The key is to make it a regular movie that happens to contain superheroes.

They fucked themselves out of using most Thor stories because Asgardians and Gods in the MCU have nothing divine or Godly about them. A lot of Thor stories are about what it means to be a God and how Thor deals with his divinity while interacting with humans, Thor choosing humanity despite their flaws over Gods which causes conflicts and about Thor trying to protect humans from ancients evils and evil magic shit that only a God can handle. Not all of them, but a fair amount. Thor's villains are usually powerful as fuck and are sometimes stronger than villains he fights with the Avengers, but because Asgardians and Thor are such jokes in the MCU, I can't really see them adapting any of his villains correctly, not that there are any left besides Mangog, Enchantress, The Utgar Gods, Cul, and Darrio Agger. The only story they could adapt with the current setting is maybe Siege since the Thunderbolts, Sentry and Loki are still around, Fear Itself, or parts of the current Immortal Thor story. Whatever they do, I hope they finally introduce Beta Ray Bill as a secondary protagonist, but something tells me they'll do something stupid and introduce Angela over him in the final movie instead.

Extraction 2 is unironically one of the best action films of the last 5 years (low bar to be fair).
But I can't see that style lending itself well to Thor or capeshit in general. So much of its quality came from its violence and stunt choreography. It won't really have the same impact with cgi hammers and a complete lack of blood and gore.

They were most likely really mad that Hulk was so popular in Avengers, because they could not capitalize on him. That is why every single time he showed up on screen he has been less cool than the last time. That is also most likely why they butchered Planet Hulk, to spite Universal.

Not any of them, but basically just blood and on screen gore and everything is played seriously. No quips about how that just happened, no visual gag of someone being grossed out by being covered in blood. Think something more like God of War, new or old. It'd be easy to adapt any number of the early comics as an opportunistic group of villains who are simply parading as heroes and going the full 9 but then they get roped into actual heroics and begin to like the positive attention they receive and begin to doubt their original mission of being villains who are going to betray the city once they're trusted as the stand-ins for the Avengers. Not OFFICIAL Avengers, but their own team because no one in their right mind would just accept a bunch of unproven randoms as The Avengers and that's not how I would market them anyway. They would remain their own entity, playing up sequel bait that they have to play the long game for a little while longer. Out of necessity, not because they *like* doing the right thing. And Hawkeye could show up like 40 minutes in as the Avenger who has to vet all of them, ends up uncovering their plan immediately and steers them toward heroics that they all excel at because they follow his example as an unpowered, fragile non-meta who is somehow always in the middle of all of these conflicts and contributing in spite of the fact that he can be one-shot out of existence at any given time.

I know a lot of the big actors don't like being saddled with the mcu because the schedule makes it really hard for them to commit to anything because they might need you to show up for some after credits scene or cameo.
