Masters of the Universe 2026

CinemaCon has come and gone, but one of its most buzzed-about moments came courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, who unveiled an electrifying sizzle reel for their upcoming Masters of the Universe movie. Presented at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the footage offered an early, high-energy glimpse at the live-action adaptation of the iconic '80s property — and it did not disappoint.

The reel opened with sweeping shots of massive sets constructed in London, intricately detailed weapons, and a first look at the cast in full costume. One standout moment featured Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, with his blonde locks dramatically blowing in the wind — a hero moment that drew cheers from the audience.

Several jaw-dropping set pieces were featured, including the fictional planet Eternia and the legendary Sword of Power, earning audible reactions from the crowd. “We’re not making a cartoon here, we’re making a live-action fantasy film,” said director Travis Knight, making clear the film’s ambition. Knight, who revealed he had a He-Man haircut as a kid, spoke from a place of deep fandom. “It’s the rebirth of this incredible world,” added producer Jason Blumenthal, speaking from set.

Visually, the film is shaping up to be a dream come true for longtime fans of the Masters of the Universe franchise. The costumes are remarkably faithful to their original toy counterparts — Teela, Man-At-Arms, and Skeletor all appear lifted straight from the vintage Mattel designs, albeit updated with a grounded, cinematic aesthetic. Jared Leto’s Skeletor, in particular, looks menacing and visually striking. Meanwhile, Evil Lyn and Teela’s updated designs bring style and strength in equal measure, with a sleekness that already has fans buzzing.

The sizzle reel also included footage of Galitzine’s intense physical transformation for the role, highlighting sword training, weightlifting, and glimpses of him in full He-Man armor. “He is transforming — it is amazing to watch,” Blumenthal praised. One standout moment saw Galitzine flexing in costume, muscles on display, looking every bit the iconic hero — complete with what one could call the most impressive blowout seen on screen in some time. The reel ended with a triumphant close-up of Galitzine in character, sword in hand, triggering massive applause.

Additional footage showed Camila Mendes training on stunt wires and sprinting across set, as well as massive castle sets under construction — complete with green screens and practical effects galore. A mix of real-world builds and VFX wizardry brings the world of Eternia to life, with Knight leaning into the tactile feel of physical environments whenever possible. “By the power of Grayskull!” is heard in the background, as He-Man’s gleaming sword gets its hero moment on screen.

YouTuber John Campea, who attended the presentation, reported spotting fan-favorite characters like Battle Cat, Spikor, Beast Man, and several others who haven’t yet been officially announced. “It’s like they put all the old toys in this movie,” he said — with the exception of the Snake Men and the Horde. Still, for longtime fans, the vibe is unmistakably classic MOTU — just with a modern, big-screen upgrade.

This project marks the first major tentpole treatment of the Mattel property, and if the CinemaCon reel is any indication, Masters of the Universe is on track to deliver an epic, nostalgic, and action-packed return to Eternia.

Jared Leto’s Skeletor

This is infantile. It's a cartoon made to sell toys to children a generation ago.

Minecraft is a hit. Cope

t. capeslop watching faggot

Because kids actually care about Minecraft, retard. They don't give a shit about He-Man anymore.

Are they making Ivan el Trolazo canon yet?

Explain Barbie then

MotU will be like Barbie success

Mattel won, Transformers lost

Explain Barbie then

Women

What flicks did Travis Knight direct? Isn't he the son of Nike owner? Basically nepobaby

45% of those who watched Barbie were men

MotU will be like Barbie success

delusional
besides isn't this just some streaming slop

but enough about you

"men"

No, motu will be theatrical exclusive, that's why Amazon bought MGM. They actually want to do big event theatrical films because they know streaming films are shit. Netflix sadly can't understand that. Even Apple got it.

Barbie was made for the TikTok generation. 99% of the film’s success is attributed to forced marketing all across social media that reached these kids and brainwashed them.

Thanks Kevin Smith

Yeah sure just like minecraft was

And how exactly does this brainwash kids you schitzo?

The only thing I know about He-Man is this clip about how they created Battle Cat.

youtube.com/watch?v=WM9qeu_4Osg

So like Joker (2019)?

albeit updated with a grounded, cinematic aesthetic

woke leather jackets and buzz cut for womyn

Because kids actually care about Minecraft, retard. They don't give a shit about He-Man anymore.

This isn't for them retard.

The Bumblebee movie.

I hope they stay away from the Kevin Smith shit completely. Just pretend it never happened.

Is it still a part of their shared universe?

That's what a universe is dummy

I was expecting this to be Thor 4-lite but, from the sound of it, it seems like it's gonna be played straight.

I will trust Knight

How so?

The hands look normal, not muscly

Jared Leto’s Skeletor

Aaaand I'm out.

Meanwhile, Evil Lyn and Teela’s updated designs bring style and strength in equal measure, with a sleekness that already has fans buzzing

Sounds like some P.R. bullshit, but I'm hopeful. I never really understood how an actress can get butt ass naked in other projects, but when they do capeshit they're all like, "You better cover me up! I'm not a pin up girl."

image1-4.jpg - 2100x3150, 707.54K

Weren't a lot of the people involved in the original He-Man super gay and all the gay subtext about manly men was absolutely intentional?

Ram Man ain't gay! You take that back!

I will trust Knight

Why? Isn't he the Daredevil showrunner?

Also, was Stratos... black?

I'm old enough to be peak he-man fan and I'm too old to be watching this kinda shit, i really dont know who this is for.

It's not the actresses that demand to be covered up in kevlar, it's the studios. It looks like He-Man is going to be half naked, so the chicks better be too.

It's a cartoon made to sell toys to children a generation ago.

A lot of the cartoons from this period are still relevant today. Transformers, Thundercats, GI Joe. You can call it "nostalgia". But this nostalgia only exists because the characters and the worlds have endured for decades while other cartoons a long forgotten curiosities.

They better! Even Camilla Mendes(?) aka Teela is a fucking cosplayer.

To not make them slutty AF would be insulting to both actresses. Great casting there because of that.

No he wasn’t the Daredevil showrunner

Kubo and the Two Strings

Too bad. Daredevil was badass and loyal to the source material. This Knight fag probably directed "Frozen Empire". PASS

passed on this guy as Johnny Storm

Is Feige retarded or something? An FF with

Gyllenhaal

Robbie

this Galitzine guy

some tough guy as Ben

would've made billions. Now watch them flop.

Honestly, this cast seems pretty good desu. If they pull off a Sci-Fi Fantasy Epic I hope it does well.

You can never top Langella as Skeletor. Not even a contest. No one alive who could play it beter

It was his favorite role too.

If its that good where is the YouTube clip of it all?

If thej film makers had any confidence in this at all they would have released this all over the internet within 5 minutes of it being shown at the convention, rather than have some faggot write up a transcript instead of letting people just see the whole thing for themselves.

Of course if they really had confidence in it they wouldn't have let Leto anywhere near it. His inclusion in the cast just confirms they never wanted it to succeed.

The only way this could be redeemed is if, like Barbie, the whole set up is meant to be a joke and its a comedy movie about someone making a bad reboot of the original MotU film, so having Leto in it is actually a joke about how you cast him to sink your film.
