Yes, they fought us army to army only a handful of times and got rekt. Ia Drang, Tet Offensive, and Khe Sahn. Estimates are varied, but they lost 6-15x men for every man we lost.

In Khe Sahn we counted over 1600 bodies of the ARVN while losing 270 of our own, so most likely they lost 4500+ men. Tet was crazy lopsided as we killed 20-30x more of theirs as they used human waves against defensible machine guns positions resulting in over 40k deaths.
