The rules are different for descendants, obviously, because they were never in Death's design and were never a contradictory force until the original would-be dead mark actually dies.

You can't skip her and go on to the next one because they're not in any specific order as to when they were supposed to die like they are in the visions, only when they're supposed to live. In fact, that she avoided death for so long but Death came for everyone else proved it DID go onto the next ones that were supposed to die.

How could even escape death repeatedly? Like eventually wouldn't it just have a meteor hit you? Or just give you a blood clot? There are plenty of opportunities to kill these people.

I've only watched bits of it over the years and even I know that.

The rules of Final Destination are never consistent. Seriously, not once, ever, between any movie.

Yes but in 1 there's a scene where a character almost gets hit by a train, then another character pushes him out of the way so Death just says "fuck it" and goes to the next guy, then gets back to that first guy later. There's a couple moments like this

It is implied Iris kept Death in check at all times which is impossible, it could have killed her during her sleep or time it so it happens immediately after waking up. Having electricity and gas in her cabin, it could have killed her anytime in a similar fashion. Maybe it was some other thing that was missing, Death seems to like an audience, otherwise it's no fun.

I do think it's an unwritten rule that you can only die while conscious

Premise of FD6 is because a mass causality-event was avoided, all of the people meant to die back then were killed one by one

This means this will happen to everybody that was meant to die in the FD4 mall explosion that was avoided will also suffer terrible accidents

What premise do you think could work for a Final Destination movie that would make for a distinct cast of characters? I like that 6 shaked it up with a family, I think I'm all done with "a handful of normal teenagers and one or two adults."
I think one set in a prison could be really cool. Get a cheap actor with some real presence to be your leading man, no one believes him because it sounds like he just wants to escape, then have the prison flood or something weird like that and have all the deaths be during prison transfers or hospitals or cafeterias etc

I want an insurance claims adjuster realizing what's up. And a huge corp investigation into the concept of death. With them unwittingly pissing off Death, or more hilariously, using it for carnal gain until it bites back.

Personally I don't think too much meta would work. They mentioned they wanted to do a movie about first responders investigating the weird deaths but it sounds like it didn't get too far

this idea sucks because that's no different to bloodlines

what would be good however is if one of the main characters in the next one was a descendent of some random from the mall disaster in FD4, and they had implicit knowledge of how all the "rules" of the movie worked because they had already had their entire family tree wiped prior to this movie beginning. The writers could shortcut around a lot of set up and skip over the very tiresome death is coming but no one believes me!! scene... they need to at least start coming up with new ways to do it. It would also retroactively make FD4 slightly more worthwhile, like a 1/10 instead of a 0
