Greatest guitarist that ever lived

greatest guitarist that ever lived

still no biopic in twenty twenty five

yngwie.jpg - 474x266, 30.76K

romeo > malmsteen

also he's fatter

Van Halen was better.

Here's the thing, I'm not a fag so I'm able to see past his good looks and admit that he's a mid guitarist at best

This is the greatest guitarist of all time.

IMG_7844.jpg - 640x480, 21.87K

Maestro Alex Gregory>Malmsteen and and EVERY day of the millennium.

Allan Holdsworth mogs

Wrong-his challengers are Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai and Guthrie Govan. Guthrie in particular is just disgustingly good. For my money maybe Paul is a better shredder and musically I prefer Steve Vai. But especially if you play guitar you can see how gorgeous Yngwie's playing is-it might seem like pure wankery to a non player but his playing is just beautiful

Technical skill is a meme. No one cares about him because he didn't write any music people actually want to listen to.

That’s not Alex Lifeson.

Norman Blake is still better than any of them

Technical skill is a meme

you win the unc comment award

i like you guys

True right answer coming through

The only correct answer in the thread, and in no way is it at all close.

goes up the blues pentatonic scale

goes down the blues pentatonic scale

WOW BRAVA SRV

How fast can you play Bach?

Yngwie is still making music. Pantera is dead. Anselmo isnt doing anything.

He's a one trick pony and a terrible singer to boot. Paul Gilbert is GOAT

never bother a man whos about to shag some groupies with fucking donuts ever

The best guitarist is Rory Gallagher or Richie Blackmore

Too technical, no emotion. Goransson has become the face of swedish neoclassical kino

He's literally doing a reunion tour you tard.

Uli makes Yngwie look like a cack-hamdled toddler

reunion tour with who? his shit stoner band nobody gaf abt?

That concert where he gets absolutely mogged by Joe Satriani and Steve Vai

He never recovered from the humiliation.

Yngwie is still making music

Is anyone listening to it?

yup. views on youtube

80s-90s eric johnson is the actual zenith of popular guitarists

i won't hear another word about it

Lel yngwei does not deserve a biopic. Hendrix, page, fahey, van Halen, iommi, there's countless picks that aren't just wank fags

Anselmo isnt doing anything.

Anselmo is in like 500 bands.

Less is more.

solved hobbie, you got 13 year olds doing better covers now and thanks to yidtube everyone can see it for free

Speaking of Vai he covered king crimson songs with Adrien belew and he was unable to play Robert Fripps parts as Fripp played it proving even on a fundamental level he was lacking, he had to use both hands on the fret board to do an incorrect imitation.

Using 13s for standard tuning is pretty wild, as much as I dont like the guys music

Zakk wylde and charlie benante, it's technically half of pantera but for what it's worth the shows are still pretty good.
youtube.com/watch?v=W0w8Dben1Hk

for me? it was that ugly mick rude fat fuck from thin lizzy
soul

he tuned a half step down like Jimi

his shit stoner band nobody gaf abt?

I can guarantee you more people care about Down than Yngwie. Shit, more people probably care about Scour than Yngwie.

I like down and a little bit of super joint but every thing else he has done is shit. I still give him credit though for actually going through with most of those projects.

and only Pantera ever mattered dude. dont even bother arguing this.

When this whole grunge thing came, it was so pathetic like, a rock star who'd shaved his head, wore pants that are ten sizes too big, an old...an old shirt as well as a sock on his head. Like, what was that about? It's like the opposite of what I think...I mean if I was a fan, or if I was someone who was into rock...then I want to see a guy on stage who is bigger than life. He has clothes that I can't buy. He has stuff that I can't have. He does things that I can't do.

Using 13s for that is still ubsurd

lmaoo this is so boring

its just a sad pantomine without the Abbotts.

watever dude. sludge/stoner metal bands are a dime a dozen like donuts.

well that was what made grunge relatable of course. Every genre has its fans.

A LITTLE TURDIE...
FELL DOWN MY LEG INTO MY SHOE

Dumb idiot says dumb thing

Oh what's the matter, you like seeing grown men being depressive faggots on stage?

Yngwie was about to unleash the fokken fury on those two girls.

Charlie is a good fill on the drums, it zakk who feels out of place. He's good on the rhythm sections but but can't seem to nail any of the solos and just tries to do his own thing.

Personally, no. But grunge was a direct reaction to the maximalism of the 80s rock and hair metal. It's fundamentally the whole point.

Ability to shred doesn't mean ability to make great music. It's nerd metal.

your talking abt math rock and its relatives and derivatives

also it was heavy without being lumped into the same box as metal.

He's a faggot but I kind of agree, the grunge movement in the 90's felt like a massive psyop. It just came out of nowhere and everyone was into it with no resistance at all, everything about it felt artificial.

Who the fuck are the wack boomers?

Buckethead.jpg - 860x1147, 160.68K

I don't like BLS but I will admit that zakk is a talented musician, it just seems like he's phoning it in these days. Back when he was with ozzy he put out some amazing solos, now he just does blues scales at mach speed and it gets boing pretty quick.

is he still in Chinese Democracy?

probably was considering a lot the people in the scene were killing themselves overdosing

He's been phoning it in since he got sober.

it's true. no one cares how well you can jerk off your instrument

the ones that got mind controlled were the musicians not the audience

talented but he'll always be in the shadow of the guys he filled in for. he's a hired gun after all

Even before he got sober he was already doing the shred meme. He's basically a white trash version of yngwie.

>still no biopic in twenty twenty five

movie requires a story
Yngwie story is boring and no drama
oh....and the Godfather of Shred?
youtube.com/watch?v=dMRzPKjTCl8

Perfectly encapsulates why glam died because nobody could relate and the content was meaningless. You want a singer that channels the human condition. My favorite glam rock songs are even the more sincere ones like photograph by def Leppard, great verse in that obe

It's the opposite of artificial, literal grass roots progression formed from smaller scenes blowing up

Wtf do you mean cant relate? every straight male with a working dick could relate!

youtube.com/watch?v=OjyZKfdwlng

literal grass roots progression formed from smaller scenes blowing up

nah....it was the faggy "new thing" that MTV boosted and promoted. Same with hip hop
shiny new object to replay endlessly non-stop.
Guns n Roses likely was to blame for shit like Nirvana and Pearl Jam for blowing up because even though they were hair metal, they used a lot of non-traditional melodies and then moved to anthems and ballads

MTV was the catalyst to faggy grunge and neutered emo subject matter. Born in the 70s all i knew was songs about sex and kicking ass, so I couldn't relate to super homo grunge

There's very few bands in the genre that were legit.

Born in the 70s all i knew was songs about sex and kicking ass

Boring and gay. No wonder grunge was born

If he hadn't gotten ALS, I'm willing to bet Becker would be challenging Malmsteen a lot. He was already playing Malmsteen's music for a high school music show.

jason becker.jpg - 650x430, 57.4K

some day they will make cringe music memes making fun of me

Boring and gay.

fucking big tittied chicks in leather and denim
yeah, definitely so gay
we had "grunge" concerts in the 80s
they were called "smear the queer"

That's not Buckethead

jason played circles around yngwie. he was already better than him at 17.

DOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLYDOODLY

wow, what a great guitarist

I know, I love all his music. Even the new stuff he composed but can't play. He's extremely humble too compared to Yngwie. Dude doesn't deserve what happened to him.

He ain't wrong. I hate the way grunge bands popularized the mumbly vocals, which you do when you have no singing ability.

PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET GOOD. I BOUGHT A GUITAR 6 YEARS AGO AND JUST LOOK AT IT.

Scales, scales, and some more scales.

17 years later and I'm still laughing at this album cover.

Yngvie Malmsteen is the greatest self-promoter, but that’s the only thing he’s the greatest at. He’s a one trick pony on guitar. He’s just noodling and doing arpeggios and shit. Not impressed. George Lynch and Nuno Bettencourt mog him badly. He’s the reason why shredders get a bad rep from guys like Ritchie Blackmore.
