he's blonde and has blue eyes and his neighbor has black eyes and a big nose

Easy to draw

the basis of memes is mimesis which is just recycling memory and nostalgia
lots of millennials and gen z and even gen alpha (thanks to the internet) grew up with spongebob so nostalgia alone gives it power

You're gay lol

Because youre retarded

How high do you even have to be to come up with it?

Lets make a story about an underwater bipedal sponge that lives with a talking starfish

i guarantee im higher iq than you and i love sponge kino. youre just a contrarian faggot

Edgy the reddithog

lol K

because everyone between the ages of 20-40 grew up with this show in some way, so it's easy to reference

How high do you have to be in order to be creative

Why do so many people think this way?

It has a very expressive style which lends itself to memes.
The characters and the writing are also legitimately funny.

Watch the first 2 seasons
Season 3 is very meh, you can tell they're trying to appeal to little kid territory

Spend 20 years studying and teaching marine biology with a passing interest in animation, illustration, comics, and cartoons

Create goofy marine life characters in order to help teach children about the ocean

15 years later, use them as inspiration for a cartoon

>BRUH THIS NIGGA HIGH AS LMAO

many people only know how to be creative with marijuana, especially since it became widely legal

The first 3 seasons and first movie are considered some of the greatest media in television and film

I'm aware but season 3 you can clearly tell they were loosing their stream

Thinking you are creative vs actually being creative are completely different

Season 3 is still excellent, it's S4 where the wheels start coming off (but there's still plenty of gold). S5+ is varying levels of computer-generated trash with some diamonds in the rough.

Stephen Hillenburg worked at an aquarium and his boss asked him to make a comic for kids to learn about sea life. That's where it started

No lol

Because spongebob is the only western anime.

Oh fug

That's why SpongeBob parents look like thatx

I might not like everything past SpongeBob The Movie but it seems like that team still has a high standard for visual humor

Still sucks that he died so young

Nickelodeon whacked him so they could do the Patrick spinoff

those 5 good episodes compared to the 16 meh episodes

no. this is patrick

I'd have to disagree. In fact, I'd say S3 has the most memorable episodes of the show. Some misses, of course, but it also has the best hits. The show pretty much ends with S4, or rather the first film. After that it's pretty apparent that Hindenburg was done, going so far as to say that the movie itself outright was the series' finale.
You'd be missing out on a lot in my opinion if you just outright skip S3, including my favorite episode, The Algae's Always Greener. Other notable episodes include

Club Spongebob

Just One Bite

Idiot Box

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV

Doing Time

Snowball Effect

One Krabs Trash

Can You Spare A Dime?

Squilliam Returns

Krusty Krab Training Video

Chocolate with Nuts

Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy V

New Student Starfish

Mid-Life Crustacean

Born Again Krabs

Missing Identity

Plankton's Army

You're probably the only person who doesn't like season 3 every episode is a A to A+

is this patrick?

Spongebob is Asian.

yellow

can't drive

loves karate

Season 3 is the edgiest of the first three seasons retard. That's the one with Nasty Patty.

8/10 bait

Not him, but I can see where he's coming from. Despite the amazing episodes I listed here, there are definitely a few stinkers that can sour the bunch if you let them

My Pretty Seahorse

The Bully

Rock-a-By Bivalve

The Great Snail Race

Spongebob Meets The Strangler

The Camping Episode

I imagine these are the episodes he's referencing when he talks about the show running out of ideas and becoming more reliant on exaggerated concepts to appeal specifically to younger kids, rather than more everyday and thematically relatable plotlines.

What the fuck are you talking about? Almost every episode in season 3 is a banger.

The Algae's Always Greener

Spongeguard on Duty

Club Spongebob

My Pretty Seahorse

Just One Bite

Nasty Patty

Idiot Box

The Camping Episode

Missing Identity

Spongebob Meets the Strangler

Literally all of these episodes are masterpieces.

You're the only person in the world who doesn't like The Camping Episode.

I dare you to name even a single episode from the first 3 seasons that didn't produce a meme.

Pro tip, you can't

It's both. It has the most references to suicide and depression, but also entire segments of concepts that don't even consist of jokes as much as just slapstick humor with bright colors. It's definitely a season filled with tonal whiplash, but the good news is each "episode" is only 11 minutes, and once you watch it once and find the 44-55 minutes that should be skipped, you'll never have to rewatch it.

Well dressed little boy with a square head (looks more like toast cos sponge is more for women to scrub with) These 2 are comfy suburban subjects

All good even great

The only bad episodes you named are The Bully and The Great Snail Race.

The first three or four minutes are fine. Didn't care for the Sea Bear/Sea Rhino crap and the conclusion in general. A decent (if not generic) premise ruined by exaggerated slapstick. That kinda stuff reminds me of Ghostbusters (2016).

It's really not good

All milliennials, zoomers and alphas have watched it.

The exaggerated slapstick was the point. The fact that they went overboard was itself the joke.

That doesnt explain why it is so memeable though. Every millenial and zoomer watched game of thrones too but there isn't 500 memes that were spawned from it that get posted all over the internet every day. The fact is that Spongebob is just fucking special. Those first 3 seasons were lightning in a bottle

It's like this scene from Billy and Mandy
youtube.com/watch?v=N9KGfgg-d8s

At first it's funny, then they keep doing it and it stops being funny, but then it goes on for so long that its length become a joke itself and it becomes funny again.

You're retarded.

actually, i guarantee im higher iq than you and i love sponge kino. youre just a contrarian faggot

Classic Spongebob is one of those bell curve things where it's only appreciated by mouth drooling retards or actual geniuses while midwits shit on it and call it gay or childish.
Goes for all true kidkino frankly.

because poor black and browns were universally raised on it

Didn't care for the Sea Bear/Sea Rhino crap

If you didn't laugh at "what did I do that time?" "I dunno, maybe he just doesn't like you." "Pretend to be someone else!" you just don't understand humor.

Nah. He's a weeb with liver problems.

kino 3 seasons

kino movie

kino vidya (BFBB)

man, they really should've ended it in 2004.
