I just watched the first episode, her uncomeliness didn't bother me as I didn't play the gaems, and the post apocalyptic world is ugly in general, so she fits. Also, I think she is a talented young woman, who isn't proverbially ugly, she just doesn't dress/groom well, but she's a dyke or something, so that figures.
Look, this isn't about her specifically. I wish her no ill will. But in my entertainment, I want to visit worlds that are elevated from normal life, with better looking people. I wouldn't want to see ME either, in shows and films. I'm goofy looking and probably would be more of an eyesore. It's about holding some standards for enjoying my escapism and relief from the mundane world. Whether it's her or just more "representation" it just makes media less appealing, and that negates its primary purpose.
