If you teach a shitty subject, sure. An assistant/associate econ professor makes 180k/year, for example (some good schools start at 220k). Maybe you'll make 120k if you work in a shitty university, but that goes a long way in Bumfuck, Iowa. That's more than what 80% of engineers make and it's way easier and lower stress.
