What did we think of it

what did we think of it

I haven't seen it but if it portrays the Catholic Church in any way other than a Satanic Cult dooming all of its member to hell then it's a shit movie.

i spent the whole time waiting for the film to viciously subvert the catholic church

and then it did

Jewish propaganda

It is shit

literal propaganda film promoting the church

I'M BEING SUBVERTED

Fuck off

it was very jewish

every cardinal is a terrible person

only good guy has lost is faith

some freak believes we need to embrace islam in our land

wins

this is nazi-tier propaganda

kino sets

kino cinematography

kino actors

leftist tranny bullshit script

grim

Fine until like the last 20 minutes or so and it jumps the shark to comical degrees. After Finnes got hit with a piece of debris onward it became laughable. The final twist was ridiculous but also expected because at that point you knew something stupid was going to happen. I thought it was going to be a who murdered the pope mystery and was really let down.

So bad even the cast can't carry it.

What was this even about? It was in my local theater for a month and a half or so. It was a long time for a movie about Catholics to be in theaters

it’s about this:

Italians are evil

i could sniff the judaism from a mile away with this shit. same guy that made the new All quiet on the western front. some godless jewish kraut. for me, the worst part was making the one cardinal that wasnt a pedophile, womanizer, alcoholic, or islamophile, or tranny, be the bad guy because he was like

le rules are de rules

we cant back down from what we believe, regardless of what the PR image is

no gays.

apparently this is superhitler and you must band together all the other rapists, pedophiles, alcoholics to defeat him.

Im tired of talmudic propaganda berating my faith, my culture, and my haplogroups.

I liked it except for the guy who became pope being some kind of Mayan mystic and the completely irrelevant twist at the end.
Was the dead pope the one who orchestrated it all do you think? If you assume Trembley was telling the trust that he was instructed to bring the African nun to the Vatican that would knock out the two biggest contenders. Although of course relying on the Italian candidate to go a bit too deus vult after a terrorist attack so that your personal femboy can deliver an uplifting speech is stretching it a bit.
Great atmosphere up until the end.

we need to embrace islam in our land

If a far right dude made this as a parody of leftism it'd be seen as too on the nose

Blatant propaganda

I like the vatican inside baseball backdrop and felt it maintained the atmosphere well for the first hour and a half or so, but the final act is so lame it makes the whole movie feel pointless.

boring

The implication that the conclave being rigged histoircally speaking is a big deal or scandalous is funny.

based

One of the top tags on IMDB is "LGBT" so i refuse to watch it.

It was bad mainly because the ending was ass

like 90% of the current Cardinals were picked by Pope Francis

Make speech about hoping for a pope that sins

Elect the person portrayed as otherworldly and shows no flaws throughout the movie

I don't get it

NOOOOO! YOU CAN'T SAY MEAN THINGS ABOUT MUSLIMS JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE BOMBING US!

YOU CAN'T DEFEND YOUR CULTURE AND IDENTITY AGAINST HOSTILE FOREIGNERS! THAT'S RACIST!

You can tell a britcuck wrote this movie.

The only thing I liked was the realistic portrayal of an African cardinal being a hardline traditionalist, just like irl.

I kind of hope all the liberal cardinals appointed by Francis pick a black pope for virtue signaling purposes and in his first homily he says something like "We need to kill all the geys."

Agreed. Everyone in this filth is dead to me. Many such cases.

Also the live Anon Babble reaction will be glorious

It would have been a great movie if it wasn't for the final plot twist with the cardinal being a troon. That just seemed excessive and tactless.

There there, we're all sinners at the end of the day, and it's up to us to do better

But LET ME CLEAR, YOU WILL *NEVER* BE POPE

Ralph Fiennes said calmly

hermaphrodites existed way before america invented trannies

The last "twist" was genuinely bizarre. The guy wasn't even a troon, he was one of the .01% of people with a genuine genetic disorder.
Even then, the response is "whatever, that's fine" and absolutely nothing comes of it.
I feel like the writers were trying to make some statement about the Church being a boys' club but even that aspect of the movie felt half-baked.

The "defeating Islamophobia with facts and logic, then everyone clapped" ending was far more offensive than bland gender role commentary.

does it deal with the pedophile shit?
how about the gay shit?
how about the gay pedophile shit?
oh wait, they elect a gay pedophile mulatto troon pope at the end. right. at least the film is honest.
there's no Grace in that "church".
it's an NGO.
they should pack it up and convert to Orthodoxy to save face.

So terrible it killed the pope

This poke reeks of the foul stench of Christianity or even worse Protestant

It's looking like it might be Pizzaballa. Not as conservative as some might like but he takes the faith dead-seriously and seems pretty far-removed from Western politicking.
Sarah is great but he's very old and honestly he's been completely mythologized as a "based black guy" character, being openly anti-Islam is cool but people are insane if they think he'd call for a fag holocaust or name the Jew or whatever else
The reality is that Church politics extend beyond American partisan shitflinging, and most Cardinals should be given the benefit of the doubt considering they've devoted their entire lives to a calling that offers very little worldly pleasure. Division within the Church has been the hot topic lately, and even most of the "liberals" will have it in their hearts to seek reconciliation with more traditional branches who feel like they were waved aside by Francis's papacy.
t. gadolic

The last "twist" was genuinely bizarre.

The author of the novel already went on record saying he did it just for shock value. In a way it's like him admitting that everybody choosing the most virtuous, dark horse, peace-loving guy was extremely corny, and that he needed something to distract people from his already shitty ending.

Interesting set up that comes apart when it asks the audience to believe the mysterious magical plot divice cardinal goes "can't we all just coexist™" and gets elected pope what are presumably some of the most charismatic, intelligent and ambitious polititicians on earth

Pizzaballa would probably tell the Israeli government to fuck off because he hates them. He's learned to hate them over the last two years.

And everyone clapped

It's not going to be a black man, you're crazy and you think it's going to happen.

Conclave 1

When is Conclave 2 coming out?

Supposedly there's a push for it to be another Italian, which makes me think it might actually be Pizzaballa because he IS Italian, he's just been in Jerusalem for about a decade.
