Make a shitload of money from Lilo & Stitch

Immediately lose it all because of Elio

Disney/Pixar becoming so shit makes me depressed ik everyone likes to celebrate it because fuck disney or whatever but they really used to be pioneers of western entertainment and true masters of craftsmanship

completely forgot this was a thing

movie budgets are just made up numbers by bloggers

Are all pixies just ethnic kid + random theme? How lazy

They should have been been pumping out Zootopia sequels and merch for the last decade but the suits are STILL butt hurt that it printed money instead of their baby Moana.

more like pumping my cock to judy's ass

They probably made this piece of shit for like 1 million and are going to write off everything else.

It's because Pixar has diversified the fuck out of the animation department with CalArts students.

They should have been been pumping out Zootopia sequels

Disney Animation Studios made Zootopia. Pixar is simply owned by Disney but they make their own stuff.

normdroids don't want original films so why do they say they do?

make live action remake of beloved film about a kid and her alien friend

success

immediately (like, next fucking week) try to cash in on your new movie about... a kid with an alien friend

LITERALLY shameless

another mutt pixar/disney project

it bombs

oh, my surprise

used to be

That was so long ago it was a different company then. There are no pioneers working for Disney.

300M BUDGET ?!??!!!!? LMAO

disney presents vaguely brown lump

seriously can disney go back to furries instead of mexican pandering

I remember when every Pixar movie represented a leap forward in computer graphics. Every new movie solved some technological hurdle. Like PBR, water physics, hair simulation, crowd sim etc.

wow, 300 millies?! it must have a big expensive cast full of A-listers!

Not while people from down south are being persecuted by Trump's regime. They're only gonna double down on it.

First I've ever heard of it. Looks gay

They do but they're so subtle you wouldn't notice or care unless you're working in the industry. The Good Dinosaur for example showcased this new cloud forming algorithm to make clouds more natural, but who the fuck other than tech nerds would notice anything like that?

got the 90's style alien face on his shirt

Oh boy, we're gonna have a 90's nostalgia movie that's gonna shove as many 90's references down out face

brown people interacting with aliens

Why is Disney so obsessed with this theme? There's like 10 Disney movies with this exact premise.

Each character is in a wildly different art style, and the blackie doesn't even look human. more like some kidn of bear animal.

So did Hollywood. Marketing for it has been minimal.

NIGGAS
IN
SPACE

I really hope 300$M is only the film budget and has another extra +100$M for marketing and everything else. God I want them to suffer so much it's unreal

You furies make me sick burn in hell along with elon musk

I mean even if the film was good / non-woke it's practically impossible to make such a massive fucking investment back. You need miracle Avatar numbers.
I honestly think this might be some money laundering shit, while the actual budget is much lower. Like they couldn't for real expect something this random and clearly minor to make borderline two billies. Even Pixar's most successful films did not even come close I'm pretty sure.

The artstyle is pretty much the problem with Elio, nobody wants to pay for beanmouth garbage, Luca and Trooning Red got away with it for being straight to streaming movies.

What the fuck is Elio

what do you guys think was the last real Pixar movie?
When did Pixar turn from master of wearer animation to its hollow modern self?
For me the last movie i saw that was a legitimately good movie was Toy Story 3 Ive seen other movies by them like toy story 4 and the one about the jazz musician but toy story 3 might be the last really good movie by them

i suspect it's hollywood accounting as well, they want everything to break even not be successful so they don't have to pay taxes, so they inflate the budget until everything barely breaks even on paper

why do people like you type out an entire paragraph but make sure only one word is in textspeak? this is outrageously annoying.

Luca was in theaters

cartoony characters

hyperrealistic lighting and materials

It doesn't look good. Stop doing it.

autism

I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with the hyper realistic texture cartoon characters. I don't give a fuck about blemishes on the skin.

50 million worldwide box office

Don't forget the preview pictures of him leaning sensually on a couch

It's premise wasn't interesting which is why no one went to it.

so it's also judeo-pedo-satanic

Coco and inside out 1 were good, but their first real blunder was cars 2, followed by finding dory and the incredibles 2

Anything universally cool comes from media for men, not women. Its why you have female Ghostbusters but not male Steel Magnolias.

They fucked up by including a supernatural element, should have been 100% about human kids, no mermen bullshit

They hit a awall with detail but won't admit it. They say each film is xyx better-er than the last with more detail and the visual spectacle is part of the appeal. You need like 8k screens and zoom in to see most of this shit anyways. Most people still have 1080p screens, and do not care for this.

i dont have the full timeline on when all this movies released but Zootopia was the starting point when it all came down for me
Incredibles 2 was a very good movie but the original is one of my favourite pixar films so maybe I don't see all the faults clearly

Up was the last real Pixar movie, and even then that's a stretch. Maybe Wall-E the year before, conceived in the same meeting as A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo

Pixar has always been massively overrated

Why would a movie cost 300 million ?

why cant pixar boys do cool shit

Pixar movies tend to have budgets of 150-200m but Elio had a lot of production problems which led to them replacing the director, rewriting the script multiple times and scrapping the entire movie when it was halfway done just to start again from scratch

I had no idea this movie ever existed

There was a time when every Pixar release was an event

The cosmic misadventure introduces Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge alien obsession. So, when he's beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide, Elio's all in for the epic undertaking. Mistakenly identified as Earth's leader, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be.

"Young boy accidentally becomes Earth's representative among aliens" is actually a cool premise but the movie itself looks so lame somehow

What's with every boy design from Pixar looking like 3D Steven Universe nowadays? Even the fat kid from Up didn't look so gay.

Brad Garret’s career has been such a joke since Everybody Loves Raymond. Jason Bateman got the last laugh after all.

Performative zoomgroidism

is it about elio gonzalez

because this sloppa is made by the same """creatives""" who watched steven universe growing up
total millenial death

Then what would the story be? The whole plot revolves around the two being fish people in disguise because the town hated their kind.

Yeah i miss it too

How are Pixar spending 300 millon on the cheap looking junk they shit out now? Oh well, guess we're getting 3 more Toy Stories and maybe a live action Monsters Inc to recoup the loss.

It's almost like it was on purpose. I mean, how can such a powerhouse of a Company, make another powerhouse Company & proceed to fuck them both up to the point of disgust.
It's sad. Very very sad.

I'm sure he got well paid for a co-star role on a long running syndicated sitcom, that's the jackpot for a tv actor.
And he's always been a pretty prolific voice actor, that's probably his beer money.

For like 3 films. Then they became a production line shitting out the same formula over and over. Obviously still better than the confused slop they have been splattering our for the last 15 years of course.

cal arts building should be nuked

It's so awful. They tried to be different & instead became the same blob of trash repeated over & over again

But it's with a boy!1!
This is that new angle to get Men to like Woke shit. Get in line chud.

Can’t have a male protagonist unless he’s brown and disabled

IMG_0946.gif - 300x300, 1.49M

this is why you keep getting molested

file.png - 1071x765, 841.95K

You can tell. Wall-E was the same formula, but Up is basically a short where they randomly plug and play crap after it to reach the patented conveyer belt chase ending. After Up it's mostly slop. Their biggest success was just leaning wholly in to little girl entertainment with the Inside flicks. I do hate that their huge defining quality early on, the massive technological leaps, has been completely abandoned. Robs them of a lot of their unique standing.

Zoe Saldaña as Olga Solis, Elio's aunt. Solis was originally written as Elio's mother and set to be voiced by America Ferrera. However, because the directors wanted to "deepen Elio's motivation for wanting to be abducted by aliens", the character was rewritten with Ferrera leaving the project due to scheduling conflicts in August 2024.Sharafian stated that "it felt like a relationship with a mother and son was a bit too much."

It's very generic. Explorers pretty much did it in the 80s, and that was a throwback itself.

The Tau are not really commies. They're more about classifying groups and what they can maximally provide to the collective. Communism would be highly against a caste system as it's all for equal treatment of everyone. It's more like Hinduism where you live and die within the caste you're born into to maintain the cosmic harmony but in the Tau's case it's more about what's needed make the collective function and prosper for the benefit of everyone and applied it to a social and genetic engineering level through selective breeding of the castes. Someone born in the Earth Caste will never become a merchant or diplomat in the Water Caste because they're literally bred for scientific research and engineering to develop better technology and better understandings of the universe. Of course this could all be propaganda pushed by the Ethereal Caste as the Farsight Enclave shows the Tau can prosper without the Greater Good indoctrination.

hold up this movie is out? why the fuck i didn't notice

non of early pixar films was good because of it's animation.
Toy story has a pass for being the first completely 3d movie, but all the good shit after that is entirely carried by a good script.
The worst movies have shitty adapted scripts.

Toy story, original script

Good

Bug's life, adapted script

meh

Monster's inc, original scrip

Good

Cars, adapted script

meh

Incredibles, original script kinda

Good
See a pattern here? No animation related.

Stitch stole all the Ads i guess

It's funny to think that CGI was originally meant to save money for the studios. Now they cost more than traditionally animated movies, even with inflation.

Most nowdays american animated films are based in 80s/90s animes settings or ideas, including visuals, because that's what homosexual communist retard millenials making nowdays content were watching in early mornings instead of american cartoons as their priors.

All milleanial creators should hang.

Why DON'T women like having a central antagonist? Was it always like this? Harry Potter had Voldemort.

did i say it was because of the animation in my post who are you arguing with

Women are more emotional, and dislike disruptions of social groups and want strong bonds. Even here the film is about a woman her son forming a bond. They often want a story where everyone works together to overcome something, or it's a personal relationship issue.

It's not that litterally every woman will write like this, and there's nothing inherently wrong with girly chick flick stories. Just different demographics.

The Diabolik comic series was created by two sisters. It goes through all the pulp fiction storytelling conventions, and it's the kind of thing American feminists hate. It's the lesat girly thing ever created.

I can't explain it but the art direction pisses me off so much. Same with Maribel from encanto.

Someone from Anon Babble mentioned that Maribel's design has too many circles (eyes, glasses, headshape) which is why it looks uncanny

>Make a shitload of money from Lilo & Stitch

A damn shame since that anti-family pile of shit deserved nothing.

The evil wizard is a dick, go grab your sword, rescue the maiden and bring order to the world, and retire

That's a standard male fantasy story format, and women aren't drawn to that. That's a story with conflict, violence, disruption, and women hate all that. They want to talk about FEELINGS or dumb chick flick shit.

It's an admission to the fact that they can't draw.

Pixar had such a massive fall from grace

even as a feminist rowling understood that The Hero is male and it's a male story, throw in love triangles and hot guys and women do also enjoy that, it's dykes that make girlboss media nobody enjoys

Babu Frik

based

I felt like I was going insane for how repulsive I thought Incredibles 2 looked while nobody else seemed to notice.
I hate that this is going to reinforce Disney's belief that people want "live-action" cartoons over... cartoons.

Zootopia is disney, not pixar

Rowling is not typical, and she doesn't write girly stories but young adult adventure stories. It's either she knows what sells and intentionally wrote to appeal to that market, or she just thinks differently.

Rumiko Takahashi's most popular story boils down to a guy swinging a sword through demon's heads on a quest to fight an evil wizard demon.

Fighting an evil wizard (who might be a general, a ninja, a demon, etc) is your standard YA adventure story.

These women are atypical, and for some reason Americans decided that our entire industry should be handed over to clueless know nothing women.

Just two kids on a summer vacation? The earlier concepts of the film they showed when it was first announced seemed to allude to that, not every movie needs high stakes or a complex narrative.

Anon is just making shit up

the gay dumbledore adventures is rowling writing for herself/women

Such a punchable face

The design of the new heroes clashed really hard with the established cast

Millennials didn't grow up watch Steven Universe retard, they were all in college or post college at that point.

non of early pixar films was good because of it's animation.

The door sequence at the end of Monsters Inc is a great animated showcase. Also, you skipped Finding Nemo which was a very well animated film.

And that's fine. there's some obvious sense of what will sell, what won't, what audiences and markets want. That is completely missing from these modern idiot women, who are just so disconnected from audiences because they're part of some vast bureaucracy and couldn't care less.

But to be truthful: would it even matter if they did a good job? It would have zero impact on them since they wouldn't see any benefit, so why bother trying?

300 million budget

Hollywood accounting has gone completely off the rails

for all the protesting going on, it seems that no one actually cares about brown children

Ever since they fired Brad Bird because Rashida Jones had a melty, these movies have been exactly the same.

The fuck is with Pixar's human designs and putting a button nose on everything?

Brad Bird because Rashida Jones

I don't know these people. What happened?

It was that group of guys that made pixar great. They aged out of the company and now pixar is just the company they used to work for

It's interesting that both George Lucas and Steve Jobs were constantly worried about a studio like Disney coming in and doing to Pixar exactly what they did. Jobs especially spent so much energy stopping Disney fiddling with Pixar, while Disney constantly complained about them not running the studio the "correct" way.

Brad Bird directed The Incredibles and The Iron Giant.

this, also pixar suffers from being animation nerd-lead. it's all art students deciding the movies and coming up with the base ideas instead of yknow... writers

I think it’s a matter of the model being either unfuckable and or lack dignity.

Toy Story 3 should have ended with them getting melted and merging into a single block of plastic and then they get recycled and made into thousands of other new toys and their shared conciousness spreads across the globe making children everywhere happy until they one day achieve singularity with all toys and then become a giant mecha toy and destroy Tokyo
