Can't decide if I like Snow in the Desert or Bad Travelling more.
yes
Bad Travelling
Pop Squad
striking vipers gets memed on a lot but if you really break it down it's a damned good representation of online sexuality
wrong show
Night of the Mini dead is their best
Bad Travelling is pure kino.
I’ve rewatched Zima Blue the most, but Good Hunting is the best by far.
The Witness is fine, Sonnie’s Edge was alright
Ice is good
The Drowned Giant was alright
Jibaro was the second best
Jibaro second best
Opinion discarded. It's a mediocre tech demo.
Kino all around
Pretentious
Yeah, and the entire rest of the show is boring braindead actionwank
new season better not have these guys again. Preachy shit.
Another vote for Bad Travelling. It's the longest but the one I actually want to rewatch every now and then
It will. But no one is forcing you to watch that episode.
Aquila Rift and it's not close.
See what happens when Alastair fucking Reynolds get to write it and the directors just listen to him.
You only like it for the raunchy sex scene.
you make it sound like that's a bad thing
I mean yeah, who doesn't want to fugg a cute alien spidergirl?
I liked that one, she was nice
anyone lost in hyperspace could only hope to be so lucky
Best short?
talking crab
Favorite short?
sentient yoghurt
Swarm was pretty good. Humanity is definitely screwed after that one
The Secret War
all the other shit is justified by bad traveling existing.
Night of the Mini dead is their best
That was pretty cute.
Bad Travelling.
Bad traveling for sure. I also liked the spider monster giving the guy a good simulation one.
Bad Traveling had a cool boat and a spooky crab monster sure, but let's be honest: the protag was a cowardly piece of shit who needed to kill off the crew so he could survive but used the stupid vote to justify it and feel good about himself. He'd have never made it without killing them all off.
Midwit take
everyone on the ship, except the (new) captain, is a coward who'd sacrifice hundreds/thousands to live
this makes the (new) captain a coward for playing them all, even playing the fool, to engineer a situation where everyone on the ship is killed
the protag was a cowardly piece of shit who needed to kill off the crew so he could survive but used the stupid vote to justify it and feel good about himself.
Did you even watch the episode? The protag was the only person on the ship who didn't want to take the crab to the island with more humans.
midwit can't refute it so just calls others midwits
How was he cowardly lol?
Midwits conflate cunning with cowardice
i like how some blogger managed to coin a term that would only ever describe the people who use it
The problem with Swarm is that the body horror feels sterile compared to the story it's based on. Like everything needed a layer of slime on it.
best
There are a lot of good ones, especially in the 1st series, but lets be honest the variety of styles and themes kinda makes choosing "the best" impossible (even though "The Secret War" eerily foreshadowed what's happening in cuckraine)
favorite
But I'd choose "The Tall Grass" because it was the most cozy, perfectly fit its duration, and although a story as old as time, it received treatment like never before
(even though "The Secret War" eerily foreshadowed what's happening in cuckraine)
Ahh sweet, schizoposting.
slavs against slavs
news seeping out about all kinds of occult factions acting as special units, including human sacrifices
the meat cube (from before AI slop...), well documented on Anon Babble and Anon Babble
Russians aren't human tho.
Bad Travelling is clearly the at the forefront as the best short.
Most are shit, but Bad Traveling is the best.
Can't believe we're almost into the fourth season of this, anyone know how many episodes we're getting? Last one didn't have many.
If they are or are not is beside the issue
Is it really just an animated version of Black Mirror?
Fuck crabs :'(
Can't do human sacrifice with them.
That's a gross oversimplification
thinking that sacrificing ukrainians is beneath ukrainians
Good job offending the country you shill for lol
Pop Squad was genuinely disturbing in how nonchalant it was about child murder.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Russia could get invaded by literal hordes of demons from hell, and I'd still rather shill for the demons.
risks his life (potentially dying to the crew AND the crab) to save thousands of innocents
haha what a coward
I wouldn't know, but I've seen it described in more or less those exact words while looking for shows similar to Black Mirror to watch.
What did they do to you anon
Why didn't he just light the oil fire immediately?
Aaaaanooon
Given that they are probably the only anthology series that weren't written by a comittee of overweight post-menopausal women, I can see the logic of the recommendation
The one with the naked women
I'm a Finn.
So? You defeated them in WW2 and they don't have any reason to invade you or the baltics unless the British ans French bait you into attacking them first
That was 80 years ago. And they didn't have any reason to invade Ukraine either, but made one up.
Don't mind me just pirating this turtle.
it's not away from anyone
Man, does anyone have it worse than baby turtles? I hear maybe 1% of a clutch survives to adulthood.
Good joke anon I almost believed you were a human
The Secret War was the only that actually felt like a condensed movie with a beginning, middle and end.
Most short scifi like these aren't meant to have endings. Like Outer Limits, they tend to leave you at "oh shit!" moments of dread or despair
sloppy writing is a virtue
starcraft farmers
shit was fun
Was this also by the Bad Travelling people?

Absolutely shameful
All short stories with some moralistic "message".
Sure boomers, le future is le bad, now die of old age.
Boomers will probably outlive gen z and alpha in the post-internet world
It was awful. Poo in plate armor with some ugly gook having a seizure in a lake?
