And yet he was also quite honest and hardworking in general. When he's paid to put up election fliers, he's paid in advance but unlike the others doesn't bunk off early, he sees it through because that's the job he was paid for. He makes money by buying cheap in bulk from a store and selling directly to kids at school, but that's not illegal or even immoral, it's just smart business sense.

He never "snitched" for candy either, he did it because he was in major trouble being accused of aiding other students in a rape, it was basically a desperation move. If anything, he's most similar to Bodie by the end, rough and abrasive on the outside because he has to be, but has a lot more smarts and hopes buried deep underneath.

Omar was one of the worst parts of the show. He had no character development, he acted independent of the main story for the majority of the show, and the situations that he'd get in to and come out of were straight up cartoon shit. He was well liked by everyone except the antagonists and always got his way. The definition of Gary Stu and I'm glad that is dead was without any build up.
