The Simpsons is now done on an assembly line type of way. all the episodes are written, then constructed at nearly the same time in their respective part of the process. they don't do staging anymore, because episodes aren't really thought of individually. if there's a simpson family shot, they are probably making every simpson family shot in the season at once. and just moving them around a bit. this sucks, obviously, but something that bothers me more is how every character thats not main cast has to have 'realistic' features. they all have details, so the main cast now looks like aliens comparatively. there's no style to any of this at this point.
