the original but very few episodes do. I'm kinda glad they didn't repeat the repeating so it at least felt kinda fresh. This season as a whole has been stellar so far, I just don't think this ep needed to be a midnight sequel. Kinda gives vibes of Russell maybe not trusting the story by itself and feeling he needs to go "Remember this when the show was more popular?"
a 5 from IGN of all places
ouch
I'm halfway through Tom Baker myself.
Currently on The Sun Makers, which is the only politically-minded Who I condone on grounds that it's just funny business.
Behind the scenes look at the Well’s monster curtsey of Unleashed
You know, if you don't like RTD2, there's a lovely alternative.
Let me guess
Ncuti is perfect for the role and full of charisma, but the writing doesn't give him much to do
Remember this?
whogen.miraheze.org
no I haven't got the link to the old wiki
Ncuti is bad for the role but not because he's black, he's just not very good at what RTD is trying to sell the audience. Most other nuwho Doctors could elevate the material by being 100% completely earnest about it, even if it doesn't make a lick of sense. Ncuti is acting like he's in a serious slowburn drama which it isn't.
The political statements back then never went further than a general old school liberalism. Sure you had women's lib characters like Sarah Jane but they still always needed saving by men at the end of the day.
It helped that the writer pool was more diverse (ironically) - Terrence Dicks and Malcolm Hulke for example were on opposite ends of the political spectrum but they still made great stuff together (and were good friends IRL). The writing was more nuanced too, Hulke himself was a literal, card carrying Communist but still wrote a story with a communist villain.
I suspect that the co-writer originally had this as its own script and then russel came in and said BUT WOT IF IT WAS MIDNIGHT and that's why it's co-written
you could remove all the references to Midnight and absolutely nothing would change. In fact it would only improve because apparently everyone forgot that when the Doctor left Midnight last time he had them cordon off the whole planet as a complete no-go zone
Don't worry, the upcoming audio kino by Big Finish will keep the brand ticking over during the next hiatus.
It's mostly
Russell is old and tired, the show desperately needs new blood
Instead of the more accurate
Russell is a demented faggot who's actively making shit to piss off fans
Ncuti is acting like he's in a serious slowburn drama which it isn't.
Is he now?
wiki entry for Pozz says RTD actually isn't pozzed
lol
I genuinely cannot tell if this is satire
Classic Who
Taxes are bad and so are Nazis
Nu Who
Trans women are fucking valid and white men are evil
Doctor Who has always been political
Communists love to complain that other communists are doing communism wrong
I see the viewership is still utterly terrible, even after they added all the iplayer viewership too. So is this gonna be the final season?
This one of the episode where he's good. He's not all terrible.
if that's r/gallifrey then don't worry, most of that is performative
Most other nuwho Doctors could elevate the material by being 100% completely earnest about it, even if it doesn't make a lick of sense. Ncuti is acting like he's in a serious slowburn drama which it isn't.
am i retarded or are you contradicting yourself here immediately?
That’s true of most classic sci-fi. The plot may be ridiculous and goofy. But the actors could sell it like the rent was due.
It might be my bad. What I meant is that Ncuti's one dimensional and always acts like he's above it or on a different plane altogether, while Tennant for example could slide in every story, no matter how ridiculous or serious it was.
I see this every week on Reddit or X. This show is now made entirely for people who think Space Babies was an 8.5/10 and overhype every episode to the point of parody. I doubt they actually believe it, but they have to say it publicly to renew some interest in the show. “This week’s Doctor Who is a return to form!” etc etc
So blackman just happens to have the outfits for space basejumping? And the doc doesnt fucking KNOW theyre for spacey basejumping. I cant remember an episode with this crap from tenant or after.
I honestly didn’t believe he’d go there. A Midnight sequel 17 years after the original is the most damning proof yet that RTD is washed. It supports my theory that he knows the show is circling the drain and is now just cashing in the Disney bucks before retirement. Most of his scripts so far have been unused stories from 15 years ago (Dot and Bubble) and outright rehashes (Lux = From Out of the Rain but done worse, and now Midnight).
,000 years in the future.
>People are still deaf and it's not cured
>>"A nurse who can't sign? That's against the law."
God i hate this new era so much
that's from the preview for the booby sunday episode, you only get very vague glimpses of the Midnight monster
This episode gives light to the rumor that the 2008 Midnight episode was ghostwritten by someone else
There’s a non-zero chance that Episode 6 (“the most expensive episode ever”) doesn’t get shown on British television because it’s between football and Eurovision.
Wouldn’t be too surprised even back in 2008 Midnight felt too good to be a Russel script.
Not that I think the original is the masterpiece of Nuwho like some claim. It’s just the script and concept was something way better than anything to come from Russel
PLEASE be about the war between Time Lords and Vampires with Jodie calling them slurs
I doubt they actually believe it
You'd be surprised how many are genuine, I'm afraid.
Do you think Big Finish will manage to give Yaz a personality beyond:
Muslim
Northern
policewomanofficer
in lesbians with the Doctor
i am on ketamine and i suspect that's muddied my experience somewhat, but i can still process thoughts.
what was that? it was just nothing. for a 'bottle episode' they barely introduced any of the characters--in fact they threw in those 'grew up the wastelands' flashbacks at the end? why? it's the same issue the robot planet story had: if you'd shown the character, built up who they were, then it would actually have some impact. instead of just going '...and another thing' at the last minute.
very flat. a beige episode. i suppose the overall mystery of Earth and the human race ending is there. okay. it's not even bad. it's not good. running around to some Britney Spears music, maybe there's a sense of excitement? i don't blame the ketamine i blame the writer.
Since when was that a rumour?
Alien whispers Doctos name to him
Starts crying
What is this guys problem? Why does he cry in literally every single episode.
It's about toxic masculinity innit
And if you don't like it, then you're a stale, bigoted incel
Who is the old bitch?
why is the doctor suddenly on earth with ruby in the next episode when he just said earth is gone?
how did his hair change when he put on the space suit?
how did he just happen to have the exact same space suits as the soldiers?
None of this needed to be a sequel to Midnight.
RTD’s whole approach to this new era is about generating content to drive social media hype. “Who remembers Midnight? Who remembers when the show was good?” is very on brand desu
evil entity down a well that kills the crew then escapes on a spaceship while secretly attached/possessing someone.
gee real original
Who is the old bitch?
New mystery box old woman. According to the leaks she's a new version of the Rani (doesn't explain why she breaks the 4th wall tho)
why is the doctor suddenly on earth with ruby in the next episode when he just said earth is gone?
The Earth is disappearing/getting destroyed in the finale, which is May 24th. They can visit the Earth before this time (apparently they land in 2008)
how did his hair change when he put on the space suit?
Lazy continuity
how did he just happen to have the exact same space suits as the soldiers?
Lazy writing
So did they forget about the whispering already. That wasnt very long, pajeeta gets the spoopy and can hear it immediately but the other bitch couldnt and let it on ths ship?
I refuse to believe people who are still active in these generals actually watch the show now. It's gotten so bad, it's not even fun to watch just to make fun of it anymore. It's sad honestly to see what this franchise has become but in a way, I'm happy to see it fail since everyone involved in it's destruction has to deal with all the hate.
anon.. there's something behind you
Ok hun
was the whole set, and thus that one shot, designed because of the whole "if it was a clock face, the monster strikes at Midnight" thing? RTD worked backwards from that?
it's like a pun, except you also get to invent words. now that's what i call a prost! (because this is a Anon Babble post, and also a prost)
According to the leaks
Surprised nobody's mentioned it ITT but leaks are 100% confirmed now.
Brace yourselves for big CGI monster Omega.
Was the ‘13 meets 15 just before he regenerates’ part of the original set of leaks or the fake set?
I can't remember and don't really care enough to find out.
I mean, I'm not watching the current show. I'm just watching the reactions to it.
how did Belinda know what a TARDIS is?
there was all that editing shit last series with the whistle. i don't know what's a mistake or a 'clue' any more. (we were right about the time travel in "The Eleventh Hour" and to this day i think there was one of those Silence thingies in "The Lodger")
The reactions are definitely more entertaining but I can’t think of a more fitting way for the show to end than with those two incarnations on screen together
bro wtf is with these long ass delays before each post? Why the fuck am I waiting 200 seconds between posts. That's bullshit. I posted in one thread, came to this one and now I'm waiting a ridiculously long amount of time just to make a post.
why do people ruin the shows they like by spoiling it with leaks?
Inb4 the Doctor undergoes a split regeneration just like Rani and this creates the Valeyard
ruin sutek in the first season
ruin omega in the second
ruin the rani somewhere along the way
finish off strong by ruining the valeyard
russ came into this era of the show with a plan
Are you ready to apologize yet?
why do brits even like this show? I've tried watching episodes here and there over the years and it just seems like really corny unfunny scifi schlock.
Omega and the Rani are already shite villains tbqh, so I'll be interested to see if RTD can ruin them further
Ah so they basically just ruined the mystery of the Midnight episode
Well done Russell
What was the latest episode about?
If the show had balls they would have done an episode The Referendum of Peladon - though 1) actually the Europe themes on Curse may not even be intended and instead are just people reading too much into it; and 2) getting to the wider point about how Classic handled themes better, you just know that an episode commenting on Brexit would in no way have balance or genuine understanding about why people are pro-Brexit.
big CGI monster Omega
15 and 13 meeting
Open ended regeneration
It really is the end (and that's a good thing)
the deaf girl in the far future hasn't had a cure for deafness or at least some futuristic hearing aids, and everyone instead just has to know sign language by law
yeah that makes perfect sense
if she's working as a cook on a shithole mining facility, she probably can't afford anything like that anyway
redditors write /s after they do a heckin sarcasm because they're all braindead so no it's earnest
RTD writes an episode where the day is saved due to Donna's tranny son and "trans magic"
Meanwhile irl the UK courts state that trans women aren't women
RTD writes an episode about an evil white boyfriend and includes the line "planet of the incels"
Meanwhile irl there are discussions about how we treat young males and the discourse around them causing them to be isolated (due to a different TV show)
RTD writes the first Indian companion
Meanwhile irl India goes to war
The most expensive Doctor Who episode ever (the upcoming Eurovison one) might not air on TV due to the real Eurovison
RTDs return and attempts at politics have been an abject failure. At the rate, the all black cast episode is gonna be accidentally racist or something
RTD angered a gipsy witch confirmed
[Insert 13th/14th/15th Doctor episode title here] dilutes one of Doctor Who's most iconic horrors, stripping away its ambiguity without offering anything substantial in return.
There you go, wrote an easy review for every single DW episode from 2018 to beyond.
Fuck I hate what has happened to this show. It's always been shit, but now it's really fucking SHIIIIIIIITTTTT
I genuinely cannot tell if this is satire
It's worse than that, simply put- everyone with half a brain or any real taste whatsoever just aren't watching the show anymore at all. They're not offering their opinions because they just don't care. So the only reviews/comments you're going to get are from lobomotised diehard wankers
He should unironically be the showrunner
That episode would’ve been a lot better if it didn’t mention Midnight at all. It undermined the original and the creature’s gimmick was more like Turn Left meets the Weeping Angels. Also, Gatwa hasn’t got the action chops to elevate these stories like, say, Capaldi could. He was particularly wooden here.
season 2 episode 3
leftist boomers get whiplashed by the fact that things move so fast in modernity, trannyism is a perfect example, 1 year ago labour politicians were embarrassing themselves by saying women can have penises, now that's verboten and they've all changed their tune because of the vibe shift
having right-on views is increasingly irrelevant because things move so fast
Anons, why are you even watching it? It clearly is not good and I don't think any of you expect it to be. At this point it does not even seem like it is that fun to riff on or dunk on the new stuff.
Tits > pits
Tfw the Midnight entity was just a 6ft bloke covered in modelling clay
I'm not watching it. I'm just monitoring conversations to see if it's any good and would motivate me to watch.
I might actually watch this one, because it doesn't sound too bad.
What kind of fan are YOU?
strawpoll.com
strawpoll.com
strawpoll.com
strawpoll.com
Stupid poll, you missed out all the "i have seen all epidoes from 1963 until Capldi left" option which is what I am. Not everyone is ignorant of the Classic show ffs
I watched some classics at random but never found time to watch all of them, so where does this put me?
My answer is not there:
I like Classic more than nuWho - I have watched most of Classic and stopped watching Nu when the Doctor became a woman.
It's not as bad as the Chibnall era.
No need to apologize for anything he did.
Also according to the leaks the first three episodes were the best, so it’s all downhill from here
Is there even enough of a fanbase to support Wilderness 2.0 in the same way the first was? There seems to be four issues. 1) A sledgehammer has been taken (repeatedly) to the franchise in a way that was not true in 1989. 2) To echo what I saw an anon on Anon Babble say, there has been no generational handover - there has been no real influx into the fanbase since probably the 11th Doctor era, and it is not even as if we can go "well the last several years have all been shit, but at least (however utterly tasteless they may be) there is an audience for it". 3) Tom Baker is 91, Colin Baker and McCoy are both 81 - so you get into the issue of them either dying or just retiring, and yes sure you have impersonators but that is lesser. 4) From how corporate things to the lack of quality writers, you are not going to get the same creativity of the original Wilderness Years.
It's a show where anything can happen and has no logic.
India is at war with who?
Don't post images like this in a /who/ thread of all places.
Wilderness 2.0 will be 80% Tennant too, because of the nostalgia factor and the fact that RTD brought him back again
They are talking about things flaring up between Indian and Pakistan over Kashmir. They are not actually at war, at least yet, but they are sabre-rattling.
It is an improvement over the Chibnall era.
You haven't seen all of classic because many of the black & white episodes are missing.
It is a meaningless improvement if it is just dogshit over absolute dogshit.
It's not even that bad now it's just meh.
Anon Babble was down when lux aired but I wanted to point out that it was very telling that RTD's own idea of who the target audience is for the show which is not kids/teenagers, it's fat soilennials that post on Anon Babblegallifrey
Space Babies
Devil’s Chord
Empire of Death
Robot Revolution
Hmm…Agree to disagree.
I heard those are like youtuber cameos or something, but I don't watch who youtubers, so I wouldn't know.
I would that slampig and I'm not ashamed to admit it
we were right about the time travel in "The Eleventh Hour"
oh man I'd forgotten abou that era
the scene in the the angels episode where future doctor comes back to talk to amy while her eyes were shut, too.
those reveals were pretty cool after all the 'what's going on here' speculations
What even was the episode about?
Devil's Chord wasn't bad.
he did RLM's "nerd crew" parody but did it literally, they're even surrounded by merch for no real reason
if RTD was being honest he'd have picked that tranny that made that 12 hour vid about why chibnall sucks
Retarded shoehorned sequel bit aside. (This episode wouldve been fine even without that)
That was probably the first episode of Doctor Who i've enjoyed since 2017.
Why can't russel just make more of that instead of the pozzed pile of shit he's been spewing
If you were a writer and you have to write an episode to anger people what would you do? Keep it in the realm of reasonability of what RTD would greenlight, but even that gives you seemingly huge possibility.
ITS...
KINO!!!
first episode of Doctor Who i've enjoyed since 2017.
Looks like you didn't watch Rogue or The Giggle.
None of this needed to be a sequel to Midnight.
you're really saying this to the show that literally brought back a doctor because the show tanked so hard?
they are coasting on nothing but nostalgia now and while doing this they keep making statements about how they hate fans and fans are stupid
its gg
Thinly veiled allegory to how COVID was a hoax is my best idea. Joy to the World already is that, except by accident, so I know they don't think too hard about it.
At this point the most qualitive anger you are going to get is targeting hardcore fans already lamenting what Doctor Who has become. Bring back Romana with either the most ugly actress you can get, or bring her back as a he.
faggot episode
retarded nonsense happens for an hour with david tennant and the guy from how i met your mother.
Trust me, i saw them.
Blink's "long" day was over when Utopia aired.
What was that? You want another normal episode? How about a white men bad episode, followed by an all black cast episode set in Africa, then a space Eurovision episode, concluding in a cluster fuck two part finale instead?
>faggot episode
Homophobia is bad.
retarded nonsense
That's what the Toymaker is able to do, it's literally apart of the episode.
only 5 The Collection blu rays
2 are standard edition
how embarrassing.
season 16 announced
stars with capaldi regenerating into jodie
jodie falls out of the tardis
slams on the ground
instantly regenerates again
''woah that was a crazy dream! timeless child? bigeneration? HA!, imagine!''
camera pans up to reveal
I AM... THE DOCTOR
maybe it's a jab at the BBC standards that they require x% of programming to have sign language (i am not actually researching this - effortposts belong in the past)
The Long Good Friday is the proto-Brexit film you're looking for friend, it even has some familiar music:
youtube.com
why can't they just use prose? the English language? also what happened to "j/k"? i miss that fella.
anyone can produce any old waffle: i'm doing it right now, don't even need oestrogen just a few bumps of ket
Damn is this true? I havent read the leaks. Where can i read the shit about omega and 13?
homophobia is bad
Dont care
That's what the Toymaker is able to do, it's literally apart of the episode
Just because you wrote something retarded on purpose doesnt make it good or entertaining
He would be the worst Doctor ever.
it's fat soilennials that post on Anon Babblegallifrey
funny considering that r/gallifrey's majority comments have been shitting on the show quite a lot
The Giggle is very entertaining.
Your parents love you.
See? I can lie too!
Either that, or Alan Moore finally found out that Russ nicked the Deathsmiths of Goth and the whole idea of the Time War from a couple hack comics he wrote back in the 70s
If they shove any more invalids in our face this season, I'm going to go full fascist. It's bad enough society tolerates, let alone supports, these genetic dead end potatos in the first place. Stop shoving them into TV and film!
Why did I want to fuck shaya? She's not hot but she's so hot
She's also 100% responsible for most of the deaths this episode. She did not deserve a happy ending at all. Should have abandoned her and nuked the planet from orbit.
They should have got the Doctors old orange suit back.
Belinda's fat brown tits
Moffat wrote most of the actually good episodes of the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors. He should have stayed as showrunner too. A 10 year arc focused on the search for Gallifrey would have been dope.
I wonder if the BBC suits just woke up one day and said "gee, this show is too good we really need to fuck it over beyond repair for the next decade"
sees vastra and jenny
FLINT AND VEEIL
Fuck me, the thread died on 100 posts on the same day at the release? This was the previous thread ? This show is fucking dead. I only see like 8 people in this thread who clearly watched the episode.
I won't for one second pretend that The Well was a 10/10, but it actually was a good episode and that makes it seem amazing compared to everything of the past few years. I couldn't pick many faults and the lack of complaints here (e.g. compare the lack of memes here to the utter laugh we had at Planet of the Incels). oversells it but he's not far off.
Yes.
a cure for deafness or at least some futuristic hearing aids
You wouldn't be able to depict that with an actual deaf actress though, and having a normal actress go "I used to be deaf" or wear prop hearing aids would get loads of backlash.
It died before it hit the bump limit because it was night time.
No shit. This show is gutter trash. I still watch because one day when the show is good again i wont have to slog through a decade of catch up.
Nobody cares enough to even shit on it anymore.
1.2 million overnight? Shits getting CANCELLED
TIME CUBE!
Red Dwarf literally had an actress pretending to be a deaf mute only to suddenly be cured of it and talk normally in their most recent special, and they got zero shit for it.
I'm not interested in good or even fine episodes. I want this show to go out in a shower of utter shit. I want RTD to take the show completely up it's own arse. I want it to salt the earth. I want it out of the public consciousness
Not long to go now. Only five episodes left before Disney probably pulls the plug
Belinda is Clara for zoomers. I’m glad we’re back to getting attractive companions after that rough drought.
what do you mean for zoomers clara was only like 6 years ago
1 = 9
First Doctor Who of the era. No nonsense, less of the eccentricities that are associated with the character. Has obvious character development
2 = 10
Doctor who redefined how the character is viewed. Incarnations that reappears the most after they've left the show
3 = 11
Can't really make this one work beyond them both being responsible for an explosion in popularity for the show
4 = 12
The GOAT
5 = 13
Underdeveloped Doctor who's defining characterist is that they are "nice". Large Tardis team means that the Doctor is lost in the shuffle
6 = 14
A short lived gimmick-y Doctor
7 = 15
An average actor who's first series is disliked and used as an example of why the show is bad. His later series are better, but the audience has already left.
It's like poetry, it rhymes
Sôylennials are an epidemic. No media can be sincere anymore. Everything has to be meta and self aware and poke fun at itself. Star Trek, Doctor Who, Marvel, streaming flavor of the months, they're all doing it. This is a disease that needs to be cured.
kek is this a full comic?
zoomers
Anon, zoomers are born between 1997 to 2012. So the oldest are going to be 28 and the youngest 13. At this point you are only talking about the youngest zoomers, with the kids today as it were are more Gen Alpha.
Why is this Tardis console room so fucking huge? It's 90 percent empty space with ramps What's the damn point? If they were going to do that then fill the space with stuff to make it interesting to look at like the TV Movie.
Bill > Belinda
You mean a decade ago.
Have a quick look on r/Gallifrey and they believe that the leaks were planted by Russell as some sort of master meta plan. All because the fan characters joked about leaks on the last episode
Good lord. The absolute state of this fanbase. Why do they do this to themselves? They did it last year with the "the Doctor will learn he's in a TV show" show to try and "explain" all of RTD's shit writing
the console room is supposed to reflect the doctor of that era so in that sense it's perfect
ecclestone- old soul, organic, seen better days
smith- willy wonka
capaldi- oxford don
whittaker- postmodern
ncuti- soulless and sterile
sounds like something RTD would do given he's obsessed with owning redditors for some reason
haha! it was not in fact Susan, a character literally 1% of the audience have heard of, it is in fact the beloved 1980s smash villain Sutek, that about 2% of the audience have heard of!
meanwhile everyone else is completely bewildered while RTD sacrifices creative quality to play games with his own dwindling sycophants
They also think RTD has been planting elaborate rumours of the show’s cancellation because Mrs Flood said ‘show ends May 24th’ in the last episode. The last episode of this series actually airs a week later…
Anon Babble got died during the week that doctor who had its best episode in years with Lux. It’s pottery
Mrs. Flood looked directly at the screen, addressing the audience, and said "trans rights" over and over again for an entire hour
what was Russell thinking??
hahahahaha
a character literally 1% of the audience have heard of
Susan is pretty well known for being the very first companion and a weird enigma for being a family member of the Doctor
best villain for years
well known to people that discuss this show online, sure
the whole point of the series since 2005 methodically reintroducing concepts and characters from the original series is because most people that watch do not care and have never heard of any of that shit
they started to let it slide towards the end of tennant's run before they just stopped trying
Russell makes Mrs Flood a stand-in for JK Rowling to own the chuds
It was 400,000 years ago, probably a different entity.
Not an amazing episode, but compared to most of the Disney seasons, it stands out as much better than most.
She left the show 10 years ago anon. Zoomers are too young to have watched those seasons.
No big finish box sets and the basic bitch blink answer.
if it makes you feel any better, i've been on and off this website for more rels than you can imagine
is she magic? they're hinting she's magic, they need to stop having magic people. RTD said in the commentary thing he didn't like that in Star Wars, Rey wasn't just some ordinary girl, in the end. he liked the original answer that she was.
it took him a while, but he got there.
my question for actual children or those who have them:
do kids even watch this programme now? why? even your sort of....peculiar types, teenagers called Wolfraven with green hair who have an otherkin familiar and RP on Gaia Online (Tumblr? where are we at nowadays?)
^ those, are they about? do they like what RTD is doing?
I showed my five year old son the Christmas Carol episode with Matt smith he loved the shark.
Terrible take.
any weirdos ripped the audio to see if there are HIDDEN SECRETS in those whispers yet?
in this day and age of internet engagement and ARG type shite, i'm wondering if there's actually something there.
Sack em all.
the doctor explicitly said it was the same one multiple times
not that he should be able to know for sure of course, but they were definitely meant to be 'viewer, take this as fact'-type statements
Peter Davidson is shit, just as bad as Jodi if you ask me, Sylvester McCoy's doctor was so much better than his
The fuck even happened with RTD? In his first run he was amazing at bringing back old villains but so far the best he's done was the Toymaker, both Sutekh and this was done horribly, fucking any other monster would've been better than bringing this one back, bring back the god damn Slitheen even, at least with them it wouldn't undermine their original episode
bring david tennant back
Monster from The Well has nothing in common with the monster from Midnight
NAH, BUT IT'S SET ON MIDNIGHT IT MUST BE THE SAME CREATURE INNIT?
Blood, who's blood?
Mine...
Blood, thick and red.
Yellow? What?
Yes.
Yellow...
Regeneration.
Regeneration...
Yellow glowing regeneration.
Capaldi > Tennant
It didn't undermine the original.
Honestly I’d rather have any other new doctor.
I decided to actually watch it. Are they actually talking about Carbon-36 or am hallucinating? 'Cause that's a very high number for cabon.
I don't think you know what a zoomer is. Zoomer's are in University now, they would absolutely have been watching 10 years ago
They did, retard
It fucking sucked
The Doctor explicitly refers to the entity as "his old friend" when addressing it. Whether it makes sense or not (it doesn't) that was very clearly RTD's intention. Also, another thing, has anyone else noticed how abysmally poor Doctor Who showrunner's concept of time is? These soldiers should not have any record of what happened on a dead planet over 400,000 years ago. That dwarfs human history 40 times over.
At least he got 1 great episode.
These soldiers should not have any record of what happened on a dead planet over 400,000 years ago.
Well maybe they do with futuristic technology.
It was an ok episode It wasn’t even great.
If you're gay.
The Giggle is one of the best episodes of the entire show.
If you're gay, sure.
Straighter than New Earth.
It's co-written with some other woman. Clearly what happened is she submitted a script with a new monster, RTD read it and thought "Monster that makes humans turn against each other in paranoia? Clearly this concept is too unique to be anything other than the Midnight entity, so I'll add a few lines establishing it's the same being."
The Interstallar Song Contest could be the gayest episode of all time, but can it top New Earth?
I think they are going to She-Hulk the finale.
The plots become increasingly fan service to the point where we get Two Rani's, Omega and David Tennant playing the Valeyard. Then the Doctor realizes he is in a TV Show... only to wake up.
He's actually John Smith, a fan of the TV show Doctor Who. He teams-up with the stereotypical fan characters as he embarks on an adventure to save Doctor Who from cancellation by confronting the three gods: RTD, Steven Moffat and Chris Chibnall - the creators of modern Doctor Who.
Eventually they realize the show has to end but can continue on through the fans. We then transition to that as the finale of the episode, a fanfic ending written by the fans where the Doctor defeats the villains and goes away in the Tardis as he regenerates onto new adventures.

Out of all the Monsters from Russel's first era they brought back. They choose the one that shouldn't have gotten a sequel? If Russel really wanted a low budget episode with a monster that didn't require much budget in show-casing, then he should've asked Moffat if he could use the vashta nerada
That sounds sort of good, so that must mean there's no fucking chance
Wuh Duh Huh t' Buh Puh?
You should be a DW writer, that's almost entirely incoherent. You'll go far.
Just fucking cancel this shit already
The fuck even happened with RTD
His first run was hard carried by other writers, with him coming in at the final minute to throw in a little finale teaser for his season long story arc every other episode giving him co-writing credit.
And most of the time his solo outing episodes were boring and bland.
follow up to this, grabbed the audio from iPlayer, did some Audacity shenanigans, it's fuck all. just some breathy sounds i can't isolate (stereo). feel like it's something they recorded for the episode rather than from a stock library.
RTD stop teasing me with schizo kernels, unless Dr Who's super secret real name is huuswuuhhaahhuuu.

Why are you complaining about her voice when it literally says she only communicates by sign language in the episode
I SAY CLOM
YOU SAY SORRY
CLOM
"I say X you say Y" fags begone
God Belinda looked so good this episode.
It's really incredibly telling. He's clearly not aiming for kids these days, since kids don't use Twitter, so fuck 'em who needs 'em?
Clara was Clara for zoomers, you retard.
t. zoomer
I say Clyde you say Langer
I'm kinda glad they didn't repeat the repeating so it at least felt kinda fresh.
I'm split on this; on the one hand, at least it wasn't just the same shite with a new cast. On the other, the best they could come up with was the monster physically chucking people around a room through the power of stunt wires. That's the root problem with doing a sequel to something which was so simple in premise, you can't just repeat it outright, but how do you develop it into something new without losing the real 'spirit' of the original? While it was just the squad standing around being paranoid, it worked fine. Once the episode actually attempted to illustrate the threat, it kind of fucked it. The whole last 10 minutes just had the feeling of having written itself into a corner without really knowing where to go to reach the end
Probably one of those stories that should have been 2 episodes.
cutest: clara
hottest: amy
best ass: bill
actual best character and performance: donna
Doctor Who beats the most super evil dangerous darkest scariest evilest baddest nastiest naughtiest God in the whole history of the universe ever (again)
Also RTD thought the Roger Rabbit 'animated characters interacting with real actors' visual gimmick would be neat, and tried to realise that on totally insufficient TV resources
best tits: Donna
best dick-sucking lips: Rose
best smile: Martha
You know what, this new episode was actually much better than what I thought it was going to be. I like the concept and I'm glad that they didn't Weeping Angel the Midnight Entity and only gave us glimpses of it. Might be the first episode this season I liked.
Hottest in hindsight: Martha
New ep was mildly scary until everyone ended up getting yanked up into the air like Monty Python and the Holy Grail
I don't think they needed to repeat the repeating thing, but they really needed to acknowledge that the monster was doing something it didn't do originally. They could have easily thrown out some of the 'ALISS EXPLAIN EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN' lines and had Ncuti ask if before the crew started shooting each other, did they start repeating each other's words.
Actually, considering the mining crew is basically a nightmare horror plot they should have had it happen over a long period of time. Like, really let the paranoia amongst the crew grow as the creature whittles them down and makes them kill each other until only Aliss is left. Having it all happen quickly diminishes the horror aspect of it a lot.
I feel like not doing the repeating thing made it better. The whole clock face thing makes it feel like the Midnight Entity loves to play with it's prey and that it could do anything for it's sadistic fun. I'm glad RTD had the restraint to not make it one of his gods.
I didn't like the imposition of psychology on the entity. Not having any insight into it's motivation is scarier than it's just a big meanie sadist. By the way the doctor was putting it, it might as well have been one of the big Welsh gay pantheon
Russel writes himself into a corner and needs to give the entity a weakness so the Doctor and Pajeeta can get away
Reveal it's weakness is that it hates looking at it's own reflection
The entity that spent endless years on a planet made of Diamonds that would always be reflecting until all the Diamonds got mined up.
I'm sorry, are you really actually expecting current year Doctor Who writing to be any good? Get the fuck outta here
I feel like it's in line with Midnight that it's a big meanie face. When it's getting everyone to throw out the Doctor in Midnight, the woman it's possessing has a big smile on her face, rubbing salt in the wound by even saying one of the Doctor's catchphrases.
it might as well have been one of the big Welsh gay pantheon
It'd need to be singing and dancing for that. The Midnight Entity is how you do the gay pantheon right, it and the Beast were good monsters because the Doctor really had no idea about what they really were versus the Doctor running from a bunch of Qs.
His writing isn't much differen't from the 2000's.
The Midnight Entity isn't a god.
For me, it's
give them a trick to get away from the monster
but still want an overdone self-sacrifice scene, so decide they don't even get away after the trick
on top of that, decide to end the episode on an "... or DID THEY!?" twist
first couple series of nu-who put a lot of effort into not spoiling who/what the bad guy is, particularly notable in eg. bad wolf
the 'next times' of the previous episodes always spoiled it
what the fuck did they mean by this
Neither was Sue Tech because Russell retconned it
I know, but the purpose of all of these gods is that the Doctor is too used to being able to handle your average science fiction monster and so he's dealing with things that play with different rules to even the playing field. The Midnight Entity is able to do that without turning things into a complete farce.
this pantheon shit is by far the gayest thing RTDard has done, he thinks this is marvel or some shit
It was shit back then too, people were too blinded by the show's (i.e. Tennant's) popularity to see it
The difference for me is that in Midnight its psychology was implicit at best and not outright stated in lengthy and fruity exposition
I thought it was alright. Kinda retarded to keep making the deaf girl turn after the 2nd death though.w48gk
Bad Wolf was not good
It has a kino actor in it.
Russels Pantheon of MIDcord
The Trickster, God of Traps
The Toymaker, God of Games
The Maestro, Toymakers Drag Queen son, God of Music
The Repropate, God of Spite, also known as Russel T Davies
The Mara, God of Beasts
The Incensor, God of Disasters. Also known as Chris Chibnall
Dread and Doubt, the offspring of the Incensor.
The threefold deity of malice and mischief and misery.
The god of skin, shame and secrets
Lux Imperator the God of Light
And finally. Sutekh. The God of Death. Who joined the Pantheon while sitting on the Tardis for 500000 years
And they're all gonna be shit
I wasn't sure but her waist is 10/10.
The god of skin, shame and secrets
a massive cosmic knob
He is though.
He's not, he's an old as fuck Alien Warlord who got really good at killing shit. So much though that his killing skills are now literally God Tier
On second thought, Aliss's backstory is more interesting than anything we saw in the episode.
Yeah, the doctor who youtubers who have a bunch of acting credits. What a fucking retard jesus christ
Didn’t even realise there was a new series airing
I don't even get the point of adding Mara and Trickster to the list, when Russel's probably never gonna do anything with either.
Should at least do something with the Trickster, he's already from a show with writing on par with the last 5 seasons.
They really should have brought the Trickster back instead of Sutekh shit. I know he's more of a Sarah Jane thing but his episodes were always some of the best in that show. It also would have been a chance to reuse the Sarah Jane Series 5 plot that never got finished.
didn't watch, does she actually speak in the episode
Yes, but they got a deaf person who doesn't sound completely retarded when they speak. It's more like she has a strange accent.
Yeah, she has I wanna say a line count close to Gatwa this episode from what I recall
watching revival era Doctor Poo
Trickster would've solved half the issues people had with Gatwa's first season anyway. Hides away on the Tardis seething and seeding his master plan for years upon years, through all the shit 11-13 go through? Yeah, I can get that. That's a Trickster thing to do.
Name a Harbinger after the Doctor's Grand-daughter to fuck with him? Yeah, I get that. Trickster thing to do.
Put way too much value in a woman's mom that was super special because everyone thought she was special, so the universe made her special? Yeah, Trickster's the type of character to do something silly like that.
Sutekh? Never felt like a character who'd do any of that.
The time between Midnight and the Well is nearly the same amount of time between Rose and Dragonfire
No it wasn't, she was just a deaf woman with a kid.
yeah and her being deaf makes zero sense since this is supposed to be eons in the future and somehow deafness can't be cured
He's one of the few people who have written more Doctor Who episodes than they've seen.
If anything he's OVER-qualified.
Really feels like Moffat got asked to tweet this because last weeks episode had a whole segment about Blink being the best
tfw marathon the FUCK out of Pertwee's run
How can one man be so based?
Nuwho > classic who
If she's born deaf then she can't be cured.
being gay > being straight
Whatever you say, finger of fudge.
Honestly in hindsight the more time passes the more I'm believing this, he had a couple good episodes but it's nowhere near the same quality as someone like Moffat, Mathieson or Whithouse
Aliss should've done what Sky did in the original episode, have the deaf girl be possessed and trying to escape with the group but have the doctor be the paranoid one turning against eveyone instead of the humans this time, I just don't see the point in bringing back them if they're gonna behave completely differently for no real reason, this whole episode just reminds me of another case of when they brought back the weeping angels the first time for Smith's tenure
I think he might just be sick of people constantly telling him that his work peaked 18 years ago and it's been all downhill since then
Classic who didn't have the straightest episode of all time.
The Green Death made me feel too melancholic to continue past Sarah Jane's first serial. I still need to finish his episodes off.
Every Fourth Doctor episode was super straight. He was blatently banging every single one of his companions. Especially Romana II
not by modern technology but this is literally supposed to be the very far future
Please understand. Earth is gone gone, space couldn't invent the cure for deafness without us. But don't worry, sign language is at least mandatory for all nurses!
There aren't enough Classic Who image macros in these threads and I'm fucking tired of it.
The Fourth Doctor has a big scarf. Gay.
But don't worry, sign language is at least mandatory for all nurses!
Which raises the question of whether the TARDIS was translating the Doctor and Aliss' respective forms of sign language, or if BSL is just the standard on their alien planet too?
Versus:
leather jacket man
twink in tweed suit
twink in tweed suit with bowtie and fez
an autistic woman with lesbian vibes
a literal black faggot
masterminded by a fat Welsh puffter obsessed with muh 80s AIDs drama
Capaldi couldn't even save nuWho from the turbofaggotry.
Everybody has a subtitle button
Still learning sign language though
Pretty dumb. I'm enjoying the episode so far, even if nostaligia baiting is pointless. Not sure if I care to come back for the next episode though.
11 and 12 are the straightest Doctors.
did Ruby get pregnant or something? how are her tits so big now?
nooo don't suck my cock, ginger slag
muh history is colourblind, lesbian companion
Slag genetics.
Even today we still have programs signed despite subtitles existing.
nah it's the same one
Forms of sign language could not be translated, (PROSE: No One Died [+]) including British Sign Language. (TV: Under the Lake [+]) When a Viyran communicated with the Tenth Doctor using a form of sign language, Rose Tyler asked why she could not understand. The Doctor explained that the translation circuit was incapable of translating it. (PROSE: No One Died [+])
bit ableist
There's also this fucker from the T*tan Comics, because when you imagine the embodiment of fear you imagine a generic gay anime villain. Of course this fits perfectly at home with Russell's shite.
Makes Peri leave the Tardis for unknown reasons
And this is why 6th is the gayest Doctor.
NO RUSSELL YOU MUST DIE!
DIE RUSSELL
DIE RUSSELL
The 9th Doctor was going to fuck a tree with boobs.
The 10th Doctor snogged Madame de Pompadour and fell for the slag
11 is gay though he kissed Rory.
12 had the displeasure of fucking River for years.
13 can't be gay if she's not interested in anyone.
15 had some weird romantic "I do" moment with Belinda tonight, though he does like man cock.
Whereas 4 cared more for jelly babies than women.
unknown reasons
nuwhofag knows nothing about Doctor Who, what a shock.
11 also killed Jenny and River.
The 10th Doctor snogged Madame de Pompadour and fell for the slag
He's still a raging bisexual twink who cries like a fag.
12 had the displeasure of fucking River for years.
May as well have fucked a man in a wig.
13 can't be gay if she's not interested in anyone.
Dresses like a lesbo, plus asexuality in women is just code for suppressed lesbianism.
15 had some weird romantic "I do" moment with Belinda tonight, though he does like man cock.
Gay as a motherfucker.
Whereas 4 cared more for jelly babies than women.
Jelly babies are based and he still fucked Romana II.
Jenny doesn't count. Even the gayest Doctor would snog her. 11 only kissed River because it was that or the universe being broken forever.
He's still a raging bisexual twink
Only 14 is before he bi-generated the gay out of him with Ncuti. Making 14 the straightest Doctor post bi-generation.
May as well have fucked a man in a wig.
Better her than a man.
asexuality in women is just code for suppressed lesbianism.
She rejected Yaz.
he still fucked Romana II.
Tom did. 4 died a gay virgin.
Are we regenerating?
he bi-generated the gay out of him
lol. lmao even.
Better her than a man.
Doesn't count for anything. Bitch looks like one.
She rejected Yaz.
Based. She's an ugly brownoid.
Tom did.
Tom IS the Doctor.
IF WE WATCH SHOWS FOR FAGGOTS, WE WILL BECOME FAGGOTS!
Yaz > Rose
Permanent migraine > Rose
Kinda gives vibes of Russell maybe not trusting the story by itself and feeling he needs to go "Remember this when the show was more popular?"
Which is dumb because the casual viewer won't even remember.
lol. lmao even.
14 is the only Doctor with 0 gay in him now.
Bitch looks like one.
Still has the parts.
Tom IS the Doctor.
tardis.wiki
Tom Baker was an actor who played the Fourth Doctor
No.
Why didn't they just make deaf girl back up against a wall?
What would have been different if she wasn't deaf???
nuWho
Soap opera shit. Gay.
Classic Who
Based old school sci-fi. Not gay. There will be no further arguments.
This is why classic had a viewscreen, and the Tardis should always have it.
Third Doctor giving absolutely zero fucks
Beyond based.
Rogue was utter shit.
Lux was utter shit.
Best episodes of Series 14.
this is the absolute best turd from this pile of shit, it really is
If you ignore the 'what planet is this?' part it didn't really link to the original at all.
I wish they kept the Whomobile.
When do we get to watch the doctor split open a cute femboy in the back of the who mobile
They couldn't have kept it, it was Jon Pertwee's own personal posession. That's how fucking based he was.
who1.uk
like Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Kek, that's what it had me thinking of.
long shot, but do any of yous have the old newspaper comic GIFs?
They should've made another or paid him an immense amount of money to keep the thing. It was fucking great.
She turned all the way around early on and nobody died.
new thread
Fucking nightmare to drive it on anything other than a completely flat surface though. That's why in The Planet Of The Spiders you only see it being driven on an airfield lol
Because it was still behind her. The midnight line explains it, its at the opposite point to you and strikes when it has nowhere else to go. Nothing happened earlier because there was nobody behind her.
Rogue is a weird way to spell Boom, but I guess you've got cum in your eyes or something?
