How did Anon Babble feel about this?

How did Anon Babble feel about this?

Not great but not terrible

kino docuseries but ultimately i felt hatred towards communists and their subhuman behaviour. The soviet union destroyed the credibility of nuclear energy as a clean, viable option for an entire generation. Anyone supporting communism, marxism or its derivatives should have the absolute shit beat of them with a tire iron

they got this fungus that eats the radioactive now

I think it's mostly the idea that a closed government controlled enterprise will always have the best interests in people at heart
The US's big "nuclear" disaster also hurt but in a different way (an overzealous media market leading to overplaying the dangers of Three Mile Island)

Probably one of the few times where the dishonesty of the film making actually ruined the series.
You had all this ridiculous shit happening and it seemed fucking terrible but then after you finish it up the post credits scene rolls and it turns out only like 30 people died and there wasn't actually a cute girl boss scientist that actually helped out. I get they had to ham it up for the cameras, but the level of amplifying up all the bad shit made it feel kind of icky in retrospect and I can't rewatch the series anymore after knowing how overblown they made the series.

mfw one minute detail from the show is not in line with INSAG-1 and INSAG-7

was breddy good honestly, but I think it would've been more kino if they actually did it with Russian/Ukrainian actors, in Russian

It was actually thousands who died from the disaster from the fallout (although the series should have noted that the divers survived before the end credits). At least a quarter of the miners have died from complications and a large percentage of the liquidators died. It's hard to tell exactly in part because Skarsgard's character help set up a policy to prevent listing deaths as a cause from radiation. Was you expecting every plant worker to have died immediately? They kept that plant running for another 13 years

If anything you could say the show wasn't cynical enough because Jared Harris's character irl was a seasoned party man and went along with the party's coverups. He was in charge of the nuclear industry in the USSR; you don't get that without knowing party politics

Lol fpbp

They would have never been able to make this in Russian

Why not?

Can you think of any capitalist enterprise that has intentionally acted against any and all energy alternatives to oil?

he missed out on chernobyl posting

Could not get past ep 01

Tell me why should I care about this show?

No, you're not important, fuck off

why couldnt you? ep1 if anything is one of the best

You had all this ridiculous shit happening and it seemed fucking terrible but then after you finish it up the post credits scene rolls and it turns out only like 30 people died

Here. You should watch the epilogue again because you clearly weren't watching it the first time

ukrotranny NAFO propaganda

Based.

It would be too anti-government. Look at any Russian made media about this. It's all "look at the bravery of these comrades who risked their lives for the glory of the motherland", not "holy fuck look at how fucking dangerous this is" and "look at the incompetent fools who let it happen"

We don't care what you should care about faggot

Actually true. One and a half really great episodes, then descends into utter mediocrity. Except of course it becomes 10/10 again whenever Paul Ritter is on screen.

The bridge of death was fucking nonsense
Apparently none of those people died and it was called the bridge of death before the disaster

What are the flaws? I thought it was great how bleak everything was

Made both chuds and troons seethe I recall

It singlehandedly turned everyone into a sudden instant expert on nuclear power and successfully fearmongered the politicians and the general public into rejecting nuclear power in several nations.

yeah recently tried to rewatch it, episode 1 was insanely good, unparalleled atmosphere, but then it slowly becomes cartoonish and buffoonish with nolan-tier dialogue

great show and great moment in Anon Babble history

Watching this with Anon Babble reminded me of /LOST/ it was a last hurrah of a dying website.

I learned that radiation can be spread like a contagious disease and that pregnant women have a natural save vs. radiation because the fetus soaks it all up then gets pushed out.

I agree if it were Russian made. But you could still have it produced in the same way, just hire Russian actors instead of English ones. I think it could work.

I find it funny that burgers first heard about the incident from a fucking HBO show

No?

faggot ass pussy ass bitch nigga question mark

Not for the intended audience
Maybe for niche audiences who only want subs not dubs

Everyone loved it. /rb9k/ was the best. I miss it every day

Wasn't the series adapted from a book full of insane exaggerations on the same level as concentration camp rollercoasters?

Great show. It imprinted itself emotionally on me to a greater extent than regular "relationship drama" shows that run for multiple seasons like The Sopranos or Breaking Bad.

HBO's apology for GoT season 8

Who actually made this? Because its clear Craig Mazin is not capable of making something good

Okay explain it to me because I'm a retard-

Why did they do such an insanely dangerous test? What was the point?

It was designed as a failsafe and they had to test how long the pumps could run off the dying turbines if the power was ever cut (to avoid just such a situation)

There was nothing inherently dangerous about the test itself. They had tried it several times before and all that happens is a reactor goes offline for a few hours. A lot of things lined up just right to cause the disaster.

Confirmed propaganda. Russia has disputed the whole 'accident' theory since day 1, and recently confirmed it was likely the result of sabotage.

nothing ever happened, it was just 3.6 roentgen

confirmed

Source?

"Accident"

"Sabotage"

It was a design flaw.

Kek
Russia just keeps enforcing the same broken system

we have done a complete internal review and found ourselves free of any wrongdoing

the guys going comrade this comrada that, was so hilariously stupid.
also hated that stupid faggot always going "hurr durrr do it, because I say so, fuck the guy that came all burned and shit, he does not know what he is saying, I say the core didn't blow up lol"

Retard

it's a good drama but it's not historically or scientifically accurate. the real chernobyl incident while bad was not nearly as catastrophic as the series made it out to be or as it was perceived even before the hbo series

i mean. the ussr didn't do that. the USAnian and other western country's propaganda after the incident did that. they had an economic interest in doing so.

Never heard of it.

cute girl boss

cute

What?

Supposedly a bunch of people died from health complications but I wonder how much of that could just be attributed to typical shitty lifestyle choices from the 80’s.

its good and made ziggers seethe with the fury of a thousand sneeds before being exposed as the complete losers they are in 2022
