/who/ - Doctor Who General

Nyssa Edition

first for the absorbaloff

dugga doo

"american" dairy

Moffat's problem is he kept having Mark Gatiss write an episode or two for each of his series, and it would almost always be some of the dumbest filler ever.

Gatiss peaked with his first episode.

Two words for the problem with Doctor Who: Fitzroy Tavern
None of these fuckers should have anything to do with the franchise ever again, nor the people they've hired
Completely clean slate

Death to Cheers Jon Blum

RTD era

The Unquiet Dead - decent

The Idiot's Lantern - shit

Moffat era

Victory of the Daleks - shit

Night Terrors - shit

Cold War - shit

The Crimson Horror - okay

Robot of Sherwood - okay

Sleep No More - sh- well, interesting concept, I bump it up to "okay"

Empress of Mars - okay

he never wrote a 10/10 kino that knocked it out of the park

The Time of Angels > Blink

Village of the Angels > The Time of Angels

QRD on Jon Blum?

about this long, but it’s thick

If you're a cuck yes.

Don't worry about it.
Cheers, Jon Blum.

Victory of the Daleks and Night Terrors > The Unquiet Dead

I could see how you'd disagree with me, if you are gay, yes.

Susan's return was never going to be good. But it's something that needs to happen so people can stop asking for it.

50 year old American Who fan spastic who shacked with a ginger ogre named Kate Orman. He wrote a few crap books during the Wilderness years but mostly rode on the coattails of his wife's books which were marginally less crap. Now spends every waking second of his days pedantically arguing about ratings on GallifreyBase. Basically acts as a shill to whatever the current showrunner is doing.

Nu-uh

Really should have happened for the 50th or 60th. Why we're having her part of a season finale and all the tedious machinations that will come with that, I'll never know

Can't wait for fruity to call her babes and hun

I remember liking cold war but I havent seen it since it aired in what, 2013?

it already happened in big finish
why should we appease autists who have too limited attention spans to listen to audio

It happened in The Five Doctors too.

Racism is bad.

Even though the show has been utter shit, i'm glad all of this got to happen before the show gets cancelled again and everyone from Classic Who is fucking dead.

Why are you here then?

Because I love Doctor Who retard. It's been a part of my life since I was 5 years old. Not gonna abandon it just because it sucks right now. It'll be good again one day.

Tom baker can record big finish but he couldnt put on a robe and sit on a rock for 5 seconds? Big mistake he wasnt a guardian.

I'd rather they not appear at all. Very much a Monkey's Paw situation.

It's not even that bad.

It’s sad that they’ve saved all these callbacks until now, when the show’s in the state it’s in.

Imagine if Susan had returned in Wild Blue Yonder and Wilf's final scene is reacting to the news The Doctor has finally met his Granddaughter again.

Wilf never knew about his granddaughter though.

audio

Non-canon

Why is it on the news?

Have you seen pictures of Tom Baker? He's ghoulish now. He can't even pull off the Curator anymore.

It's honestly because she's a white woman. I do remember an unironic forum tranny listing the companions according to how tolerant/phobic they would be. Martha and Donna were next to each other on the list, and they basically outright said that Martha had more of a chance of being tolerant because she's PoC (this was obviously before 2023).

Nothing. Doctor Who Page literally just makes shit up all the time. It astounds me that page still has a following.

I find it very quaint that Bill Baggs is still charging full price for what are essentially fan films on DVD (not even blu-rays). He'd probably make more money by uploading them to Youtube with ads.

I understand the new series can't afford to dedicate an episode for each and every single companion ala Mawdryn Undead/Battlefield or School Reunion but I will never forgive Moffat for not properly bringing back Ian when he had the chance. And yes, that's on his head because why the fuck would you bring back Coal Hill if not to bring back Ian.

Lol ok tranny

Someone gave me a couple of DVDs with a bunch of those BBV films on them. Are any of them actually worth a watch?

You retards get too caught up in canon and appearence. Its the principal of paying respect to the people involved in the history of the show.
Deaging and cgi shit has killed project.
Shows like Better Call Saul did it right, have a flashback set 10 years ago but dont bother about how anybody looks, you get lost in the actors ability.

The rumour I believe is Moffat wrote a scene for William Russel in Day of the Doctor, but he was ill when filming was scheduled to take place. To make up for it Moffat wrote a scene for William Russel during Death in Heaven, but he was ill again when filming was scheduled to take place.

Nicholas Briggs probably poisoned him so he'd have to record more Big Finish shit from his sickbed.

Chuddie

That's ok, he can play the Giga Curator.

Giga Curator.jpg - 798x1200, 157.14K

What was the lore explanation for Colin being a fat cunt now?

Only the early PROBE ones

but he was ill when filming was scheduled to take place

Yet he still managed to cameo in AAISAT

I dont think Tales of The Tardis had one. Time Crash just said time lines are out of synch and theyd look normal when they went back.

The old Doctors are bi-generated. Clearly after Time and the Rani the Sixth Doctor swore that he would never use an exercise bike ever again.

iirc in the Curse of Fenric one McCoy implies that he's an alternate Seven who didn't die in the TV Movie. Also Russell says that bi-generation means all the old Doctors are still out there.

feels crazy when they wheel out the old straight white man who made the show popular to interact with the gay black man and indian woman who are now at the helm

He was healthy 3 months earlier so how could he be sick now?

it's the dark the future where chuds have finally won and became the dominant force in the dystopian machine started by leftist they have started systematically persecuting everyone, including jailing and killing people for having ever posted anything positive about woke content (anything with non-whites and queers that's not excplicitly negative about these topics) on the internet
after exterminating the entire leftist generation, leftism has seemingly gone extict, but the new generations of young people who never knew any other world than the chud dystopia are slowly starting to rebel, hiding in their own new version of the internet that is outside of chud survelliance and sharing any pre-chud world media that survived through those local indepndent networks and illegal USB's
in this world the Ncuti Dr Who period has become a cult classic (everyone still hates Whittaker and Tennant tho), with Space Babies in particular considered to be a metaphysical masterpiece

Jodie would be peak in this timeline though.

how many more times is he gonna force this pasta

That doesnt even make any fucking sense. So now no regeneration scene is canon because theres no scenes of two doctors interacting? Fucking retarded cunt. Cant handle the death of his husband so he has to ruin Doctor Who.

who shacked with a ginger ogre named Kate Orman

She created the character, Penelope Gate, to function not just as the Doctor's human mother, but to be her self insert. She's described as a "plump" redhead, who goes with the Doctor's Father as played by Sean Connery on adventures through time and space. She used bits of the second 90s reboot pitch to come up with this lore. Lance Parkin used the first one which had an Ancient Egyptian woman as the Doctor's Mother, with his father hailed as a god in those times due to his technology.

I will write some more filth tomorrow.

Any nominations for characters who should get molested by the Rani?

"plump"

She wishes

It will be so funny in 10 years watching doctor who and spotting dugga doo in the background.

That moment you realise RTD1 was only good because he had BBC executives restraining him.

Limitations tend to foster more creativity. Makes you have to think on what to do rather than become complacent. That and it prevents one from going hog wild with the property. Creatives arent infallible and even the good ones are capable of creating dog shit.

No I didn't.

JAV is a good example of this.

Sutekh isn't just an alien now he evolved into a force of nature.

Nightshade is actually a really good VNA. Seems he blew his load pretty early in regards to writing DW.

Like I said, they're essentially fan films. You have to put yourself in the mindset of "I'm at a fan convention in the 90s, Doctor Who is cancelled and this is the most content I'll get outside of comics/books".

Anons known that. Their issue is that was a decision RTD did not have to make and it was badly explained. That you have the whole Sutekh sitting on the TARDIS and Sutekh being collared does not help either. It is as the post says about RTD can write whatever, that does not mean it is good or should have been done.

bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002d3lr

Rose Noble - Yasmin Finney

Oh for god's sake Donna's tranny daughter is in the finale! I still remember last year when he showed up and even RTD2 fans were asking why he was there. You just know he's gonna do fuck all as well since he's not been mentioned in the leaks.

Sienna-Robyn Mavanga-Phipps

Rose Noble

I like how the autistic wiki has to archive every piece of information, no matter how trivial, EXCEPT Rose Noble's birth name.

EXCEPT Rose Noble's birth name.

It does though? They go about it a really autistic way, but it still says it.

Rose was born some time after Donna Noble and Shaun Temple's wedding in the spring of 2010. (TV: The End of Time (part two) [+]) She was assigned male at birth and given the name of "Jason"

tardis.wiki/wiki/Rose_Noble

Oh, I was unaware they added it. After Star Beast came out there was an editing war amongst the users.

I'll never get out of all the companions in Who, the only people Unit ever hired was Martha Jones. Mel, Donna and Rose Noble.

Russel Tovey is the 16th Doctor and war between the land and the sea is season 3

9th doctor cosplay. Thoughts?

There was a debate on whether to include it when the episode aired which was a classic case of autists fighting autists
Tranny autists demanding it be removed and that anyone who includes it is an evil transphobic bigot, while archivist autists demanding it be included because it's a piece of information that's relevant to the character

They hired Tegan and Ace in Power of the Doctor didn't they. Hell, Kate offered everyone a job at Doctorholics anonymous, she's very desperate.

Old Gil.jpg - 328x283, 14.04K

Mrs Flood is the Watcher.

It's one thing to add a new ending onto season 2 at the last minute but are you really suggesting that a whole spin-off which finished filming last year was built on the premise that the main show would shit the bed and Ncuti would have to be replaced.

ace

character assassination

lmao, where can I read this? The only people more autistic than troons are archivists.

That ship already sailed when they made her a CEO.

Hit the gym, bro.

Enemies that should have been brought back instead of The Rani:

The Monk

Draconians

Magnus Greel

Black Guardian

Great Vampires

Fenric

Of a charity

Why would he need to explain what it looks like to her?

I know nothing about Classic Who. Is the Rani a big deal? Have Classic fans been asking for her to come back?

No, ncuti was always leaving after series 2 and they shot series 2 and 3 at the same time with different doctors.

New Who fans who haven't watched Classic want her back because they think she's important. Same with The Valeyard.

What if the Master but a WOMAN!?

Which was better?

Time's Vigilante in the VNAs where she'd help people regardless of whatever laws of time says and had a time traveling motorbike instead of a TARDIS.

Time Lady in Big Finish where they keep to the original ending for the character where she'd go to the Academy on Gallifrey and become a Time Lady, regenerations and all. Too bad RTD put a kibosh on those plans

The head of some boring charity from SJA

ace-119.jpg - 796x1188, 145.07K

no, not remotely. No one likes the Rani

The Rani returning has long been a joke. Think like images of production show a female character or a female character in an episode is mysterious then the joke go to would be it is going to secretly be The Rani. It became a point of shitposting leaks would say The Rani and Omega would return from both that joke and how it would be scrapping the barrel of Classic character - which makes it insane that we have now reached tis point. She is in two serials in an era where the show as imploding due to both internal problems with the production team and the external undermining of the BBC. The most you have about the Rani earnestly being discussed is that rather than making the Master Missy they could have brought back the Rani if they wanted a female Time Lord/Lady.

Well she's an evil renegade Time Lord, but unlike the Master she's more focused on immoral scientific research rather than obtaining power. Not that it's relevant as RTD will just make her a camp theatrical villain who dances around to pop songs.

Will RTD only hire gay actors to play the Doctor from now on?

You forgot Omega, though Bob Baker's estate still hold the rights.

She only had 2 stories, one with the 6th Doctor and the Master and the other with the 7th Doctor.

5 and Nyssa should've been a thing.

Is the Rani a god like Sutekh now? Why is it breaking the 4th wall.

ace

not a time lady

Character Obliteration

That clears things up, thanks.

Too bad RTD put a kibosh on those plans

Huh? How did RTD kill it? Was she even mentioned before Chibnall brought her back?

The Valeyard is the important because he's the Doctor.

Or you know make a new villain. /who/ has had this conversation before, but when you get down to it Nu has really created few new villains with iconic status or staying power. The Weeping Angels are the only real one - arguably you can say Slitheen (but the Slitheen are no one's favourite and got relegated to SJA), the Judoon (but they are more background characters than anything and not really villains), Ood (again not really villains) and the Silence (but they fizzled out). Nu has used from Classic: The Daleks, Davros, the Cybermen, the Master, the Great Intelligence, The Toymaker, Sutekh, Sontarans, Silurians, Autons, Zygons, Ice Warriors, even the fucking Macra.

That K9 show was honestly kino thanks to John Leeson and I'm honestly bummed that the movie/animated series where K9 fights Omega has never materialised.

No he isn't. Can we stop this meme?

No hanky panky on the TARDIS

iu[1].jpg - 2000x1000, 181.88K

Until quite late in the writing her dead name was going to be "Ross", until I pointed out that it was a bad idea as it meant the character would share the same name as a person who is already famous (at least in the UK and Australia) which might mean we ran into problems with merchandise like action figures if we ever did a flashback episode set before they transitioned.

Tovey is the new master.

Rani's a big deal in the sense she's the first evil time lady on screen. She ultimately only had 2 episodes and a canon adjacent eastenders crossover depending on the writer at the time.
She's also seen as one of the worst written characters of Old Who and probably is only relevant because her final story was Time and the Rani the episode where Sylvester McCoy in a Colin Baker wig regenerated into Sylvester McCoy without a Colin Baker wig.
The only actual notable Classic Who timeladies who could've returned are Susan, who's returning and Romana who nu-who doesn't really acknowledge

Just read the edit and discussion history on the article linked here:

Huh? How did RTD kill it?

By making her into the head of some lame charity in the Sarah Jane Adventures. He also made Ian and Barbara into ageless immortals instead of geriatrics with a rockstar son that they are in everything else.

I thought that was Chibnall who'd done that.
Sorry, I haven't really cared about this show since Capaldi, I solely watch out of sunk cost fallacy at this point.

if we ever did a flashback episode set before they transitioned.

Oh fuck me that would have gone down like a lead balloon with the folks who can't even abide the deadname being listed on the wiki.

rockstar son

???

I thought that was Chibnall who'd done that.

Chibnall just followed RTD's lead, and so did Big Finish to the detriment of everything they set up for Ace. They literally had the Doctor's Brother wipe her memories and sent to Earth during the Time War to make it work. And then a book which features 13 and Ace was released that showed that she left right after Survival after being shown her possible futures of Big Finish, VNAs and her death in the comics. And then the show itself contradicted the both of them.

Johnny Chess. Ace was a huge fan of him and he married and divorced Tegan.

I prefer her being the head of a charity. Both of the other options feel too much like fanfiction.

>The Monk

The issue with The Monk is he can be difficult to handle. Like why exactly is his intervention somehow worse than the Doctor's? You can obviously write things for that, but probably just easier to avoid having to. Besides, he should be more comedic than the dramatic season finale or grand stake arc that NuWho would have to do.

Draconians

They are not villains. You can make them villains, or at the least the enemy, but I do not see why you would.

Magnus Greel

Interesting choice, but I do not know what you would do with him. I would also not say he is the interesting part of the serial he is in.

Black Guardian

Too much backstory. You either have to dumb it down and displease people that know Classic, or you confuse people that do not know Classic.

Great Vampires

I sort of like this one, but I would probably want it to be linked to the Time Lords in a way I doubt the show would now do. Also, for what is probably true for all of these, I just do not see them fitting in with the show in its current state. They are the sort of thing I could maybe see working in 11th or 12th, but not where we are now.

Fenric

Sort of similar to the likes of Toymaker and Sutekh in terms of what sort of villain they are. Which I suppose would tie into that focus, but by the same measure it is treading similar ground.

two middling to bad episodes, also

It should be The Rani as no one gives a shit about the character. Bring back someone we would want to see and we would be disappointed by the results / would not want them associated this shit.

Why prefer the boring and mundane over the fantastical? Why do you nerds always hate fun?

They weren't that bad.

You forgot Dimensions in Time

03289.jpg - 400x300, 29.4K

Not canon.

so did Big Finish to the detriment of everything they set up for Ace.

And 8. All that work to make him the Doctor who ended the Time War down the tubes. Then Hurt died which made everything pointless. Not to mention BBC's stranglehold on the War Doc where Big Finish can't depict him in a negative way so instead of being a ruthless warrior committing war crimes left and right, he's a whiny bitch crying about not being the Doctor anymore.

That wasn't as funny as I thought it'd be. Just sad.

Wait until Saturday. RTD will sneek a line in that canonises it (he already cast an Eastenders actress to play her).

Why? What was so wrong with the Doctor fucking his companions?

The Doctor doesn't fuck.

>The Monk

"Oooooo I could never be celibate huni"

>Draconians

"Draconians? I prefer DRAGonians"

>Magnus Greel

"I never thought I tell someone to get back in the (time) closet"

>Black Guardian

"They call me the Black Guardian now babe"

>Great Vampires

"You're not the first man to try and suck me"

>Fenric

"Chess? How about we have a lip sync for our lives instead?"

The Doctor doesn't fuck.

Why? Because you don't?

Yes

More like worst, they look shit.

That's why looms existed.

So the Doctor can't fuck because a bunch of loser autists who don't get any will throw a fit over it. That right?

The Doctor is the best when he's acting like a detective, returning villains and big finales are all shit.

So it looks like RTD ripped off the EU yet again
tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Post-War_universe?so=search

The disappearance of the Time Lords from history had great consequences. One of these consequences was the breakdown of universal "laws," filling the universe with irrationality, ritualism, and magic. (PROSE: The Adventuress of Henrietta Street) The Eighth Doctor frequently came against magic and mysticism as often as he did science and technology during this period

Tenth Planet or Tomb. The Cybermen at there worst are just treated as robots, and emotional robots at that. Tenth has the aspect of them clearly being organic underneath and they do not understand why people do not want to be like them. Tomb has the aspect of them both being cunning and their striving to survive.

I finished Scratchman. Fun read. Weirdly, it's probably the only example of a well written 13.

They exist because of 2 reasons. Both based in autism.

No visible children on Gallifrey in Classic

Fans want the Doc to be some asexual weirdo because they'd feel bad if he's having sex

Yes

Didn't want 8 to be canon

Rips most of his ideas from 8's EU run.

Every day he tries harder and harder to make McGann non canon

I do not buy into the idea the Doctor needs to be asexual, I would just not want it descending into some melodrama about the Doctor and his latest girlfriend.

I would just not want it descending into some melodrama about the Doctor and his latest girlfriend

People can have healthy relationships, my guy.

Every Doctor fucks. It's obvious. The only incarnation I can't imagine fucking is 7, but in lore he would definitely fuck to get one over on someone or as part of some machiavellian scheme

The Doctor doesn't need to be asexual. But at some point if you keep giving him wives and girlfriends, you have to explain why there isn't more Susans running around if the Doctor does indeed fuck especially post Time War

Didn't want 8 to be canon

Source on this?

The Doctor fucking his companions is the equivalent of beastiality. The Doctor is thousands of times more intelligent than them.

Exposure to the Tardis' engines have dropped his (time) sperm count

>Didn't want 8 to be canon

That's a myth based on that one Doctor Who conversation in Queer as Folk. RTD had plenty of opportunity to decanonise McGann but was the showrunner to assert him as canon.

I never said they can't. Just that I have no confidence the show would not descend into melodrama if it were to focus on that. Especially now. If I were to pair any Doctor with a companion it would be Romana, as that makes the most sense given they are both Time Lords. I never got for example what the Doctor sees in Rose Tyler of all people, which is an example of the show focusing on that at the expense of the wider show.

Can't believe the Tardis took the Doctors Time-Lord sperm and put it in Rory instead

The Doctor does not fuck his companions. He makes loves to his companions.

emotional robots

To be fair despite it making absolutely no sense I really liked the emotional cybermen from Earthshock onwards.

Fun fact - the original plan for the TV Movie was to have Tom Baker play the Doctor in the beginning, instead of McCoy to continue the show. This probably means that had the show been brought back, Eccleston would be the Eighth Doctor and Seven would have fought in the Time War.

The Doctor shags 14yo schoolgirls because human laws are nothing to him and also all humans are like babies to him anyway so what's a couple of years.

If Old Who allowed romance for the Doctor, who'd it be for each incarnation?

dugga doo

Just that I have no confidence the show would not descend into melodrama if it were to focus on that.

2 people can't love the fuck out of each other and work fantastically as a Grade A team?

Colin Baker? Evelyn Smythe

Plenty of guys fuck dumbass chicks.
Ugh

Nightmare in Silver is good.

First

He sort of did with that Aztec woman. They probably would not push it anything beyond that.

Second

The somewhat meme answer is Jaime, but they would obviously not do that at in the era. I cannot think of anyone else for him as a serious answer though.

Third

Maybe they would set up Liz, though given her writing-out/leaving that would not get developed. So, if they were to do anything, the only other candidate is Jo - which then you get into the original intention of having Yates and Jo as a couple that went nowhere.

Fourth

Romana is the obvious answer.

Fifth

If Davison got his say then it would probably be Nyssa. I know that some people read Tegan as having an unrequited attraction to the Doctor.

Sixth/Seventh

I have not got anything for these two.

In The End of Time he said that humans are like giants to him.

I never got for example what the Doctor sees in Rose Tyler of all people, which is an example of the show focusing on that at the expense of the wider show.

To be honest, the Doctor groomed Rose. There was going to be an episode in Eccleston's first series about this. He got her the red bike for Christmas, he watched her grow up, they were basically doing the cartmel masterplan but with a council estate chavette instead of a punk.

Doctor has a giantess fetish

he's literally me frfr

5 and Adric

they were basically doing the cartmel masterplan but with a council estate chavette instead of a punk.

Except Ace was like a daughter to the Doc.

I think with posts like that anons are getting at is the self-inserting for women as the companion. Or how a lot of the Tenth Doctor era is him moping about Rose. That is melodramatic and I do not know what to say, beyond perhaps you baiting for replies, if you are not getting his point.

There was also that line where 11 said he could help her with her homework.

Take the melodrama out then. Simple.

What?

I think it was in The Wedding of River Song.

Finished watching Sunmakers. I hate the euroslop episode even more now

That is easier said then done. Depends on what sort of writers you get, and besides it can easily slip into. I am not even against the Doctor having romances, but is easy to see how the show either makes it forced or melodramatic; just saying just don't do that is pretty much a meaningless answer when it comes to practice - there is plenty of things we could say the show should simply not do and yet it has done. Plus, I imagine there is probably only so many times you can play the romance card before it does not just become tired or soap opera like. Again, does not rule out the idea, more the point giving every Doctor a brand new romantic interest would be a bad idea.

Romana is the obvious answer.

Read a fanfic that did the Human Nature plot but with 4, Romana and Adric. 4 and Romana became John and Sarah Smith, with Adric as their son. "Sarah" is Adric's stepmother, with Romana I acting as his blood mother who has long since passed as the fake backstory goes.

Rogue is a masterpiece.

Did 'John' and 'Sarah' exhibit a low-level disdain for their son?

Could he really have feasibly done it at that point. It's not like the Shalka cartoon which was canon for all of 5 seconds, in 2003 McGann had already been the Doctor for seven years. Eight had the Big Finish audio series, novels and DWM comics all going on. As far as the fans were concerned, he was the Doctor and had been for quite a while. Really any attempt to decanonise him would have been needlessly spiteful and only would have pissed off a lot of people. Sure you could dismiss them as nerds and that's probably what 2020s megalomaniac RTD would do but in the 2000s he understood that needed them onboard. He also would have pissed off some of his Fitzroy cronies as well. I can hardly imagine that Briggs would have been happy, nor Gatiss since he wrote for McGann, and that's just two off the top of my head.

Nah, they liked him fine enough. John was pretty fatherly towards Adric, telling him he loves him and all that.

You'd need to get a closer cropped cut, stand a little straighter and furrow your eyebrows more, not enough to look totally pissed off, just a bit less, uh, gormless and little bit more business.

Probably because that anon doesn't know what he's talking about
Here's the actual discussion

so Romana is the only thing left not ruined, it's only a matter of time

How would they ruin her?

Doctor and Romana finally have a romance on screen.
It's a female Doctor and male Romana.

Either the most ugly actress you can imagine or she is made into a he.

He'd peel her old fanny apart and munch it like a melton mowbray pork pie

Actually Doctor. I prefer to go by Roman now.

The Tardis had drifted too far away so it stopped translating Dugga Doo and the Hellions.

Which Doctor actor is objectively the worst person IRL?
The answer is Tom Baker

The audios gave her a new incarnation but walked back on it by having the Doctor's brother travel back and prevent her regeneration.

Tenant of course

Is that Nathaniel?

tennent

Troughton living a double life was pretty cuntish

Audios aren't canon.

Does The Doctor's brother exist solely for retcons?

Does The Doctor's brother exist solely for retcons?

Yes actually.

Brax.jpg - 1280x1811, 385.38K

There is no official canon.

You gotta understand, anon, Juno Dawson has big plans for Romana in 2037.

McGann was controversial, and while decanonising him would have pissed off a lot of people, the casual audience probably wouldn't even notice. I don't think the BBC would have objected either. But I think RTD's version of it would be completely ignoring McGann. Human Nature was what led to some people finally admitting he was canon. Any moment like seeing the line up of Doctors could also just ignore McGann as well.

The Eighth Doctor knew people with those names, but we don't know what they were actually like in canon. We need to adopt a TV first approach or else we're destined to become like Cookieboy.

"Did you know that I was always a man. I actually first regenerated into a woman just before I first met you. Also I always knew you were gay" - Romana after returning

The funny thing about this guy is how incidental the fact that he is the Doctor's brother is, it's honestly kinda based. I mean there's that one novel with him and the First Doctor and that's basically it, I'm not sure they've even met on audio. Really, Bernice Summerfield is the one who he's closely knit with.

Honestly, I'd have to agree given that 8 has since had more companions after Molly along with zero mention of the ones he had in the books and comics.

Hartnell

Openly racist and generally an asshole

Troughton

Left his wife and kids, never spoke to his daughter again and lied to his mother until her death

Pertwee

An alright guy by most accounts

Tom

Alcoholic, didn't speak to his kids for years, tried to kill his mother in law

Davison

Seems based

Colin-Eccleston

Lefty faggots

Tennant

Let his kid troon out, now advocates for trans rights

Matt

Tory

Capaldi-Ncuti

Lefty faggots

So either Troughton, Tom or Tennant.

I know in the Eu there was a part where Brax worked as a 'burner', and knew that the 1st doctor was stealing the Tardis and turned a blind eye, thus enabling the adventures of the Doctor.
I kinda like the idea that the Doctor had a brother looking out for him on Galifrey.

Is it even bigger than Obama's big plan to save the economy?

canon

Really now all that "TV only" would mean is that gobshite like the Timeless Child is etched in stone.

tried to kill his mother in law

Source?

We need a Michael Kirkbride style canon rug pull.

I'd have to say it's a toss up between Tennant and Ncuti. Tennant for the weird shit with his kid and Ncuti for his appallingly entitled attitude, for a supposed Rwandan genocide survivor it's especially jarring.

I kinda like the idea that the Doctor had a brother looking out for him on Galifrey

It stamps out on both ideas of the Master being the Doctor's brother and the Doctor having an evil brother.

Ncuti is just any gay man.

Ncuti is a nice guy.

if you watched The Flux, consider that if Pip and Jane's estate had allowed it the Rani would have been used instead of Tectuan.

Like the Master, the Rani was an old school chum of the 1st Doctor. Basically if Timelord school was Hogwarts the Doctor was Harry, the Master was Ron and the Rani was Hermione.

Seeing as Gallifrey gets destroyed pre-Time War in the books, there's much less chance of them being canon than the audios.

I don't know, my wife thought that Obama's plan to save the economy was pretty big!
I'm genuinely sorry, I couldn't resist.

The episode Space Babies might become very important to the lore of the show and to the Time Lords/Gallifrey

The Rani was a racist who refused to accept that Time Elves liked working Gallifrey's menial jobs and tried to force her own ethics on them?

I was going to ask about Romana then I remembered that she's actually several hundred years younger than the Doctor. Cheeky bastard liked 'em young even back on Gallifrey.

Taking audios and comics out of the mix doesn't really change anything on that front.

Fuck this shit, Love & Monsters should have been the essential episode.

farting spaceship genesis of the time lords

What if Nicholas Briggs released an audio where his Doctor said that the Timeless Child is a myth and anyone who believes that it's true are trannies?

He'd get cancelled for implying being a tranny is a bad thing and all his episodes would be pulled from iplayer while they're being redubbed.

Why is RTD obsessed with mysterious old grannies as a plot device now? bizarre.

The hierarchy of canon goes

TV

New Series Adventures novels

Audios

EDAs/PDAs/VNAs

Comics

Other BBC media

Non-BBC spin-off media

There's a leak for the new season (which has now been deleted) on Gallifrey Base. The leaker also says the Eurovison episode "makes Space Babies look like the Caves of Androzani."

Eh... this week's wasn't the best but I really don't buy that in retrospect. If anything Space Babies makes shit like Interstellar Song Contest look like Caves of Androzani, it really is the lowest of the low.

Season 1 and 2 were meant to be the one season so Susan Twist was probably always meant to be Mrs Flood.

He won't, as he's making Fugitive Doctor audios.

NSA novels are forgotten as soon as they're published. I'd say that audios come second to TV since they actually have the actors.

they deliberately created the Fugitive Doctor so erasing the Timeless Child meant erasing the first black Doctor

How devious

New Series Adventures novels

Audios

The audios are second to TV, with the audio adaptations of the books trumping the originals.

Events of the NSAs have actually been mentioned in the show (Bad Wolf), unlike the audios. In fact, even the comics have been referenced (World Enough and Time) so maybe the list needs adjusting.

Who already has a gorllion bits of former employee turned fanfiction writing

Seeing as Gallifrey gets destroyed pre-Time War in the books, there's much less chance of them being canon than the audios.

This guy placed them in an aborted timeline, which meant Alien Bodies-onward was Post-Zagreus.

Not with the Season 6B cope.

She doesn't recognise a sonic screwdriver and the montage of previous Doctors in The Timeless Children put her before Hartnell

She doesn't recognise a sonic screwdriver

Immediately after 13 says that, Fugitive says that she's smart enough to not need one so you can write it off as that incarnation not using one due to thinking she doesn't need it.

montage of previous Doctors in The Timeless Children put her before Hartnell

Just need to have montages of her in the 6B cope position for people to accept it.

Any nominations for characters who should get molested by the Rani?

Me.

Her TARDIS is a Police Box. She's the 387th Doctor.

You are RTD. Somehow you got a third season. Who do you drag back from Classic?

Adric.

Kandyman.

The policeman from The Unearthly Child.

Valeyard.

Commander Maxil.

Hi, Paul, can you email me tomorrow?

Fenric

I'd ape the Horror of Fang Rock and do another horror story involving the Rutans now that we've got a modern CGI.

But he died!

Would have made more sense than Sutekh

We can rebuild him, we have the technology.

But he died!

So?

Axons, Fenric, Mara

Are we regenerating?

Why not just make a thread rather than ask?

RTD really thought Space Babies would be a huge hit
