It is FUN.

Some of y'all don't know what that is.

Aye
Its good ole fun with the family, nothing more

Why does meJat32 care about the success of the minecraft movie?

He's a box office analyst. Unironically.

This looks like fucking AI slop.

Haven't seen it yet, but I probably will at some point, just to have something to watch

The sonic effect, disastrous first trailer then an actual good movie

Turns out kids have zero standards and le funny fortnite dancing makes a good movie to them.
Who knew?

Is there any reason this couldn't have been animated with game-accurate designs instead of this....thing with Jack Black?

It's something kids still actually like.

Kids like Jack Black?

Kids have shit taste. Media made for young teens is usually trash and has been since the dawn of time.

BAA-ACK!

Angry Joe claims to have been in a packed viewing with mostly kids and didn't hear any of them laugh the whole time

This a semen jar?

believing Enraged Esteban

Anon, I...

Why is a 30 something year old watching a film made for kids?

why does a guy who reviews movies on his youtube channel go to movies

I dunno, chief.

Because it is his job, duh.

Why is he reviewing movies made for kids? Is his audience mostly in that age bracket?

Try 40 lel

Sometimes kids movies are good. They loved The Wild Robot. Minecraft is just AI-generated script slop animated by indians.

Some people in his age bracket have kids.
Also it's a new video game movie, he's practically obligated to cover it. He reviewed FnaF. He'd probably review a Roblox movie.

Fucking nonce dunno who this dick head is but if he was sat next to me kid aid fucking twat him till he we was both crying fucking nonce.

This. Not all movies have to be full of angst and have sly references for adults.

jack black is gonna be swimming in money like uncle scrooge with those percentage points, isn't he?

It's fucking Minecraft, kids are going to be dragging their parents to theaters

make one movie

be set for life by normie standards

I wonder what that's like, not having to work 70 hours a week just to afford some shitty apartment and bare minimum food and equipment.

It has "Minecraft" in the title; that's what.
So long as it had that, the movie itself could have been a 90-minute long uninterrupted hold on a PNG of the Minecraft logo with no audio, and it still would have made money.
That's not necessarily going to hold true if they try again with a sequel or something like that, but the whole reason it got greenlit in the first place is the same reason it ended up making money despite pretty clearly just being low-effort slop:
Brand Recognition

The same USED to hold true for having "Star Wars" be a part of your title, up until they killed the Golden Goose and Solo proved that you CAN in fact make a bomb with that name attached.

a cringeworthy, corposlop

fun

You are flesh golem without soul.

slop slop slop

everything I don't like is slop...or woke

$150M opening weekend

when you factor in marketing costs it needs to make at least one trillion to break even, enjoy your flop hollywoodfags

The fact that that would have required more money & effort to be put into it, as well as a higher level of just general giving a shit.

An unfortunate lesson that Hollywood has been forced to learn over and over again; especially the actual creatives within that industry trying to keep it from being completely soulless; is that movies are one of those products where there is NO guaranteed correlation between higher quality in the products and resulting higher profits.
Sometimes those two factors DO correlate, but there are just as many examples of a mediocre end-product making bank and of genuinely creative projects with lots of quality & care put into them that up barely breaking even or even just outright losing money.
Neither effort nor actual quality can necessarily be counted on to ensure, or at least even nearly ensure; financial success. Sure, they do give a BETTER CAHNCE of experiencing financial success, but not nearly enough of one to justify making it the superseding priority in a movie's creation.

That's the whole reason higher effort & higher quality 2D animation ended up ultimately losing-out to CG-animated DreamWorks shlock: Because it turns out that cheaper-to-produce garbage like Turbo, The Croods or Bee Movie can and often does make just as much money (and often even MORE money) than passion-driven but labor-intensive & expensive projects like The Prince of Egypt, The Road to El Dorado and Sinbad.

Gone woke.....

Because he's a movie-reviewer?
...Are you seriously fucking stupid?

As much as I personally dislike Angry Joe, it's kind of completely normal and expected that a movie-reviewer would watch a movie before reviewing it; especially when he's a personality so attached to video games. He's not really at fault for doing that, as you seem to imply.

You know that even Siskel & Ebert and other famous critics of a similar caliber ALSO watched movies that were "intended for children" and reviewed them, right? This isn't anything new

everything I don't like is slop

Yes.

What went right?

The public being trained to lower their standards. Still never gonna watch this trash even if it somehow claws its way to a billion dollars.

It probably is, at this point.

It's crazy that there actually used to be good kids movies

it's literally aimed at 7 year olds

Set a low bar and you can have fun with it.

If you have anything above a low bar set then that is a skill issue.

y'all

y'all

Back to twitter with you, troon.

He does movie reviews, you hard "R" retarded nigger

it's better than most kids movies were

?'
name some then

I hope that's just a baby milk bottle and not what I think it is

It's easy.
Minecraft is a big ass brand, most kids and autists are obsessed with it. Even if the movie is shit they will watch it anyway.
The Mario and 5 Nights at Freddy's movies were aimed to the same demographic and both were successful in the box office.

I feel like you'd get beaten up when I was at school if you told your mates you were going to see Minecraft the Movie. how times have changed.

we will soon learn it's actually anti-woke

Massive IP = big opening weekend

Word of mouth will determine if this will be a huge hit in the coming weeks

The production budget was $150 million, which isn't enormous, but the profits will be shared with Microsoft who holds the Minecraft IP, and they are unlikely to ask for peanuts.

Chuds lost again.

It was like a midnight rocky horror showing or ANY movie in a black neighborhood the way these retarded zoomers were cheering and clapping the whole time.

If someone would’ve Aurora’d the theater the world would be better off. We raised a generation of fucktards. At least my kid was annoyed the whole time so I know we didn’t raise a fucking nerd.

Our country is so fucked.
