I genuinely love Battlefield Earth. Its campy as fuck, and for the most part its just a straight up throwback to the old serials he used to write when his job was being a sci fi writer. Its pretty fun and is an easy read despite being as thick as a fucking phone book.
The movie isn't even the first quarter of the book and by the end Johnny ends up being the king of space.
Of course the early antagonists are called Psychlos.
And its revealed in the book that they're all crazy and evil because of a secret cabal called the Caitrist. So the bad guys are Psychlo Caitrists. Psychiatrists.
But its so fucking dumb and on the nose I kind of fucking love it.

at the time Oasis weren't as huge as say Nirvana, but they were still pretty big. The album featuring Wonderwall sold 4 million copies in the US in less than a couple years.
I'm not even a fan, they made a couple of good albums and that's it.
