Egger-oner
noun

A long, uninterrupted single take in filmmaking, invented by director Robert Eggers. The technique is characterized by complex blocking, subtle lighting, and a focus on building tension, often used to immerse the viewer in the narrative.

Part of Eggers' broader cinematic language, called "videogame cinematography," which integrates immersive, video game-inspired techniques to enhance the psychological and atmospheric experience of the film.

Etymology: Named after Robert Eggers, the filmmaker who popularized the technique.

Honest filmmaking

How do you know what he thought?

what is the middle pic???

It took decades to develop viable color film, even more decades to perfect color processing, and now everything is crushed blacks and near monochromatic color pallets because modern filmmakers can't be assed to set up proper lighting on set and want everything to look "real."

He's right. "Diverse color palette" isn't instant quality. There are other factors at play.
