Characters whom are literally you

Characters whom are literally you.

God, I wish I had a harem made up of space women with different features and distinctive personalities from each other.

harem

i feel like only ryoko and purple hair liked him
the rest were just there

What if they never leave you alone even when you're trying to take a bath?

what show is this?

Still, the others were attracted to Tenchi in a non-romantic way.

Well, that would be nice in a good way.

I'd like to add that Ryoko was my waifu back then. Damn, I was fucking mad at that bitch.

Ryoko.jpg - 356x540, 35.04K

Tenchi Muyo. It's a story about a boy becoming a man.

Ryoko was my waifu

For me, it's Little Washu

Tenchy muyo

By the way, does anyone know if there is more recent content for this series?

Washu is a good girl too

Nope, it's just a gemmy from a golden era

The peak of the harem genre

even as an autistic kid it was too autistic for me

AIEEE GET ALL THESE HOT BITCHES WHO WANT TO RIDE MY COCK AWAY FROM ME

A while back, I saw a sort of spin-off of the series. A boy is recruited by a space police agency. In it he is trained and while that happens a blonde toyboy girl older than him falls in love with him.

always loved Ryoko's English VA, very distinct somewhat husky voice

look her up

she was in her 50's while voicing her

she's pushing 90 now

one of my biggest childhood crushes was a grandma at the time

one of my biggest childhood crushes will probably die from old age really soon

I don't know how to feel about this

also reminder to everyone, most of the OVA's are on youtube for free

Many voice actors are very old now. Just look at the woman who plays Rogue from the X-Men.
I'm not sure if the industry is creating new talent for voice work, many Hollywood actors now do this shit and it's very well paid.

its more that voice acting these days is a union cabal where the same handful of people get all the work

starring Yuri Lowenthal as young male character!

It used to be a much looser industry where the qualification was "can speak English well and put emotion into it" so you had a ton of people involved in it, most of whom were basically amateurs. Look up the voice cast of any anime pre like 2005 and it's 95% people you have never heard of before. There were outliers like Lisa Ortiz but they were the exception, not the rule.

She's 70 anon, still got time for you to die before she does.

Me on the left

Minus the trans stuff and asthma this guy was pretty much me. I was watching the movie with my friends and it was like they were all learning more about me through this movie.

It's not just one, there's multiple series with the same characters but they're slightly different. It was pretty confusing.

Tenchi Universe is perfect. Ryoko is best girl too.

Tenchi Muyo. It's a story about a boy becoming a man.

Yeah.
The last film of the Universe timeline, Tenchi Forever is all about loving as an adult. Probably my favorite animated film of all time.

holy fuck i completely forgot about mihoshi and the insane amount of fapping i did to her back in the day

Tenchi is divided in different self-contained worlds.
The OVAs, which are still going on, are 6 episodes per OVA. OVA 1 is the most popular and probably the most famous. I think so far there's 6 OVAs with 6 episodes each.
The Universe world, which concluded in 1999, my personal favorite, it includes the tv show Tenchi Universe, the first film Tenchi In Love and the second and final film, Tenchi in Love.
Tenchi in Tokyo which is a spin-off based on the world of Universe, but completely unrelated, it's more cheap and has a lot more "japanese humor", it's okay.

And there's more than that, but that should cover the basics.

My favorite was the universe of tenchi and tenchi in tokyo

I always really loved the biological spaceship designs in this series.

At first, I didn't like it, but I revisited the series recently and loved the concept. I also liked the whole Ayeka planet thing.

Go back to Anon Babble

I'm not afraid to say that as a teenager, I mentally sorted the girls who I had relationships (or who had crushes on me) into traits from what (at the time was obscure) anime/games and the times when I had both a spunky Ryoko-esq tomboy and a sweet and proper Ayeka-esq girl fighting over me, it was a good memory to be Protagonist-kun for a awhile.

Minus the trans stuff

That's.. actually kind of interesting. Given so much implied and stated focus is related to it.

Ayeka and Ryoko are probably the best girls ever, what you did was great.

Yeah, I really like how consistent Universe is. You have your main tv show, the first film which explores the past of Tenchi's family, and finally the second film, which about Tenchi living like an adult man.

Tenchi living like an adult man.

I haven't seen that series. Who does he end up with at the end?By the way, it seems to me that Ryoko's origin changes from the works to the animated series, I'm just remembering it now.I like her being a dangerous space pirate much better.

What's the deal with the creator making Tenchi fuck EVERYTHING?

Typical self-doubt

Okay, let me explain.
You remember how the OVA starts with Tenchi going into the old shrine of his family, finding a mummy version of Ryoko, freeing her, only to later go into space with her, Princess Ayeka, to stop the evil scientist Kagato?

Universe on the other hand has Tenchi returning from school, only to find Ryoko, which recently crashed on Earth and landed near a lake, she's also a space pirate in this version, but she's more mellow. Ayeka also lands on Earth in episode 2, during the course of the tv show. the first 12-13 episodes, the stories are about the main cast having life to life shenanigans. After those episodes the real plot begins. Tenchi is forced to travel to the planet of Ayeka (planet Jurai) to defeat Kagato (emperor of Jurai in this version) and clean the name of the royal family. Tenchi defeats Kagato and returns to Earth.

The first film happens after the tv show, the whole story is about Tenchi going back in time to save his mother from a time travelling alien.
The second film happens after the first film, is about Tenchi disappearing, only to reappear 6 months later, as an adult living in a false life in the city. Ryoko and Ayeka have to save him.
Here's the trailer of the second film

And that's all.
Tenchi is his self-insert, but that only happens in the OVA line, in the Universe only Ryoko wins.

Who does he end up with at the end?

Oh I forgot to add, Tenchi in the Universe continuity, at the end of the second film Tenchi Forever ends with Ryoko.
This is different from the OVA continuity, which ends with Tenchi getting married with all the girls, minus Kiyone because she doesn't exist in the OVAs.

Yes, the Tenchi universe is my favorite. I remember that episode of Parallel Universes where Tenchi and Ryoko are a pair of bank robbers. They act like Bonnie and Clyde. Tenchi is engaged to Ayeka and Ryoko kidnaps him to help him in her criminal enterprise.Little by little Ryoko and Tenchi begin to fall in love.
It was my favorite of the entire series.

Isn't the series kind of a clusterfuck because the creators had a falling out and, like, made their own OVAs?

Yes, the Tenchi universe is my favorite. I remember that episode of Parallel Universes where Tenchi and Ryoko are a pair of bank robbers.

Yeah that's the one.

By the way, does anyone know if there is more recent content for this series?

There's still OVAs coming out but they are mostly the characters sitting around discussing space politics, no action nor comedy. Tenchi is married to all 6 girls and already has kids with some of them but they are mostly in the background.

I would like to see that series where he is married to all the girls

I think he proposed in the 4th season and they are married in the 5th, but as I said, their relationship is out of focus most of the time, the main "plot" of the 5th season is just the characters discussing Tenchi's younger brother and setting up the plot of War on Geminar, a different spinoff that aired over 15 years ago

myanimelist.net/anime/40097/Tenchi_Muyou_Ryououki_5th_Season?q=tenchi&cat=anime

The latest release is a GXP Ova that's on the same vein of just being the characters discussing stuff from an spinoff novel that's even animated
myanimelist.net/anime/54013/Tenchi_Muyou_GXP__Paradise_Shidou-hen

Thank you

that's even animated

*not even animated
