Which is the least awful post T2 sequel?

3 and 4 are serviceable. series is completely unwatchable after that

Agreed Rise of the Machines and Salvation are okay. Genisys and Dark Fate are complete shit.

The TV show

Cromartie.jpg - 640x480, 155.34K

I like the show but I feel weird for getting a boner for the female terminator.

Three. It's watchable as a standalone film and tries very hard not to step directly on the canon, but still expand on what's known.

this

T2 > T3 > T1 > TTSCC > T4 > T5/T6 (last ones you can forget)

The bad guy being able to formulate guns with her hands is silly and way too overpowered, but the film makes up for it with both the inflatable titties and the bait and switch ending.

T3 better than T1

Dark Fate literally pulls a "hold my beer" on Genisys being the worst

Does the Universal Studios ride count?

youtube.com/watch?v=pT2zzvw9Wsw
and it knocking them aside instead of ripping them apart on first contact. lmao.

I hate 3 but have to admit it makes sense in the lore at least or maybe because it does, turning series into a depressing closed loop

Chirstian Bale's rant from Salvation.

That movie sucks, the only positive are the machines (well maybe not the bike terminators lol)

plebbit opinion indeed

This.
3 feels like a downgraded version of 2.
4 feels like it should be in a whole different franchise but it's still a good popcorn flick if you can accept it as its own thing.
Everything else is messily written slop.
TSCC is kino.

Which is the least awful post T2 sequel?

3. It's shit and I don't consider it, just like anything after T2, but it's passable as a TV movie.
4 has better production value, but it's too retarded and nonsensical. Also the ending is awful

T2 > T3 > T1 >

Either mental illness or trolling

In what world Dark Feces isn't orders of magnitude worse than Gaysys?

This was $60

What the fucking crack were devs smoking back then?

The bad guy being able to formulate guns with her hands is silly and way too overpowered

More than the liquid metalman?

liquid metalman is the concept of robot taken to its extreme, and something you can imagine beign designed by some inhuman, ultrapowerful "evil" AI.
The TX made sense but giving it a sci fi cannon wasn't a good move movie-wise because it's just pros and no cons. That's why she underuse it and it gets destroyed with some retarded move
the machines in 4 and onward literally don't make any sense

I want the Terminator reboot but with these guys as friendly before the chaos

T3 is underrated kino

Unironically Dark Fate, and it still fucking sucks.

It’s a trilogy and designed to be one. The only correct order is:
T1 > T3 > T2

salvation is comfy just because it's 2009 and has post tdk bale and bryce saladass howard, it's also just a fun summer blockbuster if a bit too grey and dusty. i think mcg was trying to make a good movie that didn't rely on the predecessors, something that every other movie after 2 did.

Terminator Resistance is the best sequel and best depiction of the future war

T2 > T3 > T1

absolute bait troll for (You)'s but hey you won at eod.

T-1 = 10/10. Classic. Certified Kino.
T-2 = 9.5/10. Excellent movie.
T-3 = 8/10. Good movie.
T-4 = 8.5/10. Very good movie.
T-5 = 4/10. Low quality slop.
T-6 = 2/10. Awfull garbage.

Salvation was alright, but I thought T3 wasn't THAT bad.

look at me, im the leader now

T3 was garbage. The only redeeming quality was how general's arc showed skynet start.

fpbp

T-3 = 8/10. Good movie.

T-4 = 8.5/10. Very good movie.

this must be bait

T1>T2>T3>Tsalvation>>>>>>>dogshit>>>>>>everything else

Not really, I actually quite like T-3 and T-4.

Yea that was fucked up.

Salvation first 30 minutes or so are pretty damn decent

Dark Fate is the only good sequel post T2.

T3 is a sanitized remake of T2. Salvation feels like an entirely different franchise. Genesis is a poor attempt at making it a Marvel style blockbuster movie.

Dark Fate is the only movie that totally matches the first two.

The only thing is Dark Fate is dogshit.

3 is good. Obviously not as good as 2 but 3 is a fun watch. After that they get increasingly dumb. Salvation is interesting but it ultimately failed in providing what people wanted which was a war movie set in the future agaisnt the machines, it was more like a escape film if anything. After that they just dumber and dumber.

Salvation was great for all the non-humanoid terminators it introduced. I guess people were just upset because they expected some kind of raygun gothic future instead of brown and gritty tacticool.

I prefer the pinata one

3 is a "silly" version of T2. Which is fun if you're in the mood for it, and the performances are actually pretty solid insofar as all the actors are clearly trying, but there is a better movie idea hiding within T3 that I'm amazed they haven't tried given that it fits the T1 premise so perfectly. Which is the idea of a serial killer murdering random people that the police cannot figure out a connection or pattern to, because the pattern is they are all important to the resistance in the future.
T4 is a solid movie because it at least respects the first two films and is trying to match them in terms of tone and craft. It just doesn't quite capture it.
The TV show is really solid if your favourite film in the series is T2 and it had a lot of potential that unfortunately we'll never see.
Genisys makes the same mistake every modern nostalgia sequel makes these days, where instead of telling an actually good story it rehashes the previous film and saves all the really cool shit for a trilogy that inevitably gets cancelled. I remember walking out of the theatre thinking "that was okay, but I'm interested to see Arnie play a T-1000 in the next one" only for it to not happen. It also would have been better if it had just stayed what it was in the opening, T2 set during T1.
Dark Fate is the most interesting in terms of trying to get away from the John Connor story, but it fucks it up by first killing John in the prologue, which the film never becomes good enough to justify, secondly pissing away potential by trying to get us to take a tiny Latina seriously has a future war hero, and thirdly replacing Skynet with "Legion" (a biblical reference so unoriginal it should be illegal). That being said Gabriel Luna is the most intimidating Terminator since Robert Patrick and actually comes across as menacing, and Mackenzie Davis does a good job of playing the constantly on edge saviour like Michael Biehn.
She also has a great ass.

Which is the least awful post T2 sequel?

T3,

everything else is jank slop. I was pissed off at salvation when I saw it in the theater because I thought it would be a direct sequel to t3, with the same actors. that movie would have been much better. salvation is a piece of shit with a few cool scenes and special effects sprinkled in.

They did such a good job with Sarah and John yet, somehow that looks at best like an Arnie impersonator that relies on the sunglasses to do the heavy lifting.

Genisys is a guilty pleasure for me just because Emilia Clarke speaks with American accent.

Terminator Resistance, though in a way it's a prequel.

T2
T1

Dark Fate

Which is the idea of a serial killer murdering random people that the police cannot figure out a connection or pattern to, because the pattern is they are all important to the resistance in the future.

Actually not a bad idea for a new film.

focus on a detective duo

investigating murders etc etc

end up having to defend John Connor's future wife or some shit

Ngl, I do actually dig the idea of Genisys being and altered timeline where a Terminator was sent to protect and train young Sarah Connor so by the time Kyle arrives she's already a pro. Even if the movie felt very TFA during that. But come travelling to 2017, John Connor 'twist' and it all fell apart.

>focus on a detective duo

>investigating murders etc etc

>end up having to defend John Connor's future wife or some shit

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Basically, what if Terminator, but instead of going with Sarah and Kyle, it was with these two guys.
Also the dialogue for these two is literally the best character dialogue James Cameron has every written.

But come travelling to 2017, John Connor 'twist' and it all fell apart.

Exactly. I'm not the first person to point this out, but the really stupid thing is, why travel into the future and give yourself LESS time to stop Skynet by doing so?

Then say "I liked it", not "it's good"

Move steaming dogshit up a tier

Yeah, in the same way that rolling in shit with your mouth open matches eating cake and having sex

Talk dumb.jpg - 610x599, 393.69K

Also John's becoming leader of the resistance relies on him being born in 1985 so that he's old enough to become an adult in time before Skynet wipes humanity out. Sending Kyle and Sarah into the future means that they have effectively removed John from the future timeline, thus doing Skynet's job for it. I might actually be the first person to point THAT out.

So just the bikes?

I guess people were just upset because they expected some kind of raygun gothic future instead

yeah how idssennate to expect visual consistence

Salvation is kino but that anon the other day was right about how helena bonham carter being skynet was strange

T4 is not solid and doesn't respect anything
And Dark Feces is just mongoloid on any level.
Lmao the t pool cleaner being intimidating: it's the fucking villaing from movie 2 over the villain from movie 1. Things must make sense, and even if it was all about cool, it wasn't cool

Genisys was what T4 should have been instead of Salvation. Nanomachines are the logical next step for Skynet.
Salvation was a Mad Max movie with Terminators added in to hold onto the rights for longer
Dark Fate poorly executes its idea that the war between humanity and Skynet is a universal constant

And T3 down a tier.
Series ended with T2

So just the bikes?

There were the snakes and the harvesters and the jets. It felt like they had all the niches covered for combined arms warfare.

yeah how idssennate to expect visual consistence

Well the assumption was that brown and grey could be one interpretation, and you could have another movie set in the future with a bit more chrome and lasers, but I guess that's not happening any time soon.

i want to see terminator back in viking age
no guns or explosives, just melee and arrows

shrek help me.jpg - 1360x768, 181.93K

Showing skynet at all (on topo of making it somewhat human-like) is a mistake so basic and massive that I don't know how it still get made.

Resistance, the game. Really fun. Also RoboCop Rogue City and of course Alien Isolation. Kino.

HK Jets existed since T1
Harvesters were... quite generic, and I hated that giant gundam they had on top that didn't even make noise when walking if it needed to
Snakes were somewhat generic and I can't for the life of me imagine what would their purpose be. Why wouls skynet design le scary hissing snake instead of some practical mine?
That snake belonged to a transformer movie.
Overall I didn't like that all those skynet stuff never looked like somthing that would actually cause the downfall of humanity

Alien Isolation

meme game

I guess nobody watched this? "Netflix" and "anime" a death sentence?

I rather liked it, possibly because it clearly lifted a lot from TSCC
Something the franchise has somehow gotten wrong since T2 is making the antagonist Terminator evil. Robert Patrick was great to watch but when you think about it, him acting like the creepy step-dad in a Lifetime movie actually makes no sense, and almost every Terminator actor after mimicked his performance. Only Arnold in T1, Cromartie in TSCC and Timothy Olyphant here really nailed that idea that the Terminator does not feel anger, does not feel hate, does not feel sadism. It's incredibly deadly and frightening but it's ontologically incapable of being "evil" the way a person is, like you can't rightly call a cruise missile evil for blowing up an orphanage.

It was also a nice touch that he was a regular ass T800 with no liquid nanomachine gimmicks and he was more threatening than ever simply because there's no fucking guns in Japan
Even the bit where his weapon of choice is a comically tiny crossbow worked because he never tried to be cool or flashy with it, he used it with the frightening detached clinical efficiency of Chigurgh with his cattle prod

the reveal that the waifu nanny chick was also a robot only to have her immediately get fucking bodied by him anyway was lame and anticlimactic, all I could picture was that robot that yells "Why was I programmed to feel pain?!"

Is it one of those shitty ones like Gamera Rebirth were all the characters are low framerate 3d models trying to imitate traditional animation?

salvation would have been great without sam worthington's cyborg character

It also had Stan Winston, for the last time. lots of awesome practicals

I'm not contrarian enough to condemn T2 overall but the bit where the T1000 stabs the dog because he's mad the dog ruined his phone call trick might have been the first time James Cameron was a hack, something that eventually overtook him
How could he not understand a movie he wrote and a character he created?

Go ahead and clam up, pup. The big dogs are talking now.

T1 = T2 > Salvation > T3 > dog shit > Genisys > Dark Fate

Ah, nice. I thought it was going to be a terminator with feelings or a man-terminator hybrid. I might check it out. How is the music, synths? And it's not trying too hard to be cool?

Showing skynet at all (on topo of making it somewhat human-like) is a mistake so basic and massive that I don't know how it still get made.

This. I hated the anime because of this.

Skynet is a "simple" military AI. It's purpose is to kill its enemies, and it decided that humanity was it's enemy. It's not the kind of AI that can be reasoned with or be bargained with.

They should never try to make it into the modern concept of a smart AI where is assumes a human voice and avatar and is willing and capable of debating philosophy with humans.

Why? You may think shapeshifting liquid metal robot pussy is good, but it really isn't, it'll just drip and get stuck inside your urethra and it'll feel like passing a kidney stone. Instead you should go with a T900 model which is living tissue over hyperalloy combat chassis. The Terminator synthetic living tissue is both fast regenerative, perfectly mimics human physiology and is made of organic matter. But its established the blood isn't real blood, no red blood cells, so they cut corners when it's not feasible or necessary. So the terminator vagina has to look like the real thing, have fake fluids to simulate real ones, and even grow back if it is destroyed.

That's kinda crazy when you think about it, that mean between the interior labia are things like the hymen, a fake urinal tract, and even a fake nub of flesh called the clitoris. But no smegma? And she doesn't have a period either. Meaning it's always clean, but looks exactly like the way a real tight little pussy should, with little goosebumps on the exterior labia and it is even contracted by the cybernetic muscle mechanisms. And if the clitoris is rubbed the cyborg must be aware and has sensors to enable a simulated response. There is even a butthole right behind the vagina, a butthole that leads absolutely nowhere.

That's crazy bros. It's like living tissue but it's on a hyper alloy chassis. And there's a vagina right between her legs. She has synthetic vagina with synthetic labia and synthetic hymen and synthetic clitoris and synthetic urinal tract AND a synthetic butthole. It's weird because there is a metal endoskeleton hyperalloy combat chassis inside, and you can even see it if you open the vagina. And if you accidentally rip it open, that's okay, it regenerates from all the pancakes she consumes. Fucking unreal.

1530654096979.png - 1232x1560, 525.04K

The show gets quite weeby at points but the Terminator himself never does, like Japan is self deprecating as if he just strolled in from a Western action cartoon and went "What is this gay shit?"

It might be too much of a spoiler but it's also a selling point that this bitch effortlessly, gruesomely defeats three gunmen while doing super-powered slow motion ballerina Sailor Moon shit, then when she finally gets into a melee with the Terminator, she makes a flashy swan dive entrance and gets in one good opening punch that snaps his head back and tears his cheek and then he just palms her fucking face like a basketball and it's all "Oh n-" from there

You might have overlooked something in the anime because it does both things, Skynet is as mysterious and inhuman as you're clamoring for here but the Japanese AI built to fight it is basically Siri/Alexa and there might be drama to mine from the idea that she doesn't want to exterminate humanity but is willing to enslave us to "protect" us

the war between humanity and Skynet is a universal constant

that's the fucking antithesis of the first two movies. the war between humanity and skynet exists in a microcosm of the john connor time loop, it is NOT fucking universal

They wouldn't be friendly they would just be like Bender.

He stabbed the dog because he wanted to shut it up and to grab its collar (which he rips off), so it could check its name.
Also, the T-1000 is shown to develop its own motivation and perhaps emotions throughout the movie, considering it didn't have a read-only mode.

because he's mad the dog ruined his phone call trick might have been the first time James Cameron was a hack,

I mean, there was Aliens. It's a superb movie but you can't say there's 0% hack in that film.
