it's satan
it's just satan
the gnostic god if you wanna be fancier

Who the music producer? Or just the overall message?

good album. too bad he killed himself.

It's movie not an album... Are you a bot?

Are you blind to the point where you think this is the Nirvana album cover?

You're not invited to the the billionaire tech future. That's the message

You're supposed to obsess over its meaning but it has no meaning. That's it.
Also, Turning Teeth is a fucking bop and I wanna bust on the owl woman's tits.

I saw the scene with the old musician before I saw the movie and had high hopes. What a letdown. It had a lot of potential.

How did it let you down? I thought it had a nice build up to that

Hate to burst your bubble pal but the schizo theories are surface level. The dog killer, living forever, the music man (although true) is all bait. Paying attention to them is what the movie is making fun of. It's actually about moving on from a breakup, treating women better and gaining a higher sense of self by not being a hypocrite. I love this movie.

It did, but everything after was just not what I was hoping for.

Adding to this. He gets sprayed by the skunk, all the women say he smells like shit. In his current state he is repulsive. Symbolic stuff you know. Towards the end you see him interact with his ex and later the billboard of her face is being painted over. He goes home and sleeps with the older woman neighbor who, after his hero's journey, says he smells like patchouli. He's moved on, resolved himself, and is no longer repulsive.

I thought he smelt like shit cause he was the dog killer and surrounded by the smell of death. Would make sense with his obsession with the story and him hearing woman's voices as dogs barking when he got his nuts kicked in when confronting the girl at the party in the restroom

And the fact he carried dog treats without ever owning a dog

Watch Burning (2018) next. Very similar but more subtle. I like both a lot.

Added to the list, thanks :)

He carried dog treats because of his ex. When the hobo ties him up he starts to cry and gives that explanation. It's admitting the truth, catharsis in a way. So, the hobo lets him go. Again, it all ties back to women/the breakup.
The dog killer is a red herring in a way. He's not actually killing dogs but yeah you're right, he's surrounded by death, misery, malice, whatever you want to call it. That's what I think being the dog killer is.

Interesting, I thought he was lying to get out of the situation with the king

the gnostic god

You mean the abrahamic god

If America started building architecture like that I wouldn't even be mad about a "great reset"

Isn't the point supposed to be that you can't ever get an actually attractive woman because they're all hidden in subterranean pyramids so don't try chuds just fuck used up old plant ladies stupid chuds.

Surprised you actually watched it to the point you could come up with a troll post like this. Congrats

lil timmy forgot his spectacles

Riki Lindhome isn't attractive

If America started building architecture like that I wouldn't even be mad about a "great reset"

Wealthy people put hidden messages, and not-hidden messages in media so they can talk to each other. They communicate everything from exclusive parties to secret plans for dying like a pharoh.

The Hollywood elite prey on young actresses and pimp them out from the beginning of their career. Doing this works grants them access to the exclusive parties and the chance to hook up with billionaires in their tombs.

There are billionaires that view themselves as gods. They create an elaborate death ritual in order to ascend.

The city is haunted by nearly a century of this kind of behavior. There is a serial killer who targets dogs. There is a cult of killers that call themselves The Owl.

How am I trolling though? That's literally the plot of the movie. Fuck the older hag next door because the young attractive women of childbearing age who you're supposed to be attracted to for biological reasons are all taken by billionaire pyramid havers and walled up for eternity but really they're the victims don't you see! So you can't even be mad about it! Just go fuck the old plant lady and forget about procreation with hot as fuck swimming pool girls.

Hollywood girls aren't wife material, they worship mammon. Plenty of normal women out there, stop being black pilled

Oh myself I'm well past the point where I even want to attempt to debase myself enough to try to be with another woman, I'm just saying what was the obvious overt message of the film. Lots of nonsense and then a straightforward scene that explains what happened to the girl he was chasing.

I'm not saying I agree. The movie just felt like Jeff Bezos or someone trying to give the middle finger to average men and demoralize them into never trying. I guess it worked on me to a degree. But I'm no longer demoralized I'm in the stage of acceptance. What motivates me is telling the truth about a faggot like Bezos who funds shit like this where they try to sell you on the idea that you can never have a truly hot woman.

Jamal, who let you out of the zoo??

I'm sorry you've reached such a low level, maybe try vibrating at a different frequency? Every women in this movie has either been trafficked or abused. It's not a normal situation, as for the nudist neighbor he bangs I can see the message you're trying to read but to be honest most older ladies don't want some young dude they want love and stability. She's basically a lot lizard with fried dopamine receptors.

Just don't look too deeply into the suicide of Kagney Lynn Karter.

Topher Grace's character's statements are the obvious cipher for the movie's meaning (in a way that felt just a bit too hamfisted, maybe a studio demand) in that modern life is random and unpredictable, and that there is no mystery left in it, so we go and chase narratives to try and make sense of it, to ascribe will and intent to the deterministic actions of state, political & economic icebergs to give them meaning that is personally understandable. By chasing them and acting on them we also ascribe ourselves with a will-in-the-world when, as you say, at the end of the day you have to pay rent no matter what.

We feel this as every event he attends is obviously funded and paid for by forces unknown, for unknown reasons. But there are reasons. They are all "astroturfed" and populated by crowds who may as well have been paid to show up, even though it's an exclusive gig or chess brunch. Conspiratorial thought abounds when everything is fake or simulatory (another big theme in the film) and we don't know who made it, why or for what purpose.

On another level, the conspiracy is representative of a kind of alienation that prevents Andrew Garfield from actually enjoying all the cool, yet fake, shit he attends. In most of the party scenes he's basically the wojack in the corner at the party saying "they don't know this is all part of an intricate web of lies" with the other party goers saying "yeah we do" but they're still partying. He's realized that there is something wrong about the place and time he lives in, and decides that it is some vast cult conspiracy. In another film he might name this alienation "bourgeois decadence" or "subversion of traditional Western morality" and he'd still be the sap in the corner, unable to enjoy what is plainly there in front of him for the taking.

Bezos is divorced and with some old hag washed up wanna be porn star, so its no like he is actually living the dream or anything, but you might have a point if you mentioned someone who actually has a hot barely legal girlfriend.

Thought provoking, thanks anon

Treat women better

Not until they treat us better. Also you will never be a woman.

It's the cinematic manifestation of the

erm, actually nobody is in control of anything and nothing ever happens that I don't know about

cope against "conspiracy theories" and in a broader sense belongs to the genre of films that presents the facade of an interesting plot only to reveal that there's actually no depth or interesting narrative and that the entire plot was actually some basic character development of the main character.

8k donation goal for her funeral

Funerals are that expensive in 'merica?

I am incredibly important, so I could have a far more expensive funeral in a country with a much lower GDP, but enjoy your flower from your auntie.

Imagine identifying with the schizo dog killer so hard you find this movie demoralizing.
