I don't tip (I'm from Europe)

I don't tip (I'm from Europe).

(i'm from europe)

was that in the film? i don't remember him saying that

europe tips tho

(I'm from Europe).

asha malakim (i'm trying ti accomodate you because you're a pedo raping sandnigger)

Explain tipping culture to a non-american

being a euro (brit) i must say that this notion that europe doesn't tip is ridiculous. they do tip just like the US.

He's right though. Plenty of shit jobs don't tip, and are way harder than smiling and carrying plates every couple minutes. Why should waitresses get more free money?

(I'm from Europe).

Sunni or shia?

Basically certain businesses don't pay their workers a wage and blame the customer for it so their idiot work force antagonizes innocent bystanders instead of the bosses exploiting them.

some countries do, some countries (most I think) don't, at least not mandatorily

America will be minority white by 2030. My country is 95% white.

This was all accomplished by restaurant owners lobby groups since the 20th century.

The wait staff gets cash that they don't declare on their taxes. The owner gets workers who are basically working for themselves on his property. It's not a bad system for restaurants the problem is everyone who doesn't work for tips, like waiters, expecting to get tips as well.

It's not mandatory in the US either. There is no tipping law or anything. It's the same everywhere.

in a french dub

Yeah, it's only that it's so deeply embedded in the culture by now that you'll get ostracized if you don't do it. There needs to be a law requiring workers to be paid for it to stop.

ostracized

No, never happens. You can just leave and that's it. No one will do or say anything to you.

It’s a hostage situation where the waiting staff will spit in your food if you don’t give them extra money out of your own pocket at the end of a meal

Yeah, right. Maybe if you only eat at McDonalds like your poor trash ass.

it's socially mandatory, it's a matter of expectations. In some countries you are treated like an asshole for not tipping, in others tipping is treated as a generous surprise

No, nothing will actually happen besides the waitress insulting you in her head. You're insane and saying nonsense for reasons I can't figure out.

that would explain the moustaches

This, without a single tip wait staff make more than hundreds of other jobs that nobody gives tips too. It's all just a massive psy IP campaign to make you pay for the pleasure of receiving shitty service

They are fucking paid. This lie they arent is the most successful lie ever cooked up

Asshole

If you’re Brit and you’re tipping like Yanks you’re doing it wrong mate.
We don’t tip in the UK. That’s embarrassing.

There needs to be a law requiring workers to be paid for it to stop.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
If they dont make at least minimum wage with tips they get paid the difference.
The idea is if you have quality staff they will make more in gratuity than minimum wage which incentivises good service.

meal price at a restaurant already includes service, otherwise it would be cheaper
there's no point in tipping

this guy is coked out of his mind, right?

American service wagies don't want tipping culture to be replaced by a steady wage because then they'd make less money

They still get pissed off if you don't tip them

Make it make sense.

What will happen if I visit America, eat at a random restaurant and leave without tipping? (I'm from Europe)

Muslim immigrants aren't white

? I have never met a single person who has tipped in a restaurant and I live in a major city

they voluntarily put themselves into a precarious situation and then they act like poor helpless victims if you don't gift them a ton of money (20%+ of a meal is no joke) for no reason, it's literally a scam

Foreigners and blacks are known for not tipping. You'll be clocked the second you open your mouth and given the table near the kitchen that's in the ugly waitress' section.

You're not European

They won't know that you didn't tip until after you've left. Even if you become a regular known non-tipper, it's not likely that anything would happen. They will just hate you.

name one country in europe with tipping culture

Why tip when you can buy crypto with that money?

But is it really a precarious situation? Waiters make far more than other restaurant wagies because of tips. I dated a cunt who made like $1000 in 10 hours of work on Friday and Saturday nights. So why the fuck are they always complaining?

Germany iirc
it is in the sense that if people stopped tipping they would earn jack shit, and their complaining is part of the grift

We tip but not just like the US. Usually I tip about 10% just as a gesture.
If you don't tip people might think you're stingy but it's not a big deal like in the US.

and their complaining is part of the grift

Yeah I guess that makes sense. I guess I will just enjoy my cheaper meals and let the rubes continue to pick up the slack.

You round up to the closest 0 in most cases so you would tip like a maximum of ~9$ on a meal and if it’s just like a 50-60$ meal you probably won’t even round up when paying with a card so in most cases we don’t tip or tip extremely little.

But all servers get paid pretty well so nobody gives a shit here.

One time in Germany I gave a 2e coin to the delivery wagie because I didn't think I needed to tip at all, and he looked at me like I just spit in his face.

Last time I went to Europe they all had this gay thing where there was a “gratuity” automatically applied to the bill. Y’all larpin’

I’ve lived there 10 months and never had a situation that made me think I had to tip
Only time I’ve had some bitch ask for a tip was in a tourist trap in Prague

that's only for americans, not for locals

Dying nation, opinion discarded.

I don’t believe you

ti accomodate you

kek, only an european would know this...

Boo fucking hoo then
Post this shitty thread on int or something

"Europe" is not a country, mutt.

did you compare a menu card in english and in a local language?

I never tipped any delivery guy anything and never got any looks whatsoever.

It's a Reservoir Dogs thread

France, England, Belgium, Holland, all had “tips” built into the bill. The rest of Europe is irrelevant and will be speaking Russian any day now. Any. Day. Now.

Perhaps that was actually a look of gratitude in his native brown culture.

Most americans aren’t american anymore so tipping isn’t seen as a mandatory thing anymore and as the us becomes less and less white this weird tipping phenomenon will disappear.

all had “tips” built into the bill

They do not.

You literally all use the same currency and have free travel

They might be mad and argue with you but honestly you should just go to taco bell or something whenever you visit the us because most restaurants fucking suck and are way too expensive for what you get served.

t. has visited the us several times

this retard thinks that VAT is a tip

LMAO

idk I just have a friend who worked there for some time and he told me that I should tip around 10% in restaurants, I guess that it's considered common courtesy but if someone don't tip they aren't assholes about it

germany

No you don’t tip here.

In America you can't even be born without giving the jewish doctor the tip.

Every single nation in Europe is dying right now and it's all for exactly the same reasons. getting bogged down in atttempting to insult each other when we're all in the same dire situation is retarded.

How do they know I won't tip?

I welcome the death of the uk, canada and australia. Three worthless jew worshipping nations who love foreigners more than their own people.
I will celebrate the collapse of your nation.

Still a shitty boring unfunny spam thread

restaurant where i order at the counter

machine asks me how much i want to tip

depends on what your job is, I worked as a tour guide in a natural history museum in college and we were given strict instructions not to accept tips and instead redirect them to the museum donation fund jar. It sucked because a lot of Americans would routinely try and give me like 5 to 10 euros per tour so I was missing out on a lot of money, but the pay was still very decent for what I was doing at the time so I never felt too bad about it.

they do tip just like the US.

No, because the de facto obligatory service tip isn't a thing in most of Europe. They only tip if the service was notably good or if the person serving them managed to get on friendly terms with them. Also no guilt from waiters making most of their living on tips since they have a near-livable wage mostly.

They don’t. All real restaurants give you the check after you’ve eaten and if you’re a tourist you’ll never return to that restaurant anyway so it doesn’t matter but americans are very mentally unstable so you might get yelled at if you don’t tip

buying a travel guide

Jesus you golems are naturally born cucksoomers aren’t you?
Don’t you have google? Can’t make up your own opinion on what to see while visiting another country?
Retard.

Don’t you have google?

I literally linked one of the top results from a google search, not a paid travel guide or whatever the voices in your head told you it was.

irl friend who has lived in Germany tells me I should tip

Google tells me I should tip

random anon tells me that you don't tip in Germany

mmh, who should I believe?

Literally the only time I've ever tipped was at the barber, and it's when I just don't feel like getting a return of 1-2€ and say "oh it's fine like that" when I hand him the money

>Google tells me I should tip

No, google tells you "It's a voluntary act". That's literally what the link you posted says. Where the fuck did you get "customary"?

Have you tried to stop listening to jews for one (1) second in your entire life?

In London they try to force you to tip and get annoyed sometimes if you ask them to remove it. I still always make them remove it, then complain in writing if they get arsey. Never tipping. Never allowing this practice to spread in our country.

crude and wordy
actually funny

But we do tip in Europe. It's just not mandatory.

Where the fuck did you get "customary"?

in the goddamn berlin.de article I linked
the point is that Germans do tip all the time, just because nobody spits in your food if you don't it doesn't meant that it isn't kinda expected

define "we"

I have lived in Austria, Croatia and France in my life. All 3 countries tip, but nobody will ask you to do it and nobody will get pissy if you don't do it. The "waiter offers you the bill and passively-aggressively leaves an empty line where you're supposed to write down how much you're going to tip" shit does not exist here.

I know you are used to thinking in Option A or Option B with nothing in between but just because people leave 3 cents in tips when they get dinner at a restaurant it isn’t comparable to jewmericans leaving 20% tips.

I know your brain consists of 56% corn syrup but come on man THINK.

here in Italy they are happy enough if you pay the full bill without asking for a discount

we don't tip

ok maybe we do tip but sometimes (0.01% of the times) it's just 3 cents!

glad that you finally admitted to being a liar
