LOTR is a very seminal staple of a big literary genre and it had a big movie trilogy adaptation made out of it but to compare that to Bond, which has been a S-tier brand since the 60's, is what's disingenuous. Did they fire their head of operations for LOTR? Did they buy out LOTR for 10 billion? Did Bezos ever get so involved as to tell someone to hand someone else a billion dollars just so they fuck off? I like LotR as do a lot of people (not fantasy nerds alone) but to say that it is a more culturally relevant and prestigious franchise than Bond, which is sponsored by the world's most high-end brands that would never ever sponsor any other IP, is truly crazy. She's already a woman of colour and that worked out quite well.
