more like a whore-a
Mikey is cute and based
It's the Shakespeare in love of 2024; despite all the awards it's a forgettable movie that was only relevant during the award season but will be lost in the big sea of movies; same thing happened with moonlight
same with all the recent oscar winners. oppenheimer, everything everywhere, coda, nomadland, parasite, etc
Good, it was a nice movie
No, you retard.
Pretty much, yes, the Oscars are now the pleb award for excellence, if fucking Marvel can get nominated for "best visual effects" despite looking like PS3 graphics at best then it's game over
"No U!"
We had to read moonlight in my screenwriting program
I didn't say no u, I just called you a retard.
if fucking Marvel can get nominated for "best visual effects" despite looking like PS3 graphics at best then it's game over
Such as....?
nta but he's obviously talking about black panther
Learn how to write then, it's "no, you're a retard"
Yes, spot on, kek
No, retard means exactly that.
Anora
box office: 60 milly
oscar viewers in 2024: 20 milly
Shakespeare in Love
box office: 289 milly
oscar viewers in 1999: 45 milly
Anora is SiL’s ball washer
Means Anora, kek
No, it doesn't. It means "No, retard". You being the retard.
same thing happened with moonlight
Moonlight is widely considered one of the best films of the past decade. Lots and lots of people who actually care about cinema praise it often. Just because it didn't make a gorollion dollars at the box office and normies don't care about it doesn't mean it was "forgotten"
No, it means Anora is a shit movie
That would have been the case for something generic and boring like The Brutalist, or something basic and crowd pleasing like Conclave. Anora winning was actually a surprise because it wasn't the typical film that wins Best Picture and was the best of the frontrunners by a longshot.
Still not watching your pro slut propaganda piece
Fuck off
Is someone supposed to care?
Nigger
Moonlight is widely considered one of the best films of the past decade
By who? Paid critics and activists perhaps, but that's about it. I care about cinema and I can tell you I don't even remember the name of the main character.
A clockwork orange may not be the most "hidden" movie out there, but it came out in 1971 and people still remember it, it's aesthetically memorable, plot wise is memorable too; moonlight is just about a bulied black guy who comes out as gay, there's nothing so "deep" about it.
Anora winning was actually a surprise
It wasn't, just check the popular liberal narrative regarding social or/and political stuff and you'll predict the winner. A movie about a black man coming out as gay winning an Oscar was unthinkable in the 70s, but what a "coincidence" moonlight won when both the LGBT and black lives matter parades where rampant.
A downbeat black comedy indie film from an extremely niche director about a completely broken stripper is supposed to tie into...what exactly? As opposed to the "epic prestige throwback in a vintage format that's 5 hours long and about a Jewish Holocaust survivor trying to achieve the American Dream"? Is that meant to be not Oscar baiting as fuck now?
Legalize prostitution!
Okay, then let the ugly chud incels lose their virginity to a whore.
For most of history, and it still holds true today, the majority of men who fuck prostitutes are lowlife chud alcoholic niggers. There's nothing special or glamorizing about fucking a suicidal limpdick 21 year old faggot. Usually only the top 1% of hookers get actually respectable clients, and even then they're all degens in bed.
Being a prostitute would suck ass, it always has. This movie is fiction and no, I will not watch your niggerwhore movie.
Who are you talking to?
A downbeat black comedy indie film from an extremely niche director about a completely broken stripper is supposed to tie into...what exactly?
Feminism, onlyfans mentality, "women's liberation". misogyny, objectification, "evil men" narrative, etc, etc. Not to mention Mikey Madison is jewish
By who? Paid critics and activists perhaps
By critics who are far more important than the general audience. 30 years from now Moonlight will be more remembered than La La Land. That's for sure.
When people interested in cinema want to watch old masterpieces they look at what the critics say, not the audiences, which is why something like 400 Blows is in the canon, but not a box office success The Shaggy Dog from the same year.
I doubt Moonlight will be remembered better than La La Land.
30 years from now Moonlight will be more remembered than La La Land
Kek, not at all, it's been a few years and I dare to say La La Land has gotten a better recognition, and while I agree that Citizen Kane is not watched by the mainstream I can also point out other critically acclaimed movies that are not relevant at all, like birdman
There is no "evil men" narrative in Anora. Anywhere. The most sympathetic character in the film is Igor, a man, and the most unsympathetic character in the film is Vanya's mother, a woman. Anora is not idealized, she's presented as a raw and flawed person.
La La Land better
The most sympathetic character in the film is Igor
Who anora treats like shit and even hits at the end despite him being the only one kind to her, kek
Anora is not idealized, she's presented as a raw and flawed person.
She's presented as a victim instead of the movie making her accountable for not thinking
Indeed
Birdman isn't really a critically acclaimed movie. For normal people Interstellar is the movie of 2014, for critics probably Boyhood, maybe Goodbye to Language.
Not to mention Mikey Madison is jewish
And yet....Sean Baker is not. You know, the guy who took home four Oscars at the ceremony.
If all it takes to win Best Picture is "one of the actors in the cast is Jewish" then why did The Brutalist not win? The film that's about a Jew, made by a Jew, starring a Jew, and revolves around Jewish themes? And features a litany of Oscar bait topics like an epic length, a period setting, the Holocaust, disabilities and rapes and anti-semitism, big sweeping themes about the American dream, blah blah? It even panders to the "grand old Hollywood" by using a vintage film format and including an intermission.
Cos if you actually believe the two thousand old dudes voting in the Oscars know what the fuck an "onlyfans mentality" is, let alone have it dictating their vote for Best Editing and Best Director, you're absolutely delusional.
Yes, she is in fact hostile to the guy that bound and gagged her. Well spotted.
Birdman isn't really a critically acclaimed movie
It won 4 Oscars, including best director, and the critics you're talking about made that decision
And yet....Sean Baker is not
Neither is Brady Corbet (director of the brutalist), yet here we are
We're not at a time of jewish holocausts, neither in fact right now because of the whole "free palestine" things being pro jewish is not seen as something beneficial in hollywood, so there ya go.
Which happened because she was being aggressive towards them, once again, where's the accountability?
why is your thinking so incredibly simplistic? you're acting like you're watching a comic book movie with "heroes" and "villains"
Neither is Brady Corbet (director of the brutalist),
He was raised by a single mother, whom he regards as the closest thing he has to "a hero".[3] On his mother's side, he has Irish, Serbian (from Apatin), and "distant" Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry
It won 4 Oscars, including best director, and the critics you're talking about made that decision
Critics aren't the ones who give Oscars.
DA ACCOUNTABILITY!!!!
Yes, where is the accountability...for Vanya, who made it appear to be a perilous situation with parents whom he had implied were gangster (they are not), and ran off making her thinking she and he were in danger as opposed to him throwing a tantrum and going on a bender. After telling Anora that his parents knew and were fine with the marriage.
The entire home invasion sequence is a comedy of errors because literally every single person involved has only an incomplete picture of what is going on and is getting their wires crossed, so it becomes a giant mess.
Anora is gonna be the most talked about film of the decade solely because retards love to complain about it
We're not at a time of jewish holocausts, neither in fact right now because of the whole "free palestine" things being pro jewish is not seen as something beneficial in hollywood, so there ya go.
Then why did you point out Mikey Madison is Jewish?
Anora, her character, isn't Jewish. so does it matter or not? There is hardly a litany of Best Actress winners who are Jewish, so I don't see that as being historically a winner, but there are a lot of winners for films about Jewish subjects, like the Holocaust. In fact Brody's previous win was for a Holocaust period film. The film matters much more than the actor or actress's background.
