My theory is still that they made a batch deal for seasons 1-3 so we were going to get those no matter what. They "renewed" both seasons 2 and 3 even before the previous season aired, so it was never dependent on the viewership numbers for those. The moment we didn't get a similar renewal for S4 everyone knew that at the very least something has changed behind the scenes and they were waiting for the numbers this time.

I've never read Wheel of Time but heard good things about it, so I thought I'd give this a try. Watched 10 minutes of the first episode, saw a bunch of ugly brownoids and girlbosses, and turned it off. I can't conceive of anyone watching three seasons of that.

The idea that one bad decision among all the rest was because for some reason a mysterious Amazon exec called them and told them to "invent a wife for Perrin and then have him fridge her" and poor Rafe was forced to do it is a massive cope.
