They sharted up this entire phase with the stunt doom casting. It fails on multiple levels. The Doctor Doom plot is now at least partially about Tony Stark instead of Doom being 100% Doom. And now they either have to choose between hiding the most recognizable face in the MCU behind a mask while he does an accent, making him essentially unrecognizable, or having him take his mask off all the fucking time and speak plain english, which means it's not even Doom any more.

They made Doom not Doom so the character could be not-Iron Man either. It's just a desperate callback to the one thing they know everyone liked but it's not actually that thing so why should anyone care? The is the MCU's "somehow, Palpatine returned."

The IS was perfectly crafted, slowly introducing characters in their own films with small cameos and connections to one another, the Stones being brought in slowly piece by piece so we knew where they were and what they did by the time Thanos rolled around to collect them.
The MS has been completely disconnected, the movies barely related to one another, the characters feel worlds apart (not to mention, lame as fuck).
The Avengers movies used to be an accumulation of all the movies before it. Now they feel like standalone entries that people will see and only see without watching the rest.
