The Black Phone edition
/hor/- horror general
Watching Alien 1979 as soon as I get home from wageslave. Might binge other horror shit after that.
Reminder not to reply to the brown samefag.
This was a nice film. Can’t wait for the second one. The acting from the kids was really good, especially since for most of them that was their first major role.
she needs to do some vampire kino
Hell yeah!
This post is unexpectedly mint
what i meant was that when you watch it, it looks like how you would imagine a movie to be. a lot of movies now just look very odd
i don't know much about cinematography and the terminology but it really looks like there was some sort of a shift to using computers more than cameras somehow so maybe that's why a lot of movies now look too digitized to look the way how movies used to
Movies look odd today because the main cast is so diverse and there are uggos everywhere plus africans
Wait violet mcgraw has an older sister?
You didn’t know? Maddie is one of the better zoomer actresses.
Amanda Fix is.
I didn't LOVE Black Phone, but I did enjoy the grabber. If rumors are true about the sequel, it sounds fun
yum
I just watched Ready or Not for this first time. Really satisfying ending! Samara is so hot.
I still have no clue how a sequel to The Black Phone would even work without retconing the ending or massive amounts of retarded bullshit since he's dead.
Not replying to the idiot, but the reason a lot of 90s movies look more cinegraphic isn't just digital changing the raw product and post, it's because a lot of 90s movies used the language of major studio films from the 30s-50s
It happens even in 90s music videos
youtube.com
youtube.com
It's also why you have a lot of doo wop etc in 90s soundtracks the idiot is ignoring
The source material creator Joe Hill pitched the idea of a sequel himself so I trust he knows what he’s doing. Also its a supernatural horror film, anything can happen. They are bringing back the dead Mexican kid as well but I don’t know what for.
From what I've read:
He basically haunts their dreams like Freddy Krueger
Then it's just a fucking trauma-horror movie, which I hate.
MILLIONS

A man to fix what?

are there any movies made since ~2010 which are unanimously praised as modern classics?
I liked the beginning more when it was just showing the lives of the kids. From the moment the boy is kidnapped the film gets worse
Get Out
Yea it could have used a bit more slice of life
Watched the Area 51 2015 found footage film that anon recommended. Great concept, HORRIBLE execution. Any other films like this?
t. uggo mutt
horror movie with a 100 million dollar budget shot on imax cameras
kind of based
No way it makes a profit. Horror movies mostly should stick to the <10m budget.
probably why they're hiding it
wypipo be vampires n shiet
all these recent A24 bombs and flops
meanwhile Artkino literally is the most profitable movie of 2024
Why can't Hollywood just produce more gory schlock on a 2m budget or something, it literally has been proven to sell
What should I watch tonight?
They Look Like People
Carrion Death
watch something working class poor people watch.
mainstream slop like the Unicorn movie.
Unicorn movie is not out on vod yet
Corpse Grinders anon, that was excellent fun. 10/10 kitties
Idle Hands
There's always Dr Phibes
great concept horrible execution?
lights out
The black phone was maybe the most generic and uninteresting “horror” movie I’ve ever seen. So mediocre and cliche
white people bad
So sick of prople pretending this slop is anything special or profound
I'm glad you liked it anon. There's a sequel by the same director released in 2000 with an even lower budget, and with alien cats. Haven't seen it yet.
released in 2000 with an even lower budget, and with alien cats.
Kek, might have to track that down, I doubt he could afford CGI with less money but I'm willing to be proven wrong with clipart
Ethan Hawke
Cinderella's Curse
low budget af but decently entertaining if you skip to the ball where shit actually happens
It's basically Cinderella + Carrie + Wishmaster + Hellraiser in one. Obvious trash but at least they tried
Cinderella uses the notNecronomicon to summon her fairy godmother but it's actually some highly deformed witch with her 3 cenobite army giving her 3 wishes, Cinderella still gets bullied in the ball by her stepsisters and even the prince, and decides to kill everyone via the cenobite allies + Carrie like telekinetic powers from the Witch godmother
Only really bad part is Cinderella is quite tough on the eyes and definitely 30+ or bogged to hell and back
They also have two siblings and they're actors too
Nepo status?
