It's just entertainment at the end of the day so I don't care but this is also symbolic for a number of reasons. One, Aslan is a male lion. Lions don't sound like broads. Two, Aslan is supposed to be a direct allegory/parallel to Jesus Christ. Making a woman voice a well established avatar of Christ will turn fans of Narnia against the production as well as people who actually practice spirituality and don't just profess it so they can claim offense and be accepted.
I don't care because I won't watch and don't care about any of Greta Gerwig's productions but this will not bold well.
