As I was trying to post before the previous thread mysteriously disapeared:
One thing I hate ITT and everywhere else for that matter is the amount of gaslighting I'm seeing comparing the quality of S2 first 3 episodes to the first 3 episodes of S1.
They are comparable only in the fact that there was a "slow start", however, only one of them was actually engaging.
In Season 1, we were quickly introduced to Cassian Andor, and his purpose, and through some happenstance, he killed two officers. What did he do after that? Did he sit on Ferrix for the next 3 days and hope things magically blow over? No, he quickly took steps to get out of the situation he was currently in, he was on the run. And in the meantime, we were able to focus on Syril, arguably the character who carried the first 3 episodes, in his honest persuit of who was responsible for killing those 2 officers. It was intense, it was engaging seeing those two in a cat and mouse game. It was building up to something and actually had stakes involved.
Now let's compare this to Season 2. We are re-introduced to Cassian Andor, now experienced rebel, who's first goal is to steal a Tie Fighter. Though he bumbles through it, he is successful in his mission and makes it to the rendezvous planet where he is... Immediately captured and now had to sit on his ass doing absolutely fuck all for THREE EPISODES. And our "Antagonist" is not the pragmatic and competent Syril, it's a group of bumbling fucking retards who have 0 coordination and want to kill each other by the end of the 1st episode.
I could explain why the rest of the plot points were a waste of time, but that was already conceded as being terrible trying to compare it to S1 as if they were both bad. To put it simply, everyone else in the show is waiting for Cassian to do something.
I hope I've made it clear as to why these first 3 episodes of these two seasons are not comparable, and will not be gaslit into thinking S1 3 episode build up was as bad as S2.

The critics have said that the first 3 episodes of S2 are the weakest. The farm planet was pretty good, the meeting was good, the Imperial dinner with mom was hilarious, and the Mon Mothma story was slow as usual but at least the production values were great.
