I unironically like those "fixed" examples. The human nose is such a defining characteristic of what someone's face looks like and I think too many artists just avoid drawing it at all, especially in anime.

They look "Normal", that is to say "without extra features", as every race/ethnicity/nationality historically sees itself as the baseline and other groups as having something extraneous that must be added to artistic portrayals. White people in anime for instance are often given absurdly large noses or large sagging eyes, because to the Japanese it's white people who have "extra features" on top of the fearlessness of a "normal" person.

Cartooning and caricature tends to emphasize and exaggerate the same features the world over. Give anyone big eyes, and expressive mouth, and distinctive hair and all cartoons will look alike.

They're heightened reality images created to be aesthetically pleasing, usually either cute or cool looking.
