CinemaCon has come and gone, but one of its most buzzed-about moments came courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, who unveiled an electrifying sizzle reel for their upcoming Masters of the Universe movie. Presented at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the footage offered an early, high-energy glimpse at the live-action adaptation of the iconic '80s property — and it did not disappoint.
The reel opened with sweeping shots of massive sets constructed in London, intricately detailed weapons, and a first look at the cast in full costume. One standout moment featured Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, with his blonde locks dramatically blowing in the wind — a hero moment that drew cheers from the audience.
Several jaw-dropping set pieces were featured, including the fictional planet Eternia and the legendary Sword of Power, earning audible reactions from the crowd. “We’re not making a cartoon here, we’re making a live-action fantasy film,” said director Travis Knight, making clear the film’s ambition. Knight, who revealed he had a He-Man haircut as a kid, spoke from a place of deep fandom. “It’s the rebirth of this incredible world,” added producer Jason Blumenthal, speaking from set.
