Rebooting Superman was the simplest thing. All you had to do was put the audience in an established universe (with only easter eggs to that effect, don't overstuff the movie) and had The Elite as villains. Have an evil Superman clone as part of that team to drive home the point. They act, in a meta context, as the people who hate Superman. In the end, he shows them why he's the best superhero and proves them (and the doubters in the real world) wrong. Elongate it to a 2 hour movie that is short and sweet and DC is saved.

That's a weird one. In previous films they just completely removed the cape for certain shots. No idea why you want a tiny piece of the cape; it's not going to move more realistically than a CGI cape because too much material has been removed. They’re putting their best foot forward and hoping for the best. There’s no way to tell if this movie will do 400m or 1B. One thing is for certain, it will determine whether The Batman 2 moves forward. If it does well The Batman 2 will be scrapped and the DCU will take over entirely. If it flops WB will go straight back to The Batman which was a proven success.

Then they gave those directors too much freedom and you got crap like WW2 or the very late AQ2. Plus they had no plans how to continue.

Marvel has a similar problem now. the board doesn't want to go back to small movies. Everything has to be Endgame. No plan, just throwing movies out for the sake of having a movie.

Being unpredictable > Being good
