Remember the glory days of G4 from between 2002-2006? When they had X-Play, Cheat, Electric Playground, Call for Help, Filter, and other great shows before they started airing shit reruns like Cops and Cheaters

Even in the glory days I thought they had some of the worst god damn opinions ever. And I didn't even like JRPGS so it wasn't because they hated anime or anything. I just watched shit like Arena or Cinematech.

G4 was always shit.

I remember watching this live.
It was a core memory

cinematech was kino though looking back not trying to be a woke fag here but the way they treated Japanese games and JRPGs especially as total garbage and the culture around it laughable they would then pivot to whoring out the japanesr models. but in a way that was like these are fuckdolls and not as high status as the blonde playboy bunny or olivia munn the hapa

yes, the very pinnacle of western civilization,

"""glory"""
do early millennials have nostalgia for a single fucking non-embarrassing thing? How many times do people have to shoot down Terminator 3 apology you fucking retards?

2002-2006

It's a cliche at this point to claim the time you were 12-14 as the peak of all civilization but with high speed internet becoming commonplace, no third world, no smartphones, it was such a good time to be that age, to be young, the internet was so engaging that it made me sort of believe that it would be this way forever.

I get nowadays that people look back at G4 and that corporate takeover of video games as the beginning of the end, but honestly I'd take an indifferent to games, vaguely left wing, mostly in it for the money Chad/Stacy public representation of vidya than the openly hostile politically activated freaks that hijacked that sphere in the 2010s.

Nobody needed to watch it when high speed internet became common place. If people were watching these shows, they wouldn't have to replace it with syndicated reasons.

have a hot ex cheerleader read out shit you could look up on GameFAQs in 2 minutes

it was a different time

manjaw and jewboy

unironically preferred reviews on the run at least the guy who wasn't tommy tallarico played video games

I wonder why they rolled with it and kept trying to continue instead of cutting and letting the guy collect himself and his broken cylinder pieces

I'd never listen to what she was saying but loved watching her speak

You mean tech tv? G4 was garbage

Randy Nelson guy is for sure still a virgin

You should make a thread about tech tv. And I won't be able to contribute because no providers carried Tech TV in my area.

Nice

G4 was absolute trash. You are remembering TechTV. TechTV was good.

Did they...

I was kind of young during this era and all I gave a shit about was that show that gave you cheat codes.

to humiliate him i think.

I genuinely didn’t find her attractive until I got older. There was this other chick on g4 that was hotter. The one with the legs

G4 was trash but I remember Tech TV being based, comfy and informative. I loved The Screensavers and Call for Help

I still enjoyed G4 I guess, but I agree with this very much. TechTV was a nice channel that felt natural and normal and had this "cutting edge" vibe as opposed to edgy, not trying so fucking hard. G4 felt so phony. Like the ultimate fake corporate idea of trying to sell you on video games being for cool kids. Even at the time I remember feeling like so much of it was cringe and the so many of the hosts were douches.

I liked watching them play CoD.

i loved it all but code monkey fuck that show

Post the gif.

i actually realize met being pissed that jessica chobot got famous for licking a posp made me start my hate for women damn I was like 11 or 12

x-play is fucking shit along with all the other post Tech TV merger bullshit, especially AOTS and that massive faux hawk faggot kevin pereira, he can go die in his sleep

I remember code monkeys distinctly because I realized it wasn't funny in real time. I was 13 and thought it was great at first and by the finale I saw it as hacky and annoying. So it's got a place in my heart for helping me grow up a bit.

TechTV was much better and I enjoyed XPlay when it was called Extended Play. TechTVs real contribution to me, was Anime Unleashed. I watched Dual!, Silent Möbius and Betterman. It was cool to see something other than what was on Toonami and AS.

that was all post merger
G4 pre merger was the shit

miss it when these types of shows would be like here's a hot girl or a random guy off the street but now you need to be a parkour expert or something

G4 had this weird vibe of trying to make video games some macho hobby. It’s hard to explain, but it just felt fake.

My favorite part about G4 was they had Anna Nicole smith cosplay as video game characters for the g4 award show. This was slightly chubby Anna, and I recorded it on tape to jack off to it.

Since I'm also from Oregon she was a big deal for us back in the day

cope faggot

Tech TV was bottom rated cable kino for whites raised by their parents. G4 was for retards from divorced homes and probably only played AAA slop on the PS2 they used for stashing their ditch weed.

For me, it was Laura Foy.

Anime Unleashed was awesome! I remember when SciFi Channel would show anime on Saturdays. I remember watching Venus Wars. I hate to sound old, but Anime was hard to come by, you had to buy tapes, and more obscure stuff was sold by catalogs or watch whatever was on TV. Starz would show it at midnight, stuff like 3x3 Eyes and Macross Plus, obviously Toonami and AS, but everything else was few and far between. My favorite TV memory was flipping through cable and finding some public access channel showing New Dominion Tank Police.

GOOD DAY FELLOWS, FOR IT IS I, SOI KEKGRAVY!
