Are we living in post-fiction era? It seems like people largely lost interest in products of pure imagination. Every tv show, movie, book, song now has to be somehow be relevant, related to real life events, carry a political message, and shit like that. Game of Thrones was the last time humanity got excited for a story without thinking "yeah but how does it fix racism?"

To be fair, for a while a sizable part of GoT audience actually believed it was set in medieval Europe lol

decent sci fi doesn't sell for shit (bladerunner), and fantasy is full of genderspastics and coomers.

This is not an age for beauty

It seems like people largely lost interest in products of pure imagination

because that shit is for kids, retard

in fact, wasn't that the entire point of the original Neverending Story book? somehow the movie ended up with an entirely opposite message. the book literally says stop living in your fantasy world and care about real shit. yet the movie's message is to read more fantasy books lol

The diverse folk don't have a creative bone in their body

dark skinned subhumans and dysgenic whites don't have imagination, can't "relate" to any character or situation that isn't literally them in real life, today. they lack the intellectual faculties and the interest to immerse themselves in fictional alternate realities.

I think this speaks to a larger idea that people really don't have time to be creative when the economy and society is in a slump. It's hard for guys to sit down and hash out something as creative as never ending story when they have a lot of internal angst about their finances or dealing with the general social pressures at the time. I think it requires a much more gentle time for people to crank out creative works like that, and we don't really live in a time that works for that

the interest to immerse themselves in fictional alternate realities

Game of Thrones was the last time humanity got excited for a story without thinking "yeah but how does it fix racism?"

Are you fucking stupid?

why can't atheists define atheism?

Game of Thrones was the last time humanity got excited for a story without thinking "yeah but how does it fix racism?"

GoT had plenty of idpol problems. masses of people were crying about sansa being gently raped, about dany being a white saviour, in the latter series' about how the cast was too white, etc.

your creativity is your finances when you're a writer. most writers now have simply chosen ragebait as a self operating marketing technique.

it's more a consequence of you being terminally online

the problem is we're more like post-subtlety, post-complexity/ambiguity, post-authenticity...post- the will to tell a story that presents the audience with well-crafted ideas and scenarios and invite them to exercise their judgment
part of this is a reflexive issue, where people have been conditioned to be receptive to propaganda/marketing/groupthink, less genuinely and intelligently critical, less mentally present/focused/engaged, less capable of memory and attachment, and then over time these are the kinds of people involved in the process itself and making decisions
many of whom now also hate beauty and do anything they can to stifle merit
also massive brain/talent drain from anything humanities or art-related to other fields/industries

all this is just the tip of the iceberg anyway

where people have been conditioned to be receptive to propaganda/marketing/groupthink, less genuinely and intelligently critical, less mentally present/focused/engaged, less capable of memory and attachment, and then over time these are the kinds of people involved in the process itself and making decisions

for the people who have power, the "perfect" consumer, voter, worker, etc, is completely braindead and pliable, no sense of identity, no higher aspirations. but an entire nation of people like this is destined for decline and collapse.

Honestly wagecucking just destroys so much of my imagination and ability to give a fuck. I remember hearing that if you're able to stop writing, then you're not really a writer. I wrote 600 pages of epic sci-fi slop and I knew no one would ever read it but now writing it more so the furthest thing from my mind. I cannot imagine it now. The only story I have an interest in writing is a YA novel I have an idea for that might just be weird enough to be successful somehow. Except no one reads anymore. And I'm honestly not talented enough to pull it off.
All my hobbies now versus when I was a NEET, are things that I envision possibly making money off of. Wagecucking fucking ruined my life. I wagecûcked part-time and NEETed on and off til now as 25. Now I'm 31 and my old creative spontaneity is fuckin gone. All that's left is a bare sliver of what remains. All that's left is a psychotinnitus from 9500 hours in a fluorescent linoleum gehenna that didn't get me anywhere better in life in the end.

'Creativity' as an adult is intended to help you rear children, not make a living writing garbage for other stunted adults.

Fiction and immersion is dumb. All that matters in a democracy is politics and convincing people your side is better.

Yes and no.
Even 70 years ago there were a lot of adaptations and/or remakes and/or rip offs, and even today there are original movies, games, series and books.

ur brain is just warped from too much pol that you imagine shit everywhere

This.

It also explains a lot of the crime we see today. Like that guy who called for an Uber and then robbed and murdered the driver. He obviously wasn't intelligent enough to have empathy. And he didn't have the mental bandwidth to run through the scenario in his head. What will happen if I kill someone working for a company that has my phone number and credit card info? And is someone driving people around late at night for extra cash even going to have any money to steal?

Stay off Anon Babble kids. It's making you into zero self awareness retards

I've read Dune.
Its overrated shroom trash that only trannies and Anon Babbletards enjoy.

You can apply political allegories and subtext in almost any movie, that's why it is so popular in academia. Sometimes it is valid and sometimes it's just mental gymnastics. But to say that movies were not political before is false, there were entire movements of film that were heavily driven by political ideologies.

Generally speaking I am not very interested in film studies that focus on political side of films because politics are so fucking boring.

I think using Game of Thrones as your example of a show not being political is very weird though, it is a show that largely revolves around different political systems and for example how monarchies are a throw of dice when it comes to sensible use of power.

Filtered

Well I can't afford to have kids anyway so what else am I supposed to do?

Imagination is how God(s) creates.

Bastion is a stupid name

I was in love with the chudlike empress and when I saw tami was finally in another movie I watched it and it hurt.

That's progressivism. Spreading the good word.

Everything went to shit when millennials growing on tumblr took creative roles. Everything had to be "relevant", political and have the proper (at least 50% black) representation. You also end up with bullshit like "latino" characters speaking spanish in completely made up universes
I think we'll see a considerable increase in quality once these people start to get removed from those positions, but I'm not sure if people in charge have the balls to fire them

did you also get filtered by this?

The politics shit is still fiction, given that the radical left's perception of the world is pure fantasy.
It's literally just propaganda.

I’ve consumed thousands of fictional stories and none are as entertaining as police bodycam videos.

There are still creative people but you need a certain budget to make films and shows that look professional and the "gatekeepers" will not finance it, especially if it is not based on a previously existing property.

Become a cop pussy.

That's cause just cause something is "creative" doesn't mean it's good. See: Mortal Engines, which was oh-so-original but crashed and burned at the box office.

Failed authors keep coping.

Mortal Engines

creative

dude wot if lame commentary on british imperialism but with giant tanks?! Will strong independant female lead with a stylish scar and her crew of racially diverse sidekicks be able to stop the whitey this time?!
