Not to get all chud but the simpsons were written by commies and they believed the world was run by le selfish evil rich guys who just want to horde gold like a dragon, and the purpose of politics is to find ways to make them part with some of their gold, and that the little guy's life would improve (homer) to the extent that you could get them a bit of the rich guy's pile of gold.
so this was the framework from which the simpsons operated, and did a good job of inculcating this worldview into a generation of millennials who then 20 years later voted for Bernie, the apotheosis of this view.
